  1. Do you never think to question your own judgement when your pre-conceived thoughts are continually proven wrong gumboots?
  2. One of my reservations about signing him. He sounded very 'near to the edge' on the Gaby Logan interview. Otherwise he's the type that Brian Clough would have made into a star.
  3. Clayton St Chippy in Gt Harwood is legendary for 'proper' fish and chips! You really need a flat cap to get in though and the waiter is a mad keen dingle. Last time I spoke to him his daughter was going out with a mad keen BRFC fan from Darren.
  4. Just guessing but was it the Brown Cow? I'm going next week so if I rem I'll ask em. Been once and I thought it was quite reasonably priced. I heard a story about the Mulberry Tree (if the chef / owner is still there) is that he imports the spuds for his chips from Italy.
  5. The answers in the post above.
  6. Superb game and brilliant entertainment even for people who have little interest in football. BUT we would enjoy far more spectacles like this if the champions League reverted to it's old format of a knock out competition between Champions ONLY. The league stages of the Champions league are just a procession, as dull as dishwater and designed solely to allow the big clubs from 3 countries only through.... with a little lip service paid to Bayern. It's mostly crap now.
  7. It appears that good old BRFC playing to SA's instruction and rather unluckily losing to a late goal at OT have showed the rest of football the way to beat Man Utd and started the rot. Don't simply stand in awe of the forwards but weigh in on the defence and in particular the increasingly suspect Nemander Vidic, the increasingly injury prone Ferdinand and whoever is standing in the right back position at any given time. Simple.
  8. Exactly eddie. I couldn't have put it better myself.
  9. Pathetic, childish, unpatriotic and ignorant! Why am I not suprised to read that? He never was any good and how he kept Tugay out of Rangers midfield beggars belief. I guess that viewing Tugay as compensation is some recompense for the sting that Rangers and Ferguson worked on us.
  10. No roj. Went to Nico's new one in Barrow last week though. Decor good, Strtr good mains just OK. He'll need to get a shift on with such fierce competition in Clitheroe not to mention across the road at the Spread Eagle. They are swamping Clitheroe with Italian restaurants. What gives? Some will end in tears.
  11. I can walk Tris but it's just got too bloody busy. btw Clog's certainly good but personally I still prefer the food and ambience at the Millstone in Mellor.
  12. I don't mind a bit of temper, it's shows a strong desire to win. Maybe this is why he is our only genuine world class player. Rooney was ill advised of course to throw the ball as he did but I can understand his frustration and it would have been easily forgiveable if he had not been on one yellow already. The fact he was does display a certain stupidity. At least 1. Fergy's man management has at least stopped him punching opponents. 2. The ref has a 'Rooney Red' on his cv.
  13. Can't be bothered travelling much nowadays so about a £20 taxi home max as a rule..... and that usually after some negotiation.
  14. Thanks Tris. As opposed to idolising the last one .... Oh and his boss I assume! btw Sounds like you have become a closet manager hater..... (last paragraph) http://www.brfcs.co.uk/mb/index.php?s=&amp...st&p=740666
  15. Cos it is. The address used to be just Pleasington but now it's Billinge End Road, Pleasington. The boundary between Blackburn and Pleasington where Billinge End Road used to start is a stream about 200 yards up the road from t'clog. Boundary changes moved Pleasi from Lancashire to Blackburn a number of years ago.
  16. That was good when it first opened but it looked awfully run down last time I went past Kamy. What went wrong?
  17. Don't get so excited Abbey...... I understand the 'roaches were hallal so it'd be perfectly acceptable to lots on here who don't object to such cruelty.
  18. Harrison could really leather the ball with little apparent effort but just how would they measure that in the 60's? I rem they made a big fuss with the latest technology in the 74 world cup when it was found by freeze frame cameras that Lorimer of LUFC had the hardest shot in world football.
  19. No Den...... In Ronnies absence you have the floor.
  20. I don't rem him but Mike Harrison was my earliest hero.
  21. eh? Careful what you wish for Hannah......... If I was your Dad I might still be bathing you!
  22. Recession? What recesion?
  23. I've eaten there twice (yonks ago) and it's been fine. Too bloody small though.
  24. Hence the old saying.......... Form is temporary, class is permanent.
