  1. FFS - so poor from Lenihan. Outmuscled way too easily there.
  2. Nyambe has had Ayew in his pocket so far this game.
  3. Started fairly well here. Armstrong fluffed a great chance he created for himself, and Brereton could have sent Elliott clean through but put too much on it. Swansea look more open which bodes well for us - certainly going to be goals in this game. Hopefully more for us than them!
  4. Hmm the Rovers Match Centre lineup has Elliott Bennett listed in the lineup, but just realised it must be a typo and they mean Harvey Elliott. I was actually surprised and confused to see Benno's name given he was on crutches on Tuesday!
  5. The reaction to the lineup on here is much milder than I expected given both Bennett and Evans are starting!!
  6. This is exactly what I thought in terms of our performance and setup against Reading. I think we should stick with the 4-3-3 setup for most games, but I don't see a reason why we can't change it around for some games given the versatility and depth we have in our squad now. Given Reading are in top form and top of the league, it would have been the perfect time to actually respect the opponent and setup in a way to nullify their strengths. I don't see why we couldn't have gone with a 3-4-1-2 (for example), bringing Nyambe in as a 3rd CB instead of Evans in midfield, and had Douglas and JRC as the wingbacks.
  7. Reading is an example of what a consistent team gets you. They've had the same centre back partnership, same centre midfield partnership and same GK playing in every game. In fact, only their RB has been changed regularly. Their front 4 has been fairly stable, but they've been switched around on form. Compare that to us and we've had different combinations at the back and midfield in every game. It creates instability and it's why we are in so much disarray in some games. We've only had a consistent front 3 this season and that's why we are topping the goalscoring charts. This was a horrendous performance though. Ayala, Kaminski and Rothwell need to come back into the side on the weekend and we will get a win.
  8. Would love to have either of the Reading fullbacks in our squad.
  9. I'd be tempted to bring Nyambe on for Evans and move JRC into the middle. His delivery has been good, it's his defending that's atrocious.
  10. JRC was the one who dived in. Lenihan was just way too far up the pitch for some reason.
  11. I don't know what happened to Lenihan. He has been one of my favourite players of the past few years, but he has a string of poor performances at the back now and absolutely must be dropped. Him and JRC both equally culpable for the 2nd and 3rd goals for me. You can see why Reading are hard to breakdown... the team is full of pace, so they get back in numbers very quickly. If we got a 2nd goal before half time I think we could have turned it around, but not so sure now.
  12. Tbh, can't blame the manager for the injuries we have. We are badly missing Kaminski and Ayala who would come in for Lenihan and Pears. Evans wouldn't be playing if Johnson or Travis were fit. Nyambe should be on instead of JRC, but it would be very difficult to drop JRC after a good game against Coventry. It's just the Rovers curse for me... we can never make it easy for ourselves.
  13. We absolutely have to score before halftime. Good spell at the moment, but we need a goal at the end of it.
  14. This is shocking. 3 clumsy goals really. Reading are flying down their left flank and JRC can't cope with the pace. Needs to come off at half time for Nyambe.
  15. This is a winning team's mentality. Equalise immediately after conceding a bizarre goal.
  16. Good news that Ejaria is out. Makes this game easier for us. I reckon 2-1 to us.. surely Joao will grab 1 for them given his form.
  17. Looks like it will be showing in Australia not sure about other regions. Boro game next week will be unavailable via iFollow though unfortunately.
  18. How good is our midfield right now? It’s light years away from the days of Lowe, Williamson, Murphy, Etuhu etc.
  19. I would bring him in for Trybull instead personally, at this stage at least. Johnson was back to his best against Coventry and has a fantastic start to the season making it hard to drop him. Trybull was good but unspectacular against Coventry.
  20. He looked very good against Coventry but I think he struggles against faster attackers. It’s good having him compete with Nyambe for the RB spot because they offer very different options. Bell and Nyambe are pacey, physical options on the flanks while JRC and Douglas are slower but offer much better creative outlets and support. Gives us great options to mix it up depending on the opposition.
