Imo it needs somebody like that to bolt on to what Mowbray has left and hopefully move a step forwards. Somebody who really knows this league but has a bit more gumption and focus on results. Some of these foreign names are all well and good but a lot have no real pedigree or knowledge of this league.

We need substance over style we had fancy possession football and it went nowhere. Contrast to the first half of this season where we met fire with fire and for the first time in a long time had an actual playing identity more resembling a good championship outfit. Said it time and time again you cannot football your way into finishing in the top 6 in this league unless you can buy good footballers.

It will turn out to be bollocks he's thrown it in and out as his go to excuse time and again down the years. I was wondering 2 or 3 years ago why he was even still in the job at all if it was such a big issue. Anybody who was speaking the truth on this would just either retire or say i'm taking a complete break from management for a year. Not him he'll be back in like a shot somewhere he'll probably end up at Ipswich only to use the same excuse in the middle of his non winning Jan/Feb meltdown. As for those stats there's been an argument that TM gets average teams over achieving for short spells before they fall back into old habits. Not so sure looking at that table but what it does scream loud and clear is he's never had a plan B and has no idea how to use a January window.

Transfer Window - COMPLETE. Where’s Gregg?

By the same token BBD and Dack were back in the squad for how many games ? The manager brought in 4 in January including Giles and Hedges. Losing BB and Khadra upset the balance but there was never a plan B and those 2 brought in for cover were messed around. Again no real plan there just bodies brought in and thrown in and out. The manager is responsible, players at every club pick up injuries, get tired, lose form. It is how that situation is managed that is they key. -
Cost cutter pound shop box ticker strikes again, no doubt there is some agent connection if this is true. Somebody needs to tell Waggot it isn't his money, this guy is seriously messing this club up and it makes you wonder why. Just what sane person would push Cocu over Farke, over anybody really. Just sounds like they want a foreign coach for the sake of it and it needs to be the cheapest one. Hopefully TM takes the Hartlepool job and there is a vacancy in the executive dept.

Johnson has done a job in his time here hes only ever really been a squad player but a handy one. Seemed popular with this team of lads, always on the sidelines when not involved and probably a steady hand behind the scenes. It's another wage off the books but another bit of experience out the door. -
It's now time for him to pack his stuff and say goodbye then the local press can take their microphones from under his nose. We've heard enough it's over he's going and the bridges have been burnt now. I thank him for his efforts and wish him well wherever he pitches up next but please shut your noise and shut the door.

Keith Hill ? -
Anybody actually thought for a moment the owners or whoever got wind of him courting the WBA interest ? Or they couldn't fathom why he was actively pushing to sell one of our best players at the time to a direct promotion rival ? Or they were concerned he was basically advising players out of contract to go elsewhere for the most money instead of begging then to stay ?

I have a degree of sympathy also as he should have had some clarity even it it was finish top 6 or out. People seem to be cherry picking though and ignoring as usual what the man himself has said about it the last 6 months. Meeting in India in summer, no decisions will be made until seasons end, waiting to see where we finished, relaxed, iv'e not approached them it's up to them to come to me etc The last one being the most telling perhaps as to how he views himself ! As Simon Jordan said Mowbray has been there 5 years he knows the owners hes met the owners, he has a phone, email, fax. He has representitives, he has a CEO he has an owners conduit in the building. So if hes been so bothered then the wheels should have been in motion a long time ago, maybe they were and hes been rebuffed. If so hes pretty much known where he stands and lets be honest had WBA sacked Bruce he'd probably be off there now. OR even earlier in the season, what would those offended on his behalf be saying now ? This is just football everybody knows this including himself, that's why hes turned it into a public circus instead of keeping his mouth shut. Because beyond this he's out for himself and his career but it would have been a damn sight worse for him, if he'd been sacked after the 0-7 or during one of his seasonal collapsing runs. Badly done to or rather lucky to come out of it intact ?

Nonsense as usual. Hes had one of the best jobs in the championship and he knows it, he's miffed and hes spent the last few weeks telegraphing that to everyone else. Yes the CEO or somebody should have been straight out to nip it in the bud or back or sack him but we know that guy is a limp dick. However all Mowbray needed to do was say in public i'm stepping down at the end of the season unless i hear otherwise and say he won't comment further until then. That's the honorable non attention seeking way for a man of such integrity to do it. But no as usual he needs a bloody violin.

Memorable Final Day Matches
tomphil replied to BRFCS.com's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
They don't take defeat to the likes of Rovers well that's for sure. I think near enough any fanbase you can name at least half would have stayed behind to see the cup presented and applaud the winners. Not that lot. -
And that is where he should be. He talks about managing a club with clout for the Prem yet hes been telling everyone he's a development coach. Says he isn't burnt out yet as long ago as 2019 he was moaning about managers needing mid season breaks. He's constantly prattled on about being away from home, funnily enough usually in a bad run never a good one. The guys double speak is insane at times so i'd assume a job like Hartlepool would be great for him. Near home, plod away and develop lower league players, little pressure and somewhere like that he's a big name. That should appeal to his ego, come on 'Pool make him an offer he can't refuse.

And to put this into context there are several clubs the same size or smaller than us who will out perform us yet again this season. Perhaps we shouldn't judge everything on crowds. -
He is the most frustrating manager iv'e ever seen or heard at Ewood. Far from the worst and i don't expect miracles hes never been more than bang average at very best anywhere since WBA over a decade ago. That's a very long time in football. I said years ago on here whilst he was still man of the moment after the lge 1 then stability season that it was dangerous to let a guy completely stitch up the inside of the club. No matter how well intentioned it might be or how much you trust them it's dangerous ground because at some point it will go sour. He's the glue that's held it all together at times so whilst i want change, positive change i'd rather see it done on good terms. That's not the impression i get he's clearly miffed his ego is crushed despite how he might be trying to spin it. They are so reliant on him and Venus down there though that both will hang around until something else is sorted out. Best case scenario is he takes tomorrows game then they both immediately step down and someone else takes the reigns asap. A smooth transition is desperately needed but i just don't see it that way, as some have said a repeat of the Coyle summer is on the cards and that's the last thing any fan should want whatever their feelings towards Mr Mowbray.

He's playing the room it's something he is very good at yet most have him down as this humble uncle type. You see with Mowbray it's ALL about him, he'll tell you it isn't then ramble on in a way it clearly is.
