  1. The 'must win' attitude deserts them all too often in favour of you win some you lose some shoulder shrugging. Every game since lockdown should have had the 'must win' mentality that's how you get to were you want to be or at least have a good go and leave everything out there. I'm sure that that kind of approach and effort in the previous 3 would have yielded another few points, we know we can't win them all but there's no reason at all why they couldn't just go for it. Setting up to accommodate players, to rotate and keep everybody involved and keep the experiment of so called transition to possession based game at that stage of the season - NO In your face front foot fight tooth and nail football - yes, as last night showed.
  2. This is why I think an independent director or DOF is needed at Ewood. To apply a little internal pressure when needed. Said the same under Bowyer the vacuum between here and India allows the comfort zone to become too comfortable. Only when fans start getting twitchy and the press starts getting a little bit critical do we get a reaction. If you genuinely want too 6 it shouldn't be like that. They should never ever lack motivation or be set up just to plod.
  3. Great effort tonight well done the boys. Where the hell was that the last 3 games ? Every time this manager comes under stick from fans he goes more sensible tactics wise and more aggressive. Team fights all the way. Somewhat of dead rubber time again though so we've seen it all before but a much needed win and we'll take it. Yet again a better more balanced performance with Bennett and Gallagher OUT.
  4. New contract nailed down now. TM talking him up to Benni Mac levels in the post match presser ?
  5. Keepers are coming..... TM getting passionate at the end of season Zoom induced fans forum.
  6. Same agent as Gallagher ? Very well could happen if so.
  7. A real striker in his real position gets one chance and scores shock horror - earth calling Rovers coaching 'experts' !!
  8. Beginning to think Walton is sailing us down the river for some reason. He looks like Steele in his dying embers of his Rovers days.
  9. Take out the 25 and replace it with 'genuine wide player' and it's spot on.
  10. I was ok with it at the time but it's a 2 way street with him imo. He just hasn't developed from what we saw in his first stint and Mowbray has got him in a role that he never ever will. Still it's worked about 3 times this season so that means it'll still be being rolled out next season.
  11. Always been on the cards that one it's just so predictable. I want him gone iv'e seen enough but what are the chances of him signing better ? Damned either way at the min i think.
  12. Let me guess, in two years when Tony fancies a rest and Johnson has cut his teeth with his International coaching role ?
  13. Well at least he's made some changes. The bets tonight are how long it takes him to get Benno back on. There's still enough in that team to get something tonight if it applies itself properly.
  14. If Downing would stay within a new reduced pay structure then i'd fire off one of the coaches and let him do that as well to make his wages up ! How much would we actually miss David Lowe ? Again his presence is probably mainly down to being popular with the lads or something agent wise. Venus, Lowe, Johnson, Benson, Mowbray & whoever else just how many do they need. Time for some player/coach roles to be created maybe and prune the deadwood out of there as well whilst being able to keep a half decent squad player.
  15. Dependent on the budget the freeing up of deadwood might allow the wages of one decent bargain to be snapped up. That's the kind of wheeling and dealing good strong managers do. Weak ones waste money on their favs and their pals pals. Over to Tony.
  16. @Tyrone Shoelaces yep. Can understand them getting cheap young players in to have a look at and maybe giving them a contract then loaning them out. However when you keep them around, give them new deals when it becomes clear you don't intend to use them at all, even in a mini crisis it's a bit odd to say the least.
  17. It is like the Mowbray benevolent fund for stray footballers at times. They've nursed Gladwin through 2 years of wages then an extra 6 months whilst he got himself ready to walk into MK Dons first team. We've nursed Samuel who's goal return is that of a full back virtually into a new contract so he can pick up where he left off as one of Tonys hopeless projects. We've let Mulgrew and Wigan have a look at each other then come back here to sit on the nice comfy bench resting his old legs until something lucrative and appealing comes along. Then there's Smallwood who's had footballers wages for 12 months whilst probably learning to be a bibs and cones man in the back ground, Then unbelievably he gets a little extension to do naff all for an extra month except keep his name in the frame for a new deal. Then there's Chapman who nobody else would have given a proper contract to given his injury issues. A player who he won't touch with a barge pole now. God knows what else is going on but all this is money down the toilet then when it comes to stretching the wages for a fresh keeper there'll be nothing. The piss is being taken again would he get away with this type of stuff at his beloved Boro with Gibsons hard earned ?
  18. The beanstalk has now taken root in the right side of the field but desperately needs transplanting in order to produce a yield. The farmer is lost in the woods though.
  19. Playing assets although the prices aren't likely to be what they might have been. I think a lot of clubs might be battening down the hatches this summer but then again if you are ambitious that will open up doors.
  20. They'll never do that whilst there are assets to cash in it wouldn't make any sense really. Like last time we were sailing close to the wind the 30 million they recouped reset the clock for a bit longer. Bound to need re sting again soon though.
  21. Bury is a silly example but that desperado will chuck any name out to defend Venkys and Mowbray. Sadly for them they've always been a tiny club for probably 50 years or more they just can't get fans in. The people of Bury by and large just don't care about them that's the awful truth. Plenty in Blackburn DO care about Rovers though some are far too easily put off whilst a lot of others can see and smell bullshit at a thousand paces. There's been and continues to be far too much of that hence why some just don't take Rovers seriously anymore. THat probably doesn't transmit itself to leafy Surrey where the righteous sit and bemoan a load of northern ingrates from the comfort of their favourite armchair.....every Saturday afternoon !
