Memorable Final Day Matches

Spurs again.... away when we dicked them 4-0 and i think we got into Europe, 2003 ish ? Packed away end upper and lower and we stayed in Selfridges hotel the night before with the away travel club. Great performance and to see them whizzing their season ticket books from all corners onto the pitch at the end will live with me forever, priceless. -

Time was 11k WAS a big crowd at Ewood. Lets not forget there has always been limits top our fanbase it's beyond numb to compare our gates to places like Derby, Nottingham etc as many seem to do. Also for a bit of balance Brum and Coventry even Hull and one or two others gates aren't good at all when you look at the size of the places. Pound for pound populations 2/3/4 times that of Blackburn. -
Dyche would be perfect for Everton they need to go back to the Moyes days they were quite direct under him. Their club needs rebuilding inside out but like Newcastle and one or two others they think they should be playing fantastic football and are entitled to world renowned managers and center forwards.

Well yeah then when it goes tits up he can use the distance from home as an excuse.

There did seem to be a long standing link to WBA even the LT guy alluded to it. Something was at play there but didn't pan out although it would be no surprise to learn Mowbray is going to sit back and wait to see how it unfolds for Bruce. He'd be back in there like a shot imo As for Hartlepool that's exactly where he should be now.

They are comfortable with losing a certain amount off the books every season in their portfolio is the simple answer. Doesn't bother them much and they don't seem too fussed certain people get rich off them as long as they keep there mouths shut. Key to that is they are happy to lose money funding losses but don't like actually investing which says it all to me. The club is just an oversees loss leader to run a few quid through now. The odd perks are a bit of advertising, having something to play with and show off to friends when we draw Man U or Liverpool in the cup, owning a piece of English heritage and opening doors to meet royalty etc sometimes. It's a small price really when you consider all that and how much turnover they have. Also how many ex Premier League Champions, 6 times FA cup winners, League cup winners owning their own assets come available for 25 million ? This club was an absolute steal.

DOF can work if there is a proper plan in place for it but just creating a post to keep somebody happy is nonsense. Remember Kenny ? He really needs to be gone now asap that's the only solution i'm afraid. Sorry to disappoint his nut huggers on here but he himself has now made it impossible to stay in any capacity. Yes 100% he should have had clarity months ago but again he himself said he wasn't bothered. He said they might be waiting to see where the team finish and he was relaxed about it. Also said he'd made his mind up to leave quite a while ago, not factoring in it seems they'd decided they weren't going to offer him anything. He's just doing damage limitation and as usual making it all about himself. The sooner Saturday is done the better. Everybody needs a break from the Tony Mowbray bloody road show...including himself.

Brum 1 Rovers 6 Mowbray signs off in spectacular fashion to get fans begging for another 3 years of it. -
It's easy to suss out what's going on. What passes for Directors in Blackburn sift through candidates applying and contact one or two they might think suitable. Narrow it down to those who fit several different criteria then say they'll pass onto the owners and arrange interviews. Court a bit of publicity with all this and let the betting markets gather pace. Meanwhile those with a direct line to the owners present their man, under cut the other favs for the job. Make a load of promises then in comes their man ...35-1 left field. Job done, pockets full of money for a nice drink. Mr Balaji phones them up and tells them hes admired their work for years, even though they were actually on the scrap heap.

That's a bit of a contradiction seeing as he brought in 4 players in Jan and that's the first proper business in that window for a long time. And yes they cost money, one of them was coming in summer for free anyway. I don't know how many times this needs pointing out but it's a collective cock up, he was never getting 5 0r 10 million. He should have got a couple of million though but did he even ask ??? All the noises he makes suggest not so he spent what was left in the pot, his call, his players and his choice to use them or not as the case may be. Either way it will still have cost a million quid or so. -
Never forget John Williams words on this, along the the lines of... 'Blackburn Rovers needs a high profile manager to help maintain that profile and punch above our weight. It's our responsibility to get the very best we can within our means'. That has never ever happened under these lot and we've paid the price.

The year gap also being another wasted season The player sold is now a Prem player and Spanish International His spending on two out of three isn't bad but the subject raised was re-investing and looking at that then he shot himself in the foot. After selling a goalie to buy a striker ( his own words ) If anybody is taking any notice in Pune then they'll have noticed that, hence in recent times there might have been concern with giving him a lump. -

Although he did spend ALL the money from one other player sale.....on Sam Gallagher. Perhaps that didn't go down too well. -

Good post. The blame is collective including a few of the players and together they've all fooked it up. Fans aren't stupid - mostly - that's why there is clear anger instead of a 'we had a right good go' vibe.
