  1. Interesting thread now! If only for identifying the more clear thinking and businesslike members from the naive romantics. I suggest that if posters included age and occupation it would provide even more revealing. Jim...... never mind that, why didn't we simply loan him?
  2. Think before you speak too! Where have you read that Sam has guaranteed him a place? Let the scales fall from your eyes........Matt is not bothered about playing Matt is bothered about money. All this has happened since we changed his comfortable deal this summer. My only point is that it has been underhand and if Jansen plays as much as you suggest then we quite rightly should have a perfect right to have included an appearence money clause in the deal. Do you disagree with that Cocker? Cos if you do you must admit that his actions have bollaxed any such deal.
  3. Well I cannot believe the stick that you just gave to Dickov! Last years top scorer, this years top scorer too! What more do you want ffs? AS you say we cannot afford the best players in the world so to diss the guy who provides the lions share of our goals is pathetic. Especially whe he only cost £150,000 too! Do you ever pause to consider what you have written before posting Trooper? btw I dont dislike Kuqi either. I see a place for Kuqi in our squad to! He is no way good enough to be 1st choice striker in a Prem team other than Sunderland maybe but he is one hell of a sub.
  4. from that article........“He is a professional and he does the same job that we do, so why do that? Patrick Vieira stops players as well, just not in the same way as Savage." No true Vierra (great player that he is) collects red cards at about the same rate as Sav collects yellows.
  5. I think that describes more accurately Bellamy's needless booking on Wed rather than Savs.
  6. Thank you for that enlightened and intelligent comment Philip, it's made an excellent contribution to this thread. Still it's prob better that expected from you.
  7. Well I bloody do Rev! It's all sneaky and underhand. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you! We have honourably (stupidly imo) stood by this guy for 4 years yet he doesn't have the decency to take things through the proper channels. If he had been open and above board then I would imagine that the Rovers would have put small fee / appearence fee on him given that Notlob are a prem club and a local rival to boot. Who knows if that had happened maybe somebody else would have bid slightly higher. I'm not talking about a lot of money as far as football moves go but I am talking about a lot of money to all on here who have to survive in tghe real world (Chesh excepted of course ) It's obvious that by doing it this way that at least half that estimated money has gone into his already stuffed bank account with a lump to his agent and the rest staying in Gartsides back sack. Sorry but Jansen has made us a laughing stock in football business again. All this just 12 months after the conclusion of the last scam when Viola, Rangers Ferguson and their dodgy mate took us to the cleaners. They were making mugs of City too until City found out that it was a done deal and publically withdrew any hand of freindship asap before they stood to be tainted with the scam. What a tawt to not even do the decent thing by ringing Stuart Pearce to say he was not coming eh? But I take the point that these days most people would try it on in this way, (is it greed or is it need? as the old saying goes). They do also say that fools and their money are soon parted don't they? Dahlin, Grabbi, Ferguson, et al and now bloody Jansen. Does anybody think Williams would have been as profligate with his own money? I wonder what Newell's interpretation of this would be? If you lot cant see the devious and underhanded planning behind this scam then I am truly gobsmacked. Maybe if he was an ugly git without the floppy fringe and puppydog eyes etc there would be much less sympathy around.
  8. try to be more cerebral and less emotional scotty.
  9. You cannot deny that he's cost us big money which could have been used elsewhere. He's rewarding our best intentions by cheating and conning his exit and in the process making sure that he gets paid what he really should owe us. Next thing scotty you'll be daft and soft enough to start demanding a testimonial for him. Why else did he not simply come clean and say please can I leave and sign for Bolton? Why did Bolton not put an offer in in the proper time honoured fashion? The injury scams surrounding the departures of Le saux and Sutton left a bad smell but this one stinks!
  10. imo the first goal was down to Stiles letting Rooney's foul on Nelsen go. Nelsen would have cleared that ball easily otherwise.
  11. May as well use an abbreviation and dispense with the 'shire blue' bit in future then eh mjs?
  12. Wed's starting midfield is too lightweight for OT. Rooney alone will destroy Tugay's entire game.
  13. Eh? Bitter? OK get this then.......... Check the date guys and dont say that I didn't warn you! Anybody can see that we've been shafted! MJ has got big wages / bung because he got himself out of his contract for sweet FA! Obvious to a blind man on a galloping horse imo. To much mellow red wine and too many glorious sunsets over the Med are making you go soft Philp.
  14. Well he wouldn't have if Hughes had instructed Kuqi to 'do a Rooney' by dropping deep to harrass the midfield.........or if MH had sent Dickov on sooner with those instructions.
  15. It's a good tactic when all else fails. In fact every top team that I can recall could dish it out when necessary. In fact I once saw W germany do it to Mexico in the WC finals in 98. They were 1-0 down, middle of the second half and going absolutely nowhere when they suddenly started kicking seven bells out of Mexico for about 5-10 mins. They picked up 3/4 bookings but Mexico capitulated like a set of poofs and were well beaten 2-1 at full time.
  16. The connivin chiseller will certainly get one off me!
  17. What are you on about? Who said anything about him playing?
  18. What a put up job! This has obviously been planned by Sam and his back room boys for months! All that syrupy sentimentality spewed forth by the ex player and supporters alike and all the time this was being planned. Even Pearce was used as a 'patsy' in the scam. I bet he's well pisssed. I said when this was first broached that we should only let him go free to lower league teams. I've also said before that we should have stopped paying his bloody wages years ago, and this has proved my judgement right. There is an old adage that 'the first loss is the least loss'........ lets just hope that the management treat this as a lesson learned. Paid his wages and treatment for nigh on 4 years and he takes part in a transparent, scheming back handed scam to deny us the chance to claw back a fraction of what he's cost us in wasted transfer fees and wages! No wonder supporters from all over the Prem are leaving in droves is it? As they say in showbiz.......Break a leg Matty!
  19. Agree with the Reid statement but the pressing of our midfield was mainly because Rooney kept dropping deep creating a 5 man midfield for them and denying Tugay any time and space. I told my mate after the first 10 mins that Wed would not be a 'Tugay' game.
  20. Even a dedicated 'Sven Out' campaigner like myself cannot see any reason to blame him. Just imagine though in a parrallel universe if he had picked Matt it could have been Martin Keogh nutting that Roman taxi instead ..... ..... and nobody would have ever noticed!
  21. Correct. Except that Nelsens passing was awful all the time. This shows the value of a 'pressing game' tactic, defenders hoofing the ball away rather than picking out players with nice passes is the result of a team defending from the front, and is something that Hughes has got our lot to do.
  22. Hindsight? You should know that a tonne of hindsights not worth an ounce of foresight in football Fife. But even with the benefit of both you must acknowledge that 1. the first goal was down to Kuqi winning the ball in the air and flicking onto MGP. Kuqi is like Frank Bruno imo....OK in the first part of the game but his bulk means that he soon tires..... and then he is worse than useless. 2. Andy Todd was awarded MoM! Dont let predjudice impede judgement.
  23. I'm sure that you dont need me to explain the difference between Bellamy saying for example 'Oh for fcku's sake that was not a frkein foul Ref he collided with his own frekin man' and him saying 'Oh for fcku's sake that was not a frkein foul Ref, he fell over his own frekin man .........you cheating blind (ooops auto sensors napped me but it rhymes with Mike Hunt)' Or do you Aggy? Cos thats the difference.
  24. Indeed. Ideally Dickov's place in the squad would be as a replacement for a suspended / unfit Bellamy whilst Kuqi should be the same for A. N. Other. Maybe if we can off load one or two of our dead legs this Jan and free up some funds we can bring some one in. It would ceretainly make one hell of a bigger difference than messing about finding replacments for Tugay or Brad as some (right) members on here seem to prefer.
