  1. Be much simpler nowadays...... gav'll be in't pub with waggy!
  2. A quick slurp in Barzooka being the operative phrase Bryan........... or have I just made it even worse?
  3. Thanks Kamy I will look it up. btw is that the double fronted restaurant 50 yards past the Shandar towards Bastwell? If so I have had a take away from there. Went in the excellent Barzooka for a 'quickie' of a diffrent kind whilst I waited too.
  4. Indeed you are right Kamy. Bukhara was deemed too far to go for a 'quickie' take away tonight so Shad house was selected instead. Tasty enough but the food was absolutely swimming in oil and the lamb was tough enough to be old sheep imo.
  5. This.... Afghani Lamb strtrs then this for main.. Gosht Alu Bukhara [MEDIUM / HOT] Lamb cooked with onions, tomatoes and a spicy plum sauce But having tasted other dishes I could quite easily select something else. btw I've seen that leg of lamb being served on the next table Kamy. It certainly looks impressive.
  6. The best in this area by far. I don't think it's expensive at all. 5 starters, 6 main courses, (no sweets / coffee) with bottled water / soft drink was £63 last time I went in Nov.
  7. Correct. Also given that a huge amount of organic food is imported how do the Soil Association checks work with that? We've recently seen the Melamine scandal in Chinese baby milk, Dioxins in Irish meat, God only knows the situation with anti-biotics used in meat production overseas (anti-biotic use banned in the UK and eu), widespread and continuing use of animal by-products in food production (Meat and Bone meal,l Blood meal etc) in many countries ... the USA included here despite recent headlines that nvCJD may still be a ticking time bomb. The continuing farce with 'free range eggs' beggars belief! Kerzillions of eggs have been sold as 'free range' since the 1960's when intensive egg production by caged birds was first introduced despite laying hens rarely seeing the outside world and almost never a blade of grass. The supermarkets screw down the prices so much that producers have in many cases no option but to cheat and then screw huge prices out of misguided consumers. The term 'Fair Trade' when uttered in the same sentence as the word 'supermarket' is laughable and should really start within our own shores. There is little 'fair' in the tactics used by supermarkets in bludgeoning their suppliers until the pips squeak and screwing ever increasing profits that do not make it to the shelf and the consumer but rather to the pockets of the shareholders. Le Chuck no offence meant but the naivety displayed in your post is staggering.
  8. Thanks Pugg. BUT I did actually purchase a corporate mid-week package at the local golf club in July. Basically it only allows me to play Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Extending it to Saturdays was never an option within that particular package.............. otherwise ????
  9. Good post. 'Local' Milk is a prime example. Here is the bullsh1t that is fed to the public..... http://www.tesco.com/regionalsourcing/localchoicemilk.asp These are the facts behind the smell http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/england/6264568.stm This is just a single example of how the large supermarkets motivation is purely profit based and sweet FA to do with issues surrounding green / environmental / fair trade / local suppliers / animal welfare etc etc. We are all being 'legally' duped. btw Just found this http://www.tescopoly.org/
  10. Dunno. But he has a bloody sight better chance that Ince of KEEPING us there. btw I've already requested that you stop using those smilies now that you are so anti BRFC. Only they simply don't fit with the content and manner of your posts anymore.
  11. No. It enjoys (ed?) a fine reputation though. I nearly did eat there once and didn't for reasons unknown now, but traipsing all that way for a feed is not my cup of tea any longer. Went to the 3 Millstones at West Bradford a couple of months back and that was 80 quid each way in a taxi. Granted it was an 8 seater (for 8) but I still felt like I had donkey ears on.
  12. Time for a blanket ban on players talking to the press other than with a club representative present. No need for all this crap right now with the transfer window about to open.
  13. Sounds good. Thanks. btw I've just cut and pasted that into my 'recipe' folder...... 'Pauls Turkey'...... AND I even resisted the temptation to use the indefinite article Paul . The season of goodwill must really have descended upon me!
  14. I hate that too. I'm suprised food standards lot allow it. The clog does need to re-vitalise the menu (maybe waiting till after Christmas) but not necessarily make it more extensive. I'm with Paul but on menu's more does not always mean better. As for few veggie options........... who cares? In fact it serves the buggggers right! I must say I frequently opine about which food is the biggest rip off...... Most Chinese dishes are expensive but contain very little meat, IndoPak food uses very uses cheap low quality meat, Italian food = lots of pasta a sauce, organic food is a complete nonsense etc etc BUT imo veggie food is about the biggest rip off going..... but as I said edarlier who cares?
  15. I've some second hand golf clubs to sell if you are stuck for something to do on Saturdays wagster! Waggy your problems started when you refused to change your views on Paul Ince. No one can defend the indefensible.
  16. Crikey you passed a lot of places to eat en route!
  17. T' Clog must be the mboard favourite. I saw ES was in there recently. And Clog blue was in at 7ish. I went there at 9.00pm just for a few pints of Wainrights and a chat with numerous and varied aquaintances who had all been dining. If you'd been a bit later Paul I'd have stood you a pint or three and you could have ditched the bike.
  18. I'd likely advise everybody eat at home from now to the second week of January.
  19. Waggy you're flogging a dead horse.
  20. The number of school closures because of a dusting of snow is ridiculous. Sending kids home when their parents are at work is wicked and simply an abandonment of responsibility.
  21. Bukhara eat in tonight. Just about as good as it gets food wise. .........They still need a good lager or two mind.
  22. I doubt he'll even be here. It's a tough time for him and especially so when he is here and so far away from his home and family when he must have known how ill his father was.
  23. Went there on spec soon after it opened, couldn't get a table and for some reason have never been back. Sounds like I should.
  24. I wouldn't describe the Nabs Head as a restaurant Tris. It's just a village pub with pub grub and decent enough ale that does cheap and cheerful meals on a Monday night. It's not really somewhere that you would choose to dine on a Saturday night or for a special occasion.
