  1. Had 2 x gammon and chips one Monday night on that bogof night. Good food and excellent value if one does not mind partaking in a feeding frenzy of bargain hunters.
  2. ? Top club players without doubt. Three of those players however are top quality at international level. Gerrard is not.
  3. But certainly not the misfortune to write eh Paul?
  4. That must be galling. What was the food like?
  5. I've been there too. It's good. Unfortunately they must have spent a fortune on the excellent terrace at the rear and we've just suffered the two worst summers in living memory. It'll be superb in a really good spell of summer weather. Odd that it's right next door to another Italian, have you been there?
  6. Ditto for Charles Lawton's excellent Quasimodo...... Or double ditto for that 'monster' in the Goonies.
  7. Might be wrong smithy and I'm making no judgement but I guess he'd have suffered more than a few choice comments from his fellow (butter wouldn't melt in their mouths) Evertonians in the stands. As for selling his story and pics to OK..... Save your pity for the intellectual derelicts that buy it. Without those amoeba brained clowns he'd be lucky to sell a picture of his kid to his bloody mother! Leave em all alone cos they deserve each other. Don't blame
  8. I had high hopes for McEverly at one stage but his career went rapidly downhill after a spell at Burnley. Something else to dislike em for.
  9. Beware the 'halal monitoring committee' which displays it's logo at the bottom of the page rather suprisingly does not appear to exist.
  10. Anyone been to that club at the bottom of West Park Road?
  11. I bumped into another member of long standing (that I've not seen since Bayer away) in there Tues night celebrating a very important birthday. btw Tris the Clog and Billy only accept bookings for parties of 6 or more. Everybody else just has to wait their turn for a table in the bar.
  12. Hardly looks like he has much to contribute to society anymore other than being just another burden on the rest.
  13. I thought 'roasting' only came into being since the Prem started?
  14. Yes most definitely if he is driving a Black Veyron or similar with darkened windows.
  15. Don't highlight the wealth and background Philip and I'm sure you'll agree that they probably all have one thing in common. All will be weak minded wastrals and part of 21st century life's increasing human flotsam and jetsam.
  16. Isn't it because 90% of the entire country resembles a worked out quarry? As for class A drugs I don't think they'll ever be stopped even with the death penalty for dealers and long term imprisonment for users. So just try to keep your kids on the right track, clean and safe from users and take heart that the more wasted druggies there are about the more of life's advantages will be available to you and yours. It's a broad and cynical brush but rem Heaven helps them that help themselves.
  17. Name dropping here but I've just dined tonight in MPW's 'Yew Tree' in Highclere, Bucks. Very nice it was too, but no better than the Millstones at Mellor........ and just about twice the price.
  18. Hot pot? Oddly along with tripe, black pudding and mutton dishes you'll find that only at the the more expensive ones! You'll find all 3 on the menu at the Clog and Billycock.
  19. This is spooky CLB... I had my wedding reception elsewhere but spent my wedding night at the Millstone. Thought I was being sneaky and secretive but was grassed up by the only person I trusted with that info and woke up to find my car had been 'decorated' during the night. You reading this Wiggy?
  20. Nice to hear a good report about the Butlers cos they do have a battle on. I went to the Millstone at Mellor last night for a retro change from the Clog and Billycock where just about every buggger is going at the moment! (Truth is I feel a bit of sympathy for the other excellent eateries in the area now that Northcotes 'playground bully' has opened.) Excellent bar food yet again. This place is vastly underrated and whilst the Clog is good, professional and currently in vogue socially I still cannot find better and more reliable local fare than the Millstone.
  21. Wot No Khyber! Oldest and obviously the best. ..... or do I mean 'luckiest'?
  22. Thats a problem with places like that, reputations take years to make and a day to lose. I won't go to Angels on the Rib - Longridge road because a pal had a very poor eating experience.
  23. Went there once just after it opened. Party of 6 and we were all 'underwhelmed'.
  24. So does that mean the under 6's are not welcome?
