  1. Aye and Boris will cancel lockdown if Rovers beat Boro !
  2. I think he'd love to play every week if he could get away with it but in Tony's ideal world it would be Bennett for Nyambie, Evans for Trybull and Gallagher certainly for Dolan. Maybe even Bell for Elliot, got to think of the pecking order and keeping them happy.
  3. Agreed, he's probably about 6'2" in reality and he's the athletic type many modern guys are rather than the bull elephants of the past. Iv'e no desire to watch him v Fury cat and mouse for 12 rounds with hardly a power shot thrown. Be better seeing him match his skills v the likes of Parker or even Hughie Fury but nobody will put up the dosh for fights these days. Not unless they can PPV flog it or there are main belts up for grabs.
  4. Think we'll tighten it up in this one and it'll be a real grind of a game but ultimately we'll be caught out yet again. Rovers 0 Boro 1
  5. Look at the early part of last season, look at the throw the towel in efforts after lockdown barring the first game. Then look at what he was saying and what some fans were buying into. It's all the same again and no amount of time or money will change it, it is what it is and it's a reflecting of the manager and coaching staff. Club as a whole probably, yes it's the hope that keeps everyone going even them. The reality is we know how it goes because that's what these methods always lead to difficult circumstances or not. Mowbray has been unfortunate with a few injuries and everyone is suffering the current climate. However he's been VERY fortunate to be allowed to keep his best players season on season, have some good youth available AND be able to keep adding to the squad. At two points he was able to spend multi million pound fees. The squad he's had available for the last 2 games has been good enough to get results that's a fact. The only real questionable one is the keeper, again down to the manager. He though despite not looking good hasn't been to blame for the defeats so the spotlight falls again on poor tactics and the same old 'regulars' making the same oid errors. And the glaring lack of nous in terms of getting back into games or turning them around. 'Oh reading are top we can't be expected to beat them if we go behind' - 'Oh we haven't won at Swansea for decades can't be expecting to get anything there' Utter bullshit mentality along with there's nothing really wrong with the tactics or defense it just isn't going our way at he min. There's everything wrong with the attitude i'd say.
  6. It's pretty unforgivable the media don't call him out on these things when the mic is under his nose. Talk about a comfy position, i doubt he had it so easy in his beloved Boro.
  7. A bit of stealth going on there though perhaps by TM and his best pal. Removed the man waiting in the wings to a back office job.
  8. Ah that old chestnut. Sorry not buying it, they both beat him and wouldn't be surprised to see him out box Wilder then get iced. He doesn't carry enough umph to bother them i don't think.
  9. Well it went pretty much as expected and fair play to Chisora for seeing it through. He was never going to maintain the pace he set but he gave Usyk some uncomfortable early rounds. Only one winner once he found his rythmn and it slowed down a bit though. Still don't think he bothers the top men i think he'd have really struggled with a Parker or Whyte last night, doesn't have power to back them up. Still it's another interesting face at least in an otherwise very bland HW outside the top 3 or 4. No way is this guy the new Holyfield though and whilst i rarely agree with Nelson he was right in saying like other good cruisers going up he'l have some success but come unstuck soon enough.
  10. Such is the reliance on these kids now though because of Dacks absence, Rothwell on the settee and the money wasted on we know who. It's no wonder they soon fade away.
  11. The most frustrating manager in Rovers modern history for me, many good points but his blind spots are insane. Aside from having a dodgy back line his entire tenure the team as a whole has never had any balance. Certainly not for more than a few games at a time when he actually finds one, he can't wait to change it up again. That's why it's a bit misguided when fans say we have such a body out and so many to come back. True but as others have said a fully fit squad even in non covid times just means more rotation and constant tinkering with this fella is written in his dna like the middle of a stick of rock.
  12. Does it really matter though ? An arsehole is an arsehole when it's somebody else's. When it's your own you tend to think it's alright. We aren't having cups of tea with the manager.
  13. All I want to hear is Mr Balaji or Mrs D or preferably the whole clan have made a conference call to TM and Waggot. "Hey guys thanks for your hard work but we are concerned about losing this many already. We know the circumstances but we feel we've given you adequate backing and support to cope with this. Please put on record we are not happy with the way it's going and feel it's only fair to expect improvement in the coming weeks " Some bloody culpability and the odd kick up the backside.
  14. You can't get a decent cup of filte coffee anywhere these days though. Damian looks like a latte man to me
  15. We have a squad with depth now and a lot of the newbies according to the manager himself wouldn't have been expected to play anyway until they'd bedded in. THe team turned out are good enough to get some sort of results otherwise what is the point of them. The excuses that people are willing to suck up time after time now are getting farcical.
  16. Probably just another one on a great little number at Ewood. Isn't most of his job now watching vids and dealing one on one with players ? No responsibility there.
  17. Not that it'll be happening but if it did it's a real difficult time to change a manager given the circumstances. Would probably have to be just promote Johnson although the way its going and with players in and out we could end up staring the drop in the face. Not sure he's the man for fighting that type of fire. Might be best to just limp along and let him get us midtable again then finally for gods sake make a change. Otherwise the hamster wheel goes on and on. The big chance has been missed this season with the odd situation making the league there for the taking. However he's done his sales job on us and them again and again all signs are pointing to his muddled logic keeping us firmly in the middle pack.
  18. Him and a few others have been lying low after their arrogance made complete fools of themselves following the last victory. Absolute flakes.
  19. This will finish 1 - 3 I reckon. The excuses will be long and varied today. And totally absolving of the manager of course.
  20. Something tells me it's not only the manager who speaks to India through the TV
  21. I don't he can be called an awful manager in the same breath as linking him back here, given the truly awful ones we've mostly had. Fact is he was just the right fit at the right time. Like Souness was before him before his shelf life expired. Mowbray has been similar but more in an off pitch way than on it. We are now where we were again when we got Souness in and Hughes and Sam. Change desperately needed to drive it forward rather than just fight fires. I'd give Hughes another go tomorrow.
  22. Just what the hell do these lot do on the training field in terms of defense ? It's basic stuff every time it's pathetic now. And looking at a defence with 3 out of a back four still who've struggled for years is again pathetic. The defensive pool needed a complete and utter overhaul. That means getting fucking rid of the weak links instead of just saying oh it's ok they'll be good back up. Doesn't happen in Mowbray world it's an old pals club.
  23. The defence still resembles the one that's struggled for Mowbrays entire reign and now we have yet another rookie in the goal. The 2nd keeper spot looks weaker than when Lutweiler was here i hope the judgement in another jobs for a mate comes good. Teams been written off already so this is just the type of game we'll win now hopefully.
  24. Connery RIP Moore Craig The rest are irrelevant when it comes to Bond.
  25. David Hayes WWF style advertising campaign has won you over then ? Talks more twaddle than TM on a bad day.
