[Archived] Recent Departures

Me. Accomplished Woy player with an excellent 1st touch and passing ability. Not sure if he was quick enough or tough enough for the Prem though. -
Do a search then Gobshite. A little research wont do any harm will it? It's on the board somewhere (which if you followed the Rovers (?) on here at the time you would know) . When viewed from the vid clip behind him it's obvious that it was an accidental collision and that VP actually turned into Todds arm. Without the aid of vid technology it might be questionable BUT with it there is absolutely no case to judge to anyone with the benefit of normal vision and an open mind......... and I suspect you know it well enough. If you cannot see that you are indeed stupid! It was obvious at the time that the FA were under severe media pressure to hang him out to dry and we all now that they would have if they could. So what exactly made them let him off do you think? What do you think silenced the media dogs too? Or has that question been covered up by the blind prejudice that obviously controls your limited thought processes?

He can strike a dead ball well right enough, but as for the Wigan goal it's a case of one swallow does not make a summer imo. He really needs to stop trying to hit it too hard. -
Personally I count that as a God Almighty let off! He's so useless that I would still prefer Woy over him! Plus he would have plundered lots more bunce from JW's 'Rovers fund'. That Swedish buggerwould've bankrupt Croesus if he could have ffs!

thenodrog replied to EIEIEIO's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Becks used to have a quiet game against us simply because he was instructed to help Neville with Damien Duff who was our main threat. Similarly MGP spent much of the time tracking back to cover Gray marking Ronaldo. If Ronaldo is suspended next wed I imagine MGP will be given a much free'er (is that a word?) role. -
Speak for yourself Flopsy. I dont value his opinion at all, he is just a numb **** who knows absolutely fcku all and who is getting on my t1ts. Whether he is young or stupid ...or likely both, I don't care, but to say Todd is dirty is pathetic! Hard maybe but there is a world of difference between that and dirty as anybody with an ounce of football knowledge will surely know.

Exactly. The situation was crying out for Tugay to exploit the width of the pitch. ALSO we were suckered into giving away far too many silly fouls in our own half. I have seen Notlob play for fouls when in this situation before. When they are lumping free kicks into the box for their big guys any advantage of having 11 v 10 goes right out of the window. And especially so after they have gained their usual 3-4 yards on every free kick. The linesman in the second half was almost in dereliction of duty in ignoring their ploys to gain ground.

I bet souey is not exactly at the front of the queue to provide the concrete evidence that Newell is asking for.

I think for some reason the authorities had had word that there would be trouble as unusually there was more police about and it seemed there were security guys in black bomber jackets in strategic positions. -
I've a sneaky feeling that Boro might be the suprise relegation package this season. Arry and his new bunce should see Pompey safe, West Brom are used to scrapping for survival and Boro are well short on defenders and team spirit.

Dickov is at the top of the leading scorers list numpty! -
Then again........ Potless yet they ARE still in Europe (and after Christmas too) and are established in the top half of the Prem for some years and miles ahead of 'big' clubs with far greater resources is a fantastic achievement. His job is not to be universally popular and who knows what he could have achieved with the recources wasted by the likes of Houllier and MacLaren? Allardyce has done a damned good job in every management post that he has held so imo you are being more than a taj unfair there Paul.....BUT in your defence Bolton ARE undoubtedly the milleniums answer to Wimbledon (sorry Everton....I know thats Moyes's ambition but Sams simply better at it!) Gotta say that I was dissapointed that some enterprising BBurn End cheerleader did not have the wit to strike up a quick rendition of '1 Alan Green......there's only 1 Alan Green..........' Would have been great for Radio 5 listeners.

excellent points. You've saved 15 mins of my Sunday scotty. Just to add that I cannot fault Hughes tenure at BRFC except his substitution tactics. Often too late and frequently wrong. I once saw us huffing and puffing to beat a spirited 10 man Newcastle until Tugay came on, passed em to death, used the width and we ran out easy 4-1 (I think) winners. Bellamy should have been on sooner instead of Kuqi to.

Good points Neil, but I am rather hoping that this current clearing out of dead wood is loosening the pursetrings somewhat. Experience since Souey was appointed tells me that it does seem David Browns style. psssst..............anybody got a horses head handy? -

thenodrog replied to Wild Irish Rover's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
C'mon Welshrover.......Jansen and his agents decision is nothing to do with where he would be 'better' it's where he will earn most in the short term. I guess his agent has finally being pulled off Jansens nipple by Rovers summer offer and is simply cashing in on his clients former glories whilst he still can. Hence the dishonesty and dishonourable treatment of BRFC. -

I think that I'd have been justified in saying it if even one of his shots had been within 10 feet of the target! And especially so when teammates were in good positions. btw Points 1 and 2 should be obligatory reading for him and the rest of the squad. -
1. Nakata despite being on a yellow committed 2 dangerous fouls within a short period straight after and asked for all he got. Heaven helps them that helps themselves eh? 2. Sam and his boys came to town to intimidate as usual. They really are the new Wimbledon imo. Maybe we should refer to them as the Bolton Dons from now on. Nakata was obviously following his managers orders to all the players to wind Robbie Savage up. It's been in all the press and he's still at it after the game. They hold a long grudge at the Reebok dont they? 3. The numpties in the Riverside need long and serious bans. They were there simply to cause a fight and for no other reason. I hope the guy that decked the bald one doesn't get done as it was the best punch that I've seen since Tyson was a lad. In my experience of suchlike the bald git did damned well to get up.

Sigh this is getting wearisome. 1 & 2 we all agree on. 3 and 4 is daft. But it's Matts fault not the taxi drivers. If he had adhered to the terms of his insurance he should have piggin well been in one! Simple as. Financially he's cost us big time, and there is no argument about that. -

Apart from free kicks Reids shooting has been poor. He got lucky at wigan and now I am regretting it. We would have been better winning 2-0 and not having to suffer these awful repeat attempts on goal. two words of advice for him......... 1. Just like hitting a golf ball, dont try to hit em as hard and they will travel faster with more accuracy. Reid is trying to repeat a 'wigan' at every attempt. 2. Practice at Brockhall (every afternoon after training if you want it bad enough Reidy) and not at Ewood. Strange thing about our team spirit. After his 3rd attempt he would have been cricified by his team mates at Chelsea and MU (not to mention the manangers) whereas our lot simply shrug their shoulders and get back into position, (Bellamy excepted of course). -

thenodrog replied to Wild Irish Rover's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Oh ffs! Are you daft? Yes indeed BRFC could have saved all that anguish easily! WE could've stopped paying him! The fact that we honoured his contract (whilst he did not) when we prob had no need to is now obviously the only reason that he stayed at all. btw mods..... what tf are we running here nowadays....... a creche? -
