  1. Put your money upfront and hope they bang a few in then you can double it in a quick turnaround. Both Dack and Armstrong should bring in far more than was paid for them. Rudy, well unbelievable profit in a short time. Rhodes 8 mill in, about 12 million out so about 1 mill per year profit in his time here ? Not hard to see what the 'investors' are up to really. They've hit the buffers with their latest round of advice though.
  2. Just like he persists with the wrong players in wrong positions and uncomfortable formations he also persists with these he's signed. Signed for lge 1 and belong there. It's a great human quality giving lads he likes chance after chance after chance but it's not something associated with big progress. It wouldn't be so bad if they were strictly back up but his rotation policy means they very much aren't.
  3. When was the last time we had anyone who bore their teeth ? Either in the dugout or not n the pitch.
  4. Think cavernous echo chamber, sadly. Be like Hillsborough used to be.
  5. The Venky diet is no top managers and no experienced keepers or defenders. On we trundle.
  6. We'll win this furthering the agony of where these team selections and tactics were when they were really needed. Rovers. 2. Baggies. 1
  7. It was originally likely more to do with not wanting two young lads in the center of defence together. Lenihen is obviously the better of the 2 and was further down the line so i think it's sensible they've had him out learning his stuff. A wage or some of it off the bill and the chance someone might make a good offer for him with add ons that they feel they can't turn down. I'd like to see him given an opportunity but it's probably better they get another good CH from somewhere for next season.
  8. Would have been a good time to do it not like it's going to be needed this year. Create a few jobs as well.
  9. I wouldn't be renovating it i'm not sure what they could do with it differently as it is so it's wasted money. A new stand similar to that they have at Weepdale with some decent facilities and capacity down to about 3.5k and a bit closer to the pitch it would improve atmosphere no end. If PNE could find the money to do i'm sure we could although never at the expense of the team. It would need outside investment i'm sure Vs have plenty of access to that sort of thing. Mind you the 12 million spent might as well have gone into the stand......
  10. Well he's a 5 million pound signing who he was after a while apparently so he'll keep fogging it whilst it works once in a while. Also he has 2 others very similar so that system accommodates them as well. I keep thinking there must be a reason he's splashed big money on two right sided strikers but if that's it what we see then it's not a good sign. We need a right sided version of Armstrong if he's going to persist that way. Then a replacement for Graham and eventually Dack, if he's preloaded that with Gally and Brereton he might have hamstrung us for a few years.
  11. If it was truly a front 3 like a 3 pronged attack then i think that would suit him better, probably would Brereton or Samuel as well. As it is however he sets up it always seems to end up with whoever is in that berth being wide like a winger. It's worked a couple of times and is obviously better when we attack and press but most of the time to be honest it's just codswallop. It's like a waste of a player/position we've done well to get the points we have doing that. So disjointed it looks at times.
  12. It gave them somewhere to go after the Man Utd Superstore in Preston centre shut ?
  13. When you have chance to move consistent under achievers on you move them on. Desperately clinging on just hoping something clicks isn't trying to move the club forwards. It's weak management just trying to maintain the status quo for the sake of it.
  14. Embarrassing Preston ? It's like us naming things after Ardiles or Archibald !
  15. Or Samuel or BB that berth is well covered unfortunately.
  16. Agree on Cunningham all he proved is that he was a more comfortable left back than Williams or Bell there's absolutely no guarantee he'd have kept it up all season. The signs were good but he was all at sea a few times as well, such a shame we didn't get to find out if he really was the real deal. You've highlighted the good there of TM and also one of his major weaknesses and for me the two tend to balance each other out somewhat overall. Could be worse hell yes but also should be better at times he lends to the inconsistency by being very inconsistent himself.
  17. They are just farming out their 4 th choice keeper in the hope someone will buy him that's all that's happening there.
  18. Now don't go all snowflake again already you know you got to roll with punches on here you throw enough jabs yourself. You've got rusty on the lockdown mate.
  19. We've had a long line of novice keepers since Robinson so naturally they are all going to be compared to each other until we actually sign something that is already proven. Walton are Steele are the most comparable 2 of all that line of novices and Walton is going the same way. Making constant nervous clangers with no crowd or with a crowd isn't a good sign.
  20. I think the key there Mr Know it all intk ( yeah right ) is we can't keep it up otherwise we'd be successful, no ? That's the whole point.
  21. How can it be lazy we are talking about young keepers trying to make the grade of which both were/are. Steele was 3rd choice at Boro, Walton 4th choice at Brighton, behind...... I'll agree Walton seems to better physical tools than Steele as for me that's where his main problem was. The fact he couldn't reach the halfway line with kicks gave him and the team problems that it wouldn't under a stronger guy. Other than that you have 2 keepers who are similar in a way that they make too many unforced errors off their own bat. As Tim Flowers said being a good keeper there's no secret ingredient it's all about minimizing the mistakes.
  22. If you go back and look at Steele you'll find he was ropey when he first arrived but settled down a bit for a period. He was the weakest physical keeper iv'e ever seen down there but seemed to get a bit of strength in his legs and his kicking improved. Once the GK coach John Keeley departed he seemed to go rapidly backwards again. You'll also note if you paid any attention outside of your own 'i know everything' bubble that Eastwood became decent backup under Keeley. So imo the coaching and the involvement of the coach in recruiting keepers makes a big difference. As for the clean sheets you also might want to take into account defend as a team which starts from the front so the credit for that needs sharing around surely. The comparisons with Steele are about him being equally as unreliable for spells as physically they are different. You seem impressed because Walton looks bigger that doesn't make him immune to the same sort of regular rabbit in the headlights moments.
  23. He'd have to bedded into our system first so that may take a while........
