  1. Find a way to blame the fans even before any young player is selected or a ball has been kicked ?
  2. I read somewhere that Downing isn't training, might have been from Sharpe can't remember.
  3. Fine lines It was post lockdown that swung the tide against him before that it was a bit up and down. Most inconsistent young keepers will get some level of stick on SM when they are making basic errors. The Walton of pre lockdown might given the unique circumstances have been tolerated to stay or come back even it might not have been with open arms by everybody. Sadly we may be looking at worse now or should i say lesser experienced although talk of Steele again is horrific.
  4. You have top go back quite a way for that number of home regulars. 7 thousand is more likely and that should be doable, dread to think what Waggot will charge though.
  5. I pray he has enough in the pot to be bold and get a decent loan in iv'e no issue if Fisher is no 2. Not happy at all its come to this but if that's the way its got to be so be it. We really really need a championship experienced no 1 though imo.
  6. There isn't really any although i'm looking forward to just seeing some football regularly. Think for quite a few clubs of our ilk with our type of fanbase this is the crossroads between a lot transitioning to TV season tickets in the future. The whole landscape could change the longer it goes one once people get used to every game from their armchairs. As for the team i'm hoping to be pleasantly surprised with the management giving a vibrant youthful look to it and a higher tempo approach to every game. Due to the cut backs and lack of crowds they might gamble with getting a season into as many youngsters as poss and hoping for the best. Otherwise it's favourite city, rotating and mid table boring tip tap.
  7. You mean an outright gamble hoping one these lads hacks it at the expense of throwing the season down the pan if it doesn't ? Hopefully at least one will in the long run but that's the long run and we do a lot of hoping at this club and not much cast iron 'doing'. Great management idea.... How about getting in a proper keeper as insurance ? Or is that far too normal for our lot ?
  8. Agree with some of the stuff about Marshalls wages etc. However how much loan fee did we pay for Walton ? How much for Tosin, how much for a loan keeper this time ? They are still throwing money down the pan. So another short term loan then another next season how much is that compared to getting a few years out of someone like Marshall ? Our penny pinching is proven time and again to cost more in the long run.
  9. If he doesn't sign that'll be the one million left in the pot Mowbray will pretend he's going to spend in January.
  10. It's pathetic it really is there is no planning at all they just grabbed the 3 mill for Raya because they'd all fallen out. Chucked that at Gallagher then re-signed the Canadian for a year. All that because it's the easiest thing to do nothing more nothing less. They know the 2 they signed they'll know the agents so it is just easy street. Then the same agent offers Walton, his refs for a season at Wigan check out ok so yeah grab him for a year. Low risk, no hassle, no planning easy street just plod on. Sick of it now they need an absolute rocket up them down there.
  11. Non of the names seem better than what we have but all this will suit old Tone, go with what we have and a few nice cheap lads for back up. Personally i'm seething we've ended up facing probably what might be the toughest time to sign anybody, even if you have a budget, with having no senior keepers. As others have said they've known that would be the case for a full 12 months regardless of lockdown etc and we've only had short term back up even longer. I'd sack the guy tomorrow IF i could get in a viable alternative, he's absolutely winging it, coasting it to be more frank. Shite management no matter how some might try and sugar coat it. Brentford or Sheff Utd we'll never be with this regime even if they stay for 10 years getting 5 million every window.
  12. Is that all ? Rovers would bankrupt him in about 5 years ?
  13. Look at the difference that extra million makes - = Andrew Cole & Jordan Rhodes - 8 million.
  14. Well if she's from Boro and a nice lass it might have legs.
  15. That's like saying they can't train at Brockhal because it isn't safe being in Blackburn....
  16. Souness did something along those lines i remember players complaining he'd altered parking spaces at the training ground. Also he brought out a little black book of new do's and don'ts that went down badly. This was when he clearly lost his grip on things so it's not usually a good sign if your trying it with players you've let rule the roost for a few years.
  17. Part of the pre season is the craic and bonding for team spirit plus maybe initiating the odd new signings and those stepping up. They go away somewhere to graft during the day and relax at night in a neutral setting before spending most of their time on their training grounds concentrating on the job. Can fully understand the use of camps in other countries and it shouldn't be such a big deal to go off somewhere a bit closer like Scotland.
  18. The club --- We can't do anything on big decisions without the owners approving/signing off, we are waiting to hear from them. They pay our wages we don't pick up a phone and rock their boat. Owners reps - They are aware of everything on a daily basis and will get back to you soon as. Owners - We are busy people we'll get around to it when we are ready. The club - Ok, no problem at all we look forward to hearing from you in good time. Thanks for continuing to fund us. Meanwhile we have an assistant CEO or whatever his real title sat on his arse on 200k per year waiting for the first team manager to find him something to do. That's when they've all finished their holidays of course. The perfect storm for midtable mediocrity.
  19. Evans is just your stereotypical upper mid level championship player who's runs of form usually coincide with the rest of the team hitting a purple patch. Doesn't drag the team up a level or drive it on when it's floundering he just flows up and down with it.
  20. Sit there a Dingles second choice drawing his 30k pwk now go and do the same at Spurs and may even end up 3 rd choice. Sums up modern era top level players it's like Tyson said about HW boxers these days - they're businessmen the business side of it always comes first.
  21. Yet when our lot get around to something it'll probably start with another price increase. Followed by 'we've done all we can' when hardly anybody buys them.
  22. No rush for anything in the pressureless Ewood vacuum.
  23. And the difference in records between our present incumbent and Warnock between then and now ?
  24. The legendary Plymouth game in 75 i think it was, just because iv'e heard so much about it. Would be nice to see if it lived up to its status. Other than that any wins over Manure or Liverpool or the 1970's Burnley derbies.
