  1. Aye that was him, well qualified for the job obviously.
  2. Exactly, play the toon way - whatever that was - or clear off no matter who you are. Similar to Spurs of years ago. Bobby Robson didn't always have it easy up there either and they'd no patience with Dalglish. The man who'd won the league numerous times and won the Prem a few years previous. If ever there was an entitled bunch it's them not 12k Rovers fans !
  3. I think Sunderland fans deserve far more credit to be honest.
  4. Membership scheme brought in by Thatcher's little glove puppet I think. Forget his name but it was another nail in many clubs efforts to boost crowds
  5. I had something in mind from being a kid that they only brought a handful here the game I saw pre Keegan. Season after when he turned about 6k came down for a night game Not sure if I'd dreamt it. Then recently some of the games popped up on YouTube and sure enough there was barely 500 of them on the old DE for not one but two games pre Keegan. Like Leeds they are no different to any other fanbase they are just from a huge area and there's more of them. It's great when you've got about 500 thousand people to draw from
  6. If potato head is actually a real Rovers fan I'm king Canute. What a crank case just here to get up everyone's hooters. Doesn't even know Rovers crowd history and now slagging off the 80s hardcore.
  7. If he'd had a wage budget of an upper half team and means to buy a few players he'd have had us up i'm sure. By that i mean a similar scenario to what we have now. He knew what he wanted from the team, wasn't always caught in 2 minds and he was the boss not the players minder. BRFC came first.
  8. Must be so difficult being a bit of a yo yo club bouncing between mid Prem and the top of the Championship for the odd season now and again.
  9. Why not just make tickets £17 per game for the run in then so it's open to everybody ?
  10. Have you got proof of this or something to back it up ? If not it never happened ?
  11. 'If' we started with the same squad i'd expect the same kind of season i think we are a 12th to 8th place set up at the min. It would need significant strengthening to get in and stay in the top 8 all season with a realistic shout at top 4. We were under achieving a bit first half of the season not helped by the constant messing around with the side and bedding in a new style. Recently though given the injuries it can be argued we were over achieving a bit but in the last few games its probably balanced out. Considering it'll be an almost new back line or a revert to Nyambie/Lenihen/Delboy/Bell and maybe a rookie in the nets i'd be thinking it'll be a similar start next season. Pity these loans can't be done on some kind of rolling deal so they automatically stay another season if they and their clubs agree.
  12. All the best to Don, still remains one of my favourite managers. Revitalized the small middle of the road club i grew up on.
  13. How has the narrative now swung to Lambert wanted rid of Rhodes ?
  14. Whilst some get accused of unrealistic expectations in regards to the team the same can be said in regards to crowds. Who do they think we are, it's Blackburn for gods sake. Just because Waggot and Mowbray have graced our club from the footballs scrapheap suddenly we should be flocking through the gates. Aye, Rovers v Wigan - always been a big draw that one.
  15. How many do you actually expect for a game like that taking place a few days before Christmas on a freezing Monday night, live on tv for what was nothing more than a mid table second tier game ?
  16. I think if you rolled Brereton, Gallagher and Samuel into one you'd have a handy player who might be a handful. However all 3 into 1 and you still wouldn't have a steady reliable goal scorer. We need to stop collecting identikit players and get someone in who can finish. And get rid of one or two of the others.
  17. Brereton might have been signed to prepare for Dacks sale. I think TM said as much in an interview ages ago. However that's just in monetary terms ie front loading knowing you'll cover the fee at some point. In football terms no way. Pretty certain they thought they were getting a whizz kid ready to burst onto the scene only to quickly realise that was very far from the case. The way Mowbray has used him suggests he either sees him as a right sided wide striker or he's kept cameoing him there to spare his own blushes knowing he isn't up to being a centre forward. In any event he'll never fill the Dack role in the he team no one to play off for a start. There'll have to be yet another formation next season to go with a new back line !
  18. Planet India and its advisers ( one of which might just have been the guy who signed him )
  19. Exactly what i was going to mention, when there is real be;lief in the team a couple of thousand extra pitch up towards the end of the season, always have. There's no real belief because this side is so up and down and the disjointed nature of it only adds to that in peoples minds with a lot probably just expecting safety first football. Where there should be a bit of a buzz and belief there is nervous hope. Continuing good results could alter that though but the live tv will probably take the edge off it in terms of numbers.
  20. The top and bottom of it is he elected to direct his available funds elsewhere. Then used what was left for loans in goal and defence. The loans have so far worked out far better than the investments so maybe we should be thankful. Including wages and alleged loan fees it's still another chunk of money gone down the hole though. If we get to the play offs the gamble has worked. Still doesn't take away from the fact it's more newbies to bed in across the back line wasting about half of next season again doing so. Possibly of less quality budget depending.
  21. Brown on sausage or pies Red on bacon or egg butty
  22. In his mind they are because he's signed them all. The cold reality of it is we will be hanging our hat on Dack being fit and firing again whilst just hoping one of the mentioned suddenly steps up several gears. In other words a repeat of this season.
  23. No they probably don't hero worship him like you do however we've been told they set the budget and more or less leave it down to him. So it's his call not this fallacy of they won't buy defenders. Again purposely missing the point that isn't the issue here.
  24. And that's highly unlikely to happen so all change again.
  25. The tenner deals are proven to work very well when there is something to play for or celebrate. They'd work well for big opposition, rivals, bank holiday games as well but the away fans coin is more important at Ewood. Mid season, night games, tv games, bog standard opposition combined with boring football it only has limited appeal like these bundles. That's the way it is.
