Obviously he couldn't or that would be what he would have done, unless of course through newness he thought he might have been able to motivate Benny into acting professionally. -

Correct. He's always had a hissy fit and threatened to leave when he's been dropped. He must be so thick that he cannot see that all his best press reports are when he has come off the bench as sub or come back into the starting line up for some reason. Does his contract allow him to leave in Jan? If he does go then Benny will have to stay. -

Right on cue eddie!!! You don't half put your foot in it with amazing regularity. Ramsey ditched the wingers and effectively played 4-3-3 with 3 strikers. He was derided for his team of 'wingless wonders' until Bobby Moore lifted the World Cup that is. Yesterday 2nd half SA did the same. Talking crap about football eddie? You are the master. -

Fascinating insight into human behaviour. Compulsive viewing but goodness only knows how it took 10 people to produce it. Very similar to the compulsion of watching 7Up. -

Nobody does that anymore. They'd miss the big pay-out. -
Not CL but I can only assume that the referee for the Roma v Fulham match is significantly wealthier now than he was yesterday.

I'm glad that now your own thread is closed that you have clicked around and found out how incredibly stupid many of those you thought of as your devotees are. I've had to put up with the thick sods for bloody years! Can you not find some column space to publish some of the most ludicrous comments for the nation? It'd be a laff if nowt else. -

There you go again eddie..... I had directed that question at meangreenmachine. Why do you feel the need to interrupt? Tell you what ...... If I want to know how many players are in a football team, where the centre circle is or even where the corner flags are positioned I promise I'll ask you....... is that OK? -
Don't you mean better ozzie?

Sometimes I think it would have been better to stick with Ince and have let him take us down. We'd have found our rightful place in English football, crowds would have halved, we'd have had to decide whether to have another pint int th'avvy or go to the match at about 3.05, but at least we'd be well rid of the moaners and the johnny cum lately's and the Mancs would be saddled with them. btw.....Quote "Or sam is maybe trying to fit players into his 'system' not find a system for his players?" Can you rem Alf Ramseys team winning the World Cup? I can and it hasn't happened since cos over the past 40 years our national managers have been weak and influenced more by FA politics than the intention of the exercise, the press pick their team of press darlings almost exclusively from the big 4 for them and they end up playing media favourites out of position and rendering them and the team ineffective. -

Kinell! -
Superb strike followed by a cross so bad that it goes out of play on the far side and suggests his boot is the shape of a 50p piece. Sublime to the ridiculous.

It's not me that is suggesting it is black and white. It's all the others who think we can cherry pick players contracts. -

C'mon SG (and others) use the old grey matter. Benny has intimated that he wants to go and to the best of my knowledge Jason Roberts hasn't! How the hell can we sell Roberts (or anyone else for that matter) if he decides to stay and see out his contract? This isn't 'Premiership manager' you know. Amazing how people come on here and scream about a lack of loyalty of our players when they choose to transfer out. Ex players get Judas Neill / One greedy barsteward / etc etc yet as soon as someone like Roberts / Ped / has a drop in form we have to rip up his contract and bundle him out of the door asap. ffs! Well done that man........ An island of common sense in a sea of idiocy. -

You do have a point. And that is a stat that I'd not have foreseen with SA in charge. Nobody found Notlob's defense all that generous did they? -

1. Only a woman could have come up with that analogy. 2. The team comes before any individual majiball you must know that. 3. Do we reduce the effectivness and possibly deflate our currently most effective player to make way for a square peg (albeit a very talented one) or do we keep the very talented but physically unfit square peg on the subs bench where imo he will prob have more impact. Lets face it whilst very talented neither Dunny nor Benny are in shape for a full on 90 mins of rem football are they? Neither are ideally suited to the centre forward role and both become much more ineffective if they are asked to play deep. 4. How do we fare defensively if we attempt to play them both? -

It's a quandary. BM is the best and most natural striker that we have but he doesn't appear to be willing to even attempt to adapt his game for the benefit of the tactics and team. -

I know what you are saying but surely not when you bear in mind Di Santo going back to the Bridge. -
Finally ate in Rishtons 'Auberge' with er indoors last night Abbey. Loved it too. More fool me for not following your recommendation sooner. Unfortunately at 8.30 on a Wed night there was only one other couple in. Dunno if that is the norm but if so it might be a case of use it or lose it. No doubt this restaurant would thrive if it was anywhere else. Anywhere between Preston and Lpool on the A59 for example and it would make a killing. I'll certainly be going again.
