Picked up the first edition of the new Rovers programme on Saturday. The new cover design features an old map of Blackburn and this week had a picture of Danny Graham and Blackburn Cathedral. It seems each edition will feature a different player and 'landmark' of the area on the cover.

Got me wondering how on earth they are going to manage to find 24-26 landmarks from Blackburn to have on each programme cover this season.

Expect to see Darwen Tower, Town Hall, King George's Hall, Railway Station, after that can't think of many other things they could use.

They manage all that but somehow failed to give any ticket details for Bradford away

You have to ask yourself, why are they here?

can only be a vehicle for the rest of their group, maybe a vehicle to launder money?  They are not interested in football in fact completely disinterested.   I would love to see the accounts for the club over the last 6 years but don't expect to.

if these sharks don't sling their hook quick, I think we are finished as a club.

    sad, sad days!

I said last season that if we went down to league 1 under this lot we'd be finished as a club. At the very best we've 1 chance to bounce back this season and that rests on Mowbray which is worrying.

After this season it's curtains for the foreseeable believe me.

  3. It did get stick on here and quite rightly at times it was painful party line treading stuff but it was the content not it's existence that got stick. I'd imagine it was mainly aimed at the community in  general and those who for whatever reason couldn't attend otherwise why have it in the first place ?

Not as if 20 thousand people sat at the match had earplugs in listening to it. Therefore it's a community service axed imo.

Poor form yet again from the clueless suits, how much does multi millionaire Bob put back into the club ?

My understanding was that media services were 'outsourced' to a company which operated everything for the club. I think that bloke Neil Yardley was the one behind it (Creatv).

    http://www.creatv.co.uk/broadcast/

I expect this arrangement won't come cheap and attempts to save money on that front might ne the reason behind it stopping.

The cost of running a radio station for a few hours on a matchday might not be so much but the cost of outsourcing all media duties to a 3rd party will cost. Clearly no-one at the club is capable of sorting out themselves.

Another legacy of our Premier League days which was always going to end eventually whilst in the 2nd and 3rd tiers.

So the first thing they do is dump it instead of looking at other ways of maybe operating it and financing it, pathetic but typical of the pass the buck culture at Ewood. Likes of Cheston & co hiding behind the audit on one hand and the owners on the other, not our fault gov just doing as we are told.

Surely they could have sought a sponsor for it or something along those lines all this oh it's ok get on ifollow or stream or whatever is just typical of the clueless thinking down there, clubs now aimed at the few not the many. Many across Blackburn & Darwen won't have the option of anything internet based particularly the older generation but the attitude is if you can't pay for what's on offer screw you.

    Community club ?

  5. I'm sure they could have downgraded the radio station a bit without completely scrapping it. One commentator is enough and they are shooting themselves in the foot a bit seeing as it was the clubs biggest propaganda machine in recent times.

How much is the license to broadcast ?  Probably less than servicing and cleaning one vehicle of the fat mans car collection

  6. DO NOT RUIN THIS WITH STUPID TICKET PRICES CHESTON   or it'll fall on it's arse if it's on TV.

For once come up with something imaginative to fill the place up, won't be a full house but 18 to 20k should be achievable if the price is right. Leave the BBE upper tier closed unless there is demand to keep the other sections as full as possible to help atmosphere and stick the majority of the visiting horde in the upper tier of the DE if their allocation is restricted.

Oh and tell the police to do one if they start talking bubbles, they don't run the football club. Time for some spine here.

  7. Mike Cheston is currently doing cartwheels naked across his living room under his life sized ceiling picture of fat Barry.

Blackburn police are already drawing up the bill on a cost plus 50% basis and looking for as many ways as possible to ruin the fixture.

Mulgrew is interesting. My worry is his ability lets him think he can coast through certain games. He is an international centre half and has looked good in games I have seen him play in V England and Germany. He just needs to get motivated and focus on every game...

Yes no doubting he's a cultured player more of a thinking defender than blood and thunder so get a couple of those types around him and he'll be fine. I don't think he lacks the motivation it's just the type of player he is, slightly laid back.

Mulgrew is such a classy player but I've never seen him play a game at the back and not get caught out, he should be in front of the back four but not sure we can accommodate him there or have anyone else to play at the back!

Noticed that when he first came he's a bit of a ball watcher too casual at times although I put that down to the championship settling in period for him but maybe not. We desperately need some win the ball first ask questions later type defenders we are so lead footed at the back, it'll keep proving costly. We are going to end up needing to score 3 or 4 to win games again !

Winning is the most important thing in every game. Dig below that though and we did look really susceptible at the back particularly in the first half when Raya made a couple of smart saves. I am far from convinced by three at the back. One of the main differences between Saturday and last night was the width we had going forward. The passing was a lot better than at Southend. Mulgrew hurt himself early on and carried on for much of the game although he went straight down the tunnel when he was substituted for treatment.

Coventry were decent but the third goal killed them off and spared us the agony of extra time for what was a road work Laden drive home.

3 at the back in away games in the league is very much a no no from me it just doesn't suit these players. All at sea when Cov attacked at times from highlights I've seen although they gradually got to grips with it but in a league game with more robust opponents we could have been 2 or 3 down again.

Great attacking effort and the football flowed at times but just as Southend presented a challenge we maybe didn't need on opening day Coventry are the opposite, just the type of team you need to be playing away in the cup to get the season underway.

He might be ok as a backup CB, especially if we stick with 3 at the back but he's never a full back or wing back.

I'll go along with that although i'd prefer to avoid the 3 at the back if poss, we aren't good enough to carry it off imo.

Good effort tonight, much needed confidence boosting win altho oppo has to be taken into account.

Not bad travelling support considering Saturday's shambles.

It's a cracking effort yet again i'd have expected 2/300 I remember Brum only bringing 160 to Ewood in early rounds of this when we were both in the Prem.

If you's are not comfortably amoung the top 3 positions come Xmas time, he will be gone. And rightly so.

I don't get this fascination with TM. He's not that good of a manager. There's so many decent managers at this level, who aren't star names, but who would get the very best out of your squad, and get you's out of this league at the first attempt. I'd even back our perma-tanned gaffer to do the business for you.

The times that perma tanned gimp raced on the pitch at Ewood whenever Bolton scored here no ta :P

He's a turkey but he's found his niche now so leave him down there and hope he takes Southend places we've had more than enough 'it's all about me' type managers that's why TM is proving popular with fans. That won't wash very much longer if he doesn't get his team gathering results though.
