  1. Eh ? If you want promotion then it's not the time to be experimenting with rookie keepers. Didn't the Raya and Walton experiences add to that opinion ? The new keeper comes in being older and more experienced albeit in a different league but he looks steadier so far than the pair of them. They were highly rated rookies at that but the two new ones are what you'd probably best describe as cheap back up. We want quality fighting it out all over the park so why not in the goals is it so outrageous to expect a solid back up keeper ? I don't really care a jot about players feelings either.
  2. You obviously missed where Mowbray said he didn't expect Pears to be involved much this season. Sounded like he wasn't being thought of as a number 2 yet. You also omitted we've been linked with a few other older keepers recently as well. Nobody is saying anybody has done anything wrong but if you can't fathom that those 2 might struggle badly, given their lack of experience and were probably not signed to be near first team action much this season then that's your problem.
  3. We should be looking for a free agent centre back with a bit of championship experience even if it's a short term deal. Forget luxuries like Downing now, another keeper for no 2 should come before him if nothing else.
  4. I really don't see why the rule of twice weekly testing of players has been removed although no doubt it is down to money. So much for all the blubbering on about players welfare.
  5. No reason to assume they won't change tack again at some point in the future. First few years it was all young coach with potential and after they got tired of being let down with that they turned to 'experienced guy with a promotion' on his cv. Next change might just be either foreign coach with good credential or perish the thought somebody actually with something relevant in the last few years. That might take poaching and compen though. What really needs to happen is for the penny to finally drop and realize their requirements do make sense but the people they rely on to supply these managers are the dogs arse not its bollocks !
  6. Can't see anything here i think we are there for the taking at the back unless we go and completely try and shut up shop. The keeper situation perhaps isn't really as rosy as it looked on first glance a few weeks ago. TM said he'd no intention yet to throw Pears in so basically he's saying we have no NO 2 !!! Swans 3 Rovers 2
  7. Christ we aren't back to Mowbray once got promoted to the Prem again are we ? I wish it would be dropped from judging his last DECADE or more. It doesn't stack up to the present situation here and never did.
  8. Well the WBC are on about creating a division between cruiser & HW with a 16 stone limit. Daftest thing iv'e ever heard but no surprise it's gone crazy. At this rate the WBO will end up the most credible organization and that's saying something. In WBCs case i'm sure it's aimed at re-establishing their pet Wilder after they carried him as long as they could ! Keep him out of Fury and Joshuas reach and a few others.
  9. It certainly wouldn't be Waggot although he might be asked to recommend. Just to window dress. The boys at HSH or whatever it is called who've brought in the last God knows how many would be on the case Why you might ask, why indeed. Meanwhile what's the shadow man up to these days ?
  10. We can't keep using injuries as an excuse or defense of the manager now he has that squad. Aside from Dack obviously who's been out ages but we have 12 million pounds of other 'talent'. The whole idea of him building his squad up is to have good back up in every position which he more or less has now on paper. That's what the squad is for. Out goes Nyambie in comes JRC, out goes Ayala in comes Williams, out goes Bell in comes Douglas. They should be good enough to get results or at least not get spanked.
  11. I should hope so finally. I'm not entertaining thoughts of top 2 and top 6 to me even before we started remains a tough ask. As long as that is the real aim and they have a go then fine but to change the narrative as we go along again won't wash this time. I'm not after them demanding promotion from him then sacking him in a knee jerk but pointing out they now want to see real progress this season is more than fair.
  12. David Hayes selling job on the Usyk v Chisora fight has hit almost hysterical levels of delusion now. Still at least it gives Hearn and his crew a day off their hype train. Interesting fight but it's all about Usyk and how he handles a genuine big mauling brawling hw lump. Would love Delboy to pull it off but can only see him being clinically taken apart as long as Usyk avoids those big overhand rights. In other news lineal pretender Fury about to take the piss gain in between title fights with a hand picked opponent and all the usual done to death bollocks that goes with it and him. Sooner they create a Super HW div for the handful of giants and let the rest get a decent competitive HW divison back like it used to be the better.
  13. Shoulder shrug, you win some you lose some, sometimes players tell the truth sometimes they don't. Life goes on and we all still get paid. The world according to Mr blasie
  14. That's how the narrative from him follows as well and that's another predictable path. Top 6 don't want to be sitting in midtable blah blah Building a team slowly in with a shout of top 6 Not quite there yet but i know what we need We've finished 10th it's marginal gains we can't compete with top 6 yet, hopefully backing in the window to bring in ready made players to improve the first 11 Iv'e been looking all along to bring in good back up to push what we already have to make us better, don't want to be midtable top 6 is the aim. Blah blah
  15. Then he should be regaining his concentration levels and focus on the bench.
  16. Agree with much of it most of my moaning has been because of the timid Bowyeresqe nature of this managers approach too often. Said many times all i wanted to see was us genuinely having a go over the season i feel he's on the right track in that regard. I'd much rather this approach than drawing every week and hear a manager jacking off on the old unbeaten run line. It'll have its ups and downs like we are seeing, elated one min tearing your hair out next but to me that's what football is about. Mundane crap can be shoved where the sun doesn't shine ! Problem with TM is he's never ever shown himself to be someone who can find balance, any balance never mind the the right one. It's wearing thin now he's had god knows how many windows and enough backing to see us looking to break upwards from the middle pack. His repeated blind spots and stubborness in regards to certain players will be the undoing again imo but we'll see. He's been good at proving us wrong when we've thought all is lost but just not good enough in proving he's the man for the ultimate goal.
  17. Is covid the new out with a 'knock' ? The type that sees a bandage change knees at half time. Ryan Nyambe sneezed in training so i left him out for JRC type thing, i do wonder knowing how football bullshit works.
  18. A decade in football is a lifetime and the elements he had then are way different to now, as is the difference between elite quality in Philips and bog standard in Armo. Means feck all now any of that pal, sorry.
  19. Can't really judge Pears on last night other than to say he looks nowhere near ready, ex Boro though so he'll be automatic shoe in now for 2nd choice. Worrying but in no way surprising.
  20. Touched on it the other day how with our set up now we'll take a pounding now and again inbetween pounding some teams ourselves. Very much goes with the turf and when we set up more defensive and possession based we tend to create absolutely nothing then lose by the odd goal or draw. Between a rock and a hard place at the min but i still think there is just too much chopping and changing around that we never find balance. Bottom line is still the defenders aren't good enough week in week out it's just a fact you need real quality to play quality winning football. Otherwise you need a well oiled machine that does the basics well together week in week out. Either way here it's bang on course another average midtable points return.
  21. No chance it's just another shoulder shrug. He's on the best number in the Championship.
  22. A comparison I've been drawing since TM first rocked up. He's the B Tec version ( as the kids say ) of Roy.
  23. Basically you want to change back every change the gaffer made before this game. There's a moral somewhere in that story.
