No coincidence that performance turns up after his cage has been rattled.
-
Can't be a coincidence he's just rocked up out of nowhere. He also got Sunderland to pay money for Jason Steele so i'm dubious about his connections.
-
Man that was enjoyable ! How piss boiling its taken so long to go back to what works. Oh and by the way UP YOURS PRESTON you tinpot shower of nothingness. Weepdale library.
-
Hedges starts on the right which i presume is his position. Watch him have a stormer then we'll be saying why hasn't he been actually starting games there !
-
I thought he was describing his hero on the sidelines then.
-
Petulant and stroppy yes but not sure he's evil and vindictive that kind of thing needs backing up.
-
I don't think he's just coming out defending him he's just responding to a clever line of questioning. He's not going to say anything untoward even if he thought it. A lot of the players liked Owen Coyle but their views off record about his football stuff differed a little. The only thing that really matters is results and they might have a manager who they detest but he gets the club at the top end.
-
Of course it is but it's all aimed at India through the media and suits those in the fanbase who like to lap up everything their demi god says. Don't forget we are in an era where people especially younger ones are told what to think and it sticks very easily.

I expect them to work through a few key players now one by one to speak the positives. Some down there are no doubt terrified of the comfy set up being shook up, including a few players i reckon. Wherever the starting point was 4 wins in the entire 2022 so far is a disgrace especially when they went into this year able to bring in 4 new faces. There is just no glossing this over age is not an excuse they were good enough bold enough and experienced enough to get up there in the first place. Bang average form would have been fine and understandable if we'd settled back into that after a glorious run. It's been relegation form though and it happens ever season and wrecks every season. The common denominator is the manager and coaching staff with the same old wrong answers to the same questions asked every Jan/Feb/March. The excuse mentality is rife down there hes installed it in them, TK should be saying we are all gutted and angry. We know it hasn't been good enough and we are determined to put it right. But no, just like the manager says it's hey we've improved on last season a bit, we are naive and young but we are doing just fine. No wonder no one takes responsibility on the pitch there is no accountability anywhere down there. And that's because ultimately they know they can lump it at the owners door but never get called out on it because of their ignorance.

The LT propaganda has begun. Seek out 1 player who'll speak in the right tone then blast a headline, read the piece and realize he isn't actually just beating the drum for the manager. He is clearly just respsonding to what hes been asked then it's spun into a pro manager piece, these journos are as tame as anybody on the payrol. No doubt 'Mr Waggot' has been on the phone. Most worrying thing again is clearly the Mowbray mindset of the players, doesn't matter where we finish because it'll be a bit better than last season. We were in a good place at one point so it's all good and total ignorance of the awful last few months.
-
Outright lies that he is allowed to get away with unchallenged as usual.
-
How many of those assets are leaving for nowt ? What's sustainable about that exactly, plus he fogged a keeper for 3 mill plus a few add ons who is now worth double that. He's basically giving away the pitch him and his pals will be putting to India and clear as day league position or promotion don't matter a jot to him. He'd like it no doubt, we all would but he's no real desire or drive for it just another if we ended up there we end up there.

Football managers are a strange breed though they rest up in summer and come back coated in teflon. It wears off of course but if you've got your name on a contract then a sacking in Oct/Nov means a nice pay off. If not you just shrug your shoulders, say nothing is your fault then plod on with it drawing your wages. If the heat gets too hot then if they don't sack you you say 'mutual consent' to your agent. Yep, really hard done to these guys are.
-
That's what any manager wanting to start strong and win games would do but not this fella. I understand the need to manage him but 45 mins is 45 mins whether first half or second. Leaving the big guns out sometimes and wheeling them out later if needed works for Liverpool and Man City. It doesn't work at a second tier team with very little quality who desperately need goals and wins. Just another classic example of Mr Overthinker.
-
Fans can catnap in their seats for the first 45 of every game next season if he stays.
-
His mindset is dreadful. Also i love all this ask Mr Waggot stuff he's clearly directing everything towards him so he cops the blame when him staying is announced. We all know the situation there Swaggo is so far up Mowbray he disappears for months on end, which he will do when hes done the deed of a new deal.
-
He's going nowhere i said years ago this is another one who'll cling on to the very death. Back to talking like a development coach now and offering every excuse known to man. You know the same things that affect virtually every club but here it gets the manager a free pass. Because of the ownership, bizarrely though what they have to do with most of it is very debatable when it comes to the actual stuff on the grass.
-
Mowbray is the king of contradictions and narrative changes, he'll say what suits him at the time.
-
Correct. The biggest issue remains they won't sell and even if they considered it there's the small matter of 200 million debt to them. Cutting their losses obviously isn't a thing so it would take something else to set off a chain reaction leading to a sale. Or some lunatics with at least 100 million to throw away.
-
Qataris ? That never seemed based on anything more than assumption from Anderson being on the phone in one of the lounges. Sorry but i don't believe that one at all i know of a few other pointers that made it a dud as well. A Qatari consortium was around in the UK at the time but it wasn't a football club they were coming over to buy. Somebody might well have tried to flog us to them though such is the world of the fixers and middlemen. The Ians were legit i'm sure but not sure how serious they really were it smelt a bit of Holdsworth & co getting hold of Bolton. Sole intention to punt it on quickly but they got lumbered with it. I think there were a few sniffing around expecting us to go bust though and waiting to pick up the pieces.
-
Mowbray has to have at least 3 players out of position in starting line ups it's in his dna When he didn't, we won games.
-
The age of the squad is a legit thing to mention but they aren't a bunch of novices, many have lots of games despite being young. Refs have been bad for us yes but they know we are ill disciplined and the manager started calling them out early in the season. So, looking at Luton etc just about every myth Mowbray has peddled this season has been exposed - again.
-
Which is my i'd have Buckley in there with him next season and another terrier type midfield back up is an absolute must. If they are to persist with the present style then hopefully Dack is false 9 and we have a winger on one side rather than wide forward. Give Buckley something to ping his passes to instead of turning them backwards, they tried to turn Travis into Evans with the possession crap. It didn't work so please to god they don't try it with this lad as well.
-
3k plus is respectable enough although not great obviously but anything less is a bit embarrassing even if there is nothing to play for. If you want players taking pride is getting the bragging rights the fans have to show it as well otherwise what's the point. We moan about Mowbray shrugging his shoulders but lets not have him rubbing off on the fans as well, which he clearly has in recent weeks.

They've collectively already blown it this season there'll be no repeat next season at all. Just a balancing act to keep competitive in midtable whilst getting the next crop ready to sell / let go for nothing before a pay rise. The perfect set of people are already in place for that. people who between them are costing the club millions per year. When you look at the clubs up there now challenging and the ones who'll finish above us it's sickening given where we were. Also look at the managers some have, not exactly a galaxy of names or 'stability' experts. Between them they've blown it and everybody knows it apart from probably the daft ownership. They'll be sold another truck load of bullshit about journeys this summer. The worst thing to happen might well have been the Rothwell saga but would it really have changed anything ? Would he have got the money, would he actually have brought anything decent in that would have made a difference, would he even have spent it if he'd got it ? Or would it have been craftily stashed in the pot for some ex pals looking for contracts in summer ? It's a collective thing and anyone sticking the blame on one or the other is deluded imo. There's a reason the likes of Venkys, Mowbray, Waggot and the crew all go together. They are a melting pot of reasons we'll never go anywhere.
