Eh? Is that a question? If so the answer's probably Peter or Gallagher. ....... Or have they a thread each somewhere that I should be answering on? -

He'd be bloody cheap and we cannot afford to be be choosy and he is just the type that Hughes could turn into a top player. I rem the Clough / Taylor partnership doing much the same with many misfits and bad boys at Forest (Stan Bowles being the notable exception) and he won them the European Cup! Bellamy I must say that I wouldn't have minded us signing him when he was playing well. Mokoena / Reid have not replaced the Flitcroft role nor anywhere near and we need to. BUT for one reason or another his form has suffered since his 'troubles'. ...... btw anybody see the film Clockwork Orange? -

C'mon Flopsy. Show some common sense, imo the pair are inextricably linked in most supporters minds from the Academy / Souness / Div 1 promotion days when they were 2 of our 3 crown jewels. New threads are not encouraged on similar subjects so I suggest that the issue is that you may have a conflict between guidelines 11 and 14. -

I think 'insensitive' may have been a more appropriate description for you to use rather than 'cretinous' Shillitoe. imo I do think you are being a little over sensitive in this instance. -

ANY CLUB with a large debt would be in the sh1t. The groundrules would shift enormously. imo the TV money did BRFC no favours anyway. Instead of just the usual billy big times it suddenly made every club in the Prem at least as rich as us. All the TV money did was allow clubs in the Prem to elbow the Italians, spanirds and krauts aside and sign the worlds best players. -

They probably thought that in 1957. Actually the wave of sympathy after that crash absolutely made Man Utd. Up till then they were just another 1st Div club. Sympathy, abolishment of the max wage, El Beatle (Georgie Best) and home crowds keeping the gate receipts in that chronological order all swung the balance of power toward Old Trafford..... Icing on the cake in terms of bent refs and Fergietime came much later. -

Whether it was a mountain bike and he used the bridle path from Hurst Green to Dinckley I don't know. But I seem to rem Tugay was allowed on one in Germany! -

I've not heard that but it fits. Strange that he apparently was known to frequently cycle from Hurst Green to Brockhall when he was here. -

Forget Duff, he's not enough left in the tank that will offer any improvement to BRFC. He'll just eat up wages whilst lying on the treatment table. I know this a place to air opinions but Shillitoe your's are increasingly ludicrious. -
S'never been any different.

Obvious .... it's about keeping people away from the bar in busy pubs and getting them to form orderly queues. How about one of those tickety thingys that they have in supermarket butchers counters? That'd put the likes of Lucas Neill firmly in his place I'm sure.
-
Good point Lathund. Darth Paul you really should be out trying to organise people to stand in a long line whilst you explain to them your odd but commendable queue based system of getting drinks in the Knowles Arms when there has never ever been one before. "After you my good man"....... "No not at all Sir, after you I noticed that you were here a smidgeon before I") . I cannot imagine Vinny would be impressed at the slow beer sales caused by your queue of punters all the way back to Brownhill roundaout. Sorry for that but my heads a little woolly this morning from my one night a year out I'm afraid.
-
All the usual new player spin for his new fanbase rather than actual reasons for his old fanbase. He's hardly going to tell the WHU hordes that he's only gone cos they offered more than anybody else is he? He'd be public enemy No 1 before a ball was even kicked. Don't forget he'd been at Millwall so he had to be doubly careful with local sensibilities. Don't tell me that you were fooled by it all Smithy?
-
I take it you must struggle to 'get out' most nights too Lathund!
-
Please help me out here .............. can anybody ever remember seeing a 'queue' in a busy pub? btw Why are you being so personal Darth Paul? I do manage to get out occasionally you know.
-
If you are a child there is no need to apologise rover2u. But if you are over 18 then sorry but I'm not accepting it. Moving on...... How naive and narrow minded some people are. Take the blinkers off. There is little room loyalty in football at this level. Need evidence? It looks like Hughes will ferk Tugay off this summer after giving him just a 12 month contract last summer, but if Tugay had gone to a rival club last year for a 2 year contract no doubt the 'loyalists' on the blackburn End would all be booing him when he turned up. What about Brad? If Hughes had only offered him a 12 month extension last fortnight and Bolton for example had offered him a two year one would we all queue up to boo him when he turned out for the trotters? Financial gain is what professional players play fof for goodnes sake. As it happens I'm with Hasta in that I'm not fussed whether Lucas Neill comes back to BRFC or not, BUT his cupped ear gesture was hardly all that terrible was it? It was in response to lots of grief and barracking from so-called supporters. Barracking that had been going on since the beginning of the season from some quarters and was building in intensity every week. You spout about loyalty and looking in mirrors rover2u so answer the folowing questions.......... 1. Whatever happened to loyally supporting the blue and white shirt whoever is wearing it whilst a game is in progress? 2. How about booing Mark Hughes? Rem it was Hughes that kept picking Lucas Neill to play. (imo they had a mature respect for each other and had done a deal between themselves to minimise damage to BRFC and within the same framework to allow Neill to maximise his earning power). 3. Neill as a refreshing change to most players wanting away was sticking to his obligations contained within that contract. Compare that to just about everybody else thats moved for financial gain. Away you go rover2u.

OK no abuse (although I wasn't aware that I'd been abusive anyway). When you've a minute though please expand upon the sentence in bold. I'm unclear which part of employment law you have taken that from.
-
So it wasn't the drink.
-
'We'? How childish and embarrassing! Since when has anybody's choice of workplace been anything to do with you or anyone else? I just hope for your own future self esteem that it was the drink that fomented the bravado and that you are feeling stupid now.
-
Maybe Bowyer too. Thing is those players have been spoiled now. They will never get the same money that the eggman paid anywhere else so they are always likely to be disgruntled. Daft of course but all things are relative. btw Lucas Neill was out drinking in Blackburn last weekend.
