  1. Apart from the 3 million they invested in Akon.....
  2. We've nothing to play for because the team isn't quite good enough - neither is his approach to too many of his team selections and tactics. Two facts which go hand in hand.
  3. Somebody assumes something and he is straight in with the old 'you know this how ?' line. Then in true hypocritical fashion runs around confindently stating nobody else will work for these owners whilst not telling us how he knows this. There'd be an absolute barrow load of applicants for this job managers are mercenaries and the thought of the next pay off is as attractive as anything. We just live in hope that a decent one eventually slips under the HSH old SEM net and gets their people in the Venky ear. Even they tipped up Mowbray who hasn't been bad and he on paper looked as bad as Coyle.
  4. The overdraft is external debt it's what runs day to day stuff so if that hits its limit it needs paying down otherwise they call it in.
  5. Because it's nonsense, i noticed you've changed tack from threatening everyone with Phil Brown.
  6. Pretty similar to a few years ago when all of a sudden everybody 'wanted' to leave even if they didn't know about it ! Still at least the agents will get some more business in what is otherwise set to be a difficult climate for them. I'm sure non of the friendly ones ate encouraging it of course.
  7. Standard Potato answer, rinse and repeat. Only the Teeside football messiah can do it i hope there's some good bargains in the club shop in the inevitable closing down sale when he retires.
  8. Very inventive clickbait that is I feel sorry for a few Coventry fans hanging onto it
  9. It's not long ago he was on about trying to use the promotion bounce. All this season he's gone on about the transition to a possession team. Now it's a young vibrant exciting team on the front foot. If there is one thing we've learned about Tony it's he's a nice humble football anorak. If there's another it's he doesn't know which way the wind is blowing from one day to the next ?
  10. If he got a similar wage budget to last season ( which i cannot forsee ) but we had to sacrifice Downing & Graham for an extra year in order to pay Hart how would people feel about that ? Good move or not ?
  11. But what we do have to do is when we find ourselves in a good position with games ticking down is have a bloody good go at it on the front foot. For a club like us it's all going to be about staying around midtable and getting a winning run going at the right time. We aren't capable of running away with a top 2 spot but we are capable of a late charge into the top 6. The mentality needs to be right for that though, it isn't imo.
  12. Probably similar name dropping as Preston with Beckham.
  13. If you have the right personnel for these systems then i agree in sticking to even through rough patches it's the only way it gets drilled into them. If it's right it'll work more consistently eventually and you'll come out the other side. Constantly swapping and chopping players never mind formation is just counter productive, unless you really just want to get mins on the pitch for as many as possible. The Prem might be a bit different these days but certainly at this level it should be easier to stick to something more balanced that works well.
  14. Is this TM down playing him a bit in the hope he ends up with no other options so comes back ? There is a decent championship level keeper in there but like so many others the basics need a lot of improvements. If he's wobbly so many times at this level and even in front of empty stands he'll get crucified in the Prem. Could go either way for this lad.
  15. Look at the UTD keeper yesterday, so many still just get the basics wrong what do they do on the coaching ground ? Whatever it is it doesn't strengthen their wrists !
  16. How do we know if Cunningham is going to be the same or not ? Too many misty eyes again although it would be typical of this regime to punt on an unfit player again just to look after him. Let the guy come back on loan and prove he's worth a contract for gods sake. Just look at Gladwin & Chapman for recent examples.
  17. The deals of the signings of Armstrong, Brereton and Gallagher in the last few summers must be 15 million in total. Add to a mid range wages budget there'll be quite a few managers of similar clubs could have used that kind of transfer money. We might not be Leeds or West Brom but pleading poverty doesn't cut it either.
  18. That's just the secret to good business, use somebody else's money. Their core business is underpinned by tens of millions in debt probably secured on similar things. You can bet though they'll have about 500 million money at hand squirreled away somewhere. People are off their rockers though if they think they've spewed the family fortune on Rovers it'll be set so if it does go tits up they'll be unscathed.
  19. Mowbray took over a West Brom team with quality already in its ranks plus he sold several for good money and was allowed to reinvest. They also had the luxury of parachute money for wages etc. Different world altogether than here there's no resemblance so it shouldn't really be held up as anything. He also did it in relatively short time then oversaw relegation again. It was a decade or so ago and time has moved on. It ain't happening here under his watch for a variety of reasons some out of his control obviously. Crucially though even given the tools i don't think he's remotely bold enough or savvy enough anymore. I don't even think his remit here is promotion anyway that's why he's so comfortable. These lot and their advisors are wanting youth blooding, player value increasing and their own investments on players factoring in. First and foremost they want the conveyor belt of sales to recoup costs and transfers it's always only been a matter of time before that begins.
  20. I'd settle for mid table again if this was the case as it would genuinely be being rebuilt so maybe a step back to take a few forwards in future seasons. As long as they combined it with a more energetic positive brand of football and mindset.
  21. He's a throwback Vardy to the 90's / 00's goal poachers, another dying breed. Similar to Kevin Gallagher imo.
  22. If he'd come through the ranks he'd probably be getting lambasted but he's the managers marquee signing so he's getting the player welfare officer slant again. Thing is with him the problem is 50/50 he should have done a bit better but TM although has him opportunities he's also negated it by having him in an uncomfortable role. That's it all over with this set up and system though, he ain't the only one. I still feel with Gallagher though that he' one of those who'll click into gear eventually. There's 10 goals a season in him if someone can get it out of him.
  23. They've put in their token last effort i think they switch off in this one and Mowbray will revert to type, one game of pressing every 5 or 6 remember. Too many is bad for the old nerves and comfort zone so back to trying to contain the opposition. Danny Graham to get maybe his last ever Rovers goal. Luton 3 Rovers 1
  24. Arms has a bit of pace about him and a decent shot. Some attributes there that would help in the Prem, something to be worked on Agree though with those who've said we've several on the books who'd interest ambitious championship clubs. Of which we are 'supposed' to be one !
