Reduced prices for Swansea game.
arbitro replied to SIMON GARNERS 194's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
I have it on good authority that as of yesterday 1200 had been sold. I also heard that only one turnstile is being used with a heavy police presence there to prevent trouble. There will be segregation inside but I don't know where we will be. Car parking might be a problem and I was advised to park away from the ground. -
So Bassini met Harvey tonight to provide proof of funding and Harvey has given him another 48 hours. He's running rings around them and they can't see it. And they are in court again on May 8th for unpaid taxes which has been adjourned umpteen times.

I agree that this convention of kicking the ball out to allow treatment has got ridiculous but on this occasion I have some sympathy with Villa. Not long before the incident Villa put the ball out for a Leeds player so I think the sporting thing to do was reciprocate. Also it looked like a Leeds player slowed down with the ball giving the impression he was going to kick the ball out. He then sped up and Leeds scored from his pass. Bielsa for me comes out with great credit.

That's exactly why I have stressed it's down to opinion. Clearly the referee thought Williams could have made up the ground to cover Lenihan. From my vantage point I didn't think he would.
-
The referee has to factor all the information available to him at the time before making his decision but he has to be sure that the covering defender would have got around to make the challenge. He clearly did think Williams would. I didn't. As I said it's down to opinion.
-
In many, many years of being involved in football I've never seen anything like that. Jansson was defying his manager by trying to stop Villa scoring. And Bamford should be banned for three games for his embarrassing play acting.
-
'Last man' is a red herring. The referee has to decide if Williams could have made up enough ground to make the challenge or did Lenihan deny Pukki a clear goalscoring opportunity. That then comes down interpretation and the man in the middle read it like you did. I didn't think Williams would get there factoring in Pukki's pace and direct run at goal but it's all about opinion. And VAR wouldn't really be much use here as nobody could say with certainty that the referee was right or wrong, in other words not a clear and obvious error.
-
In real time and not having seen it again I thought red. I couldn't see Williams getting back to challenge from the angle he was coming around from and Pukki had a straight run at goal. More worrying though was what the hell was Lenihan thinking of. He turned his body 180 degrees to face his own goal and Pukki read it. His control was that poor that it gave Pukki a chance. Why didn't he just play the way he was facing or head it. Lenihan has been decent lately but something his decision making is poor.

Reduced prices for Swansea game.

I think the point is that Rovers haven't reduced the prices for the Swansea game for loyal season ticket holders. They are happy to take our money and in many respects abuse the loyalty and commitment shown. And to market it as a reward for our loyal supporters is insulting for season ticket holders. -
Another slow start, couldn't keep the ball and two down early on. Travis scored with our only shot on target. In reality we could have lost by five as Norwich were quicker and more incisive all over the pitch. I believe we are currently light years away from emulating the likes of Norwich. In my opinion they were considerably better than us in nine positions and probably have consistently been over the course of the season. Williams was again our best player and Dack by far our worst. He is in danger of becoming an enigma and I really wouldn't have too many issues selling him although his stock has dropped considerably in the second half of the season. This summer is huge, make or break in many respects but in my view unless there is successful major surgery we will be in a dogfight. From afar last night Mowbray appeared subdued. We weren't aware he was on the bench until close to the end of the first half and even in after the break Venus appeared to be doing most of the coaching. Maybe he has air miles on his mind as he thinks about his Indian and scouting trips.

It was about then yes.

I can only recall the one when they just didn't turn up but they actually announced it on the day before. It was like a Sunday League team. I'm sure they were docked three points too which ultimately really cost them. They got to the FA Cup final that year and I remember their fans chanting 'three points' as Graham Kelly was introduced to the team. Bryan Robson was their manager at the time.

Rovers didn't get a 3-0 win. The match was played at Ewood and finished 0-0 which ironically relegated Middlesbrough.

If Bolton's record was expunged and did have an effect on promotion and relegation it would throw a spanner in the works of professional football. I'm sure that there would be appeals, more appeals and court cases which could take weeks if not months. In normal circumstances the PL and EFL have to know the constitution of each league after the playoffs so planning can begin for next season. I don't think they would have any rules or regulations to cover how to make the number of each league to agreed levels. Would they promote an extra team from each level below the Championship, would they run League One a club down on the normal number? The impact could be huge on lots of clubs.

And the paragon of virtue that is Sir Dave Richards isn't so squeaky clean. John Williams was mentioned as a potential partner to Bassini. Why on earth he would get involved with people like this beggars belief. https://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/latest-news/exclusive-premier-league-boss-s-son-won-series-of-football-deals-1-3308364

He looks and sounds pissed. If he was desperate to sort the players wages and ensure the game goes ahead what is he doing in a Sky studio speaking to White? It's going to end in tears.

https://www.canaries.co.uk/News/2019/april/ticket-news-blackburn-rovers/ Norwich are charging £2 less across the board than we have had to pay. Something is amiss here.
-
I might be getting him mixed up with somebody else but I have a vague recollection of refereeing him playing for York City in the Football League.
-
I think he will be assisted by Tony Grant who was one of Bowyer's first team coaches.
-
And Stockport have a gimme in their last match at already relegated Nuneaton while Chorley host Bradford Park Avenue. Chorley will probably be in the playoffs for the third year in succession.
-
I thought his running style with and without the ball was like Phil Foden's. I thought he was looking to get on the ball and get things happening. Seems to be a confident kid.
-
That was just about as comfortable as winning a football match is. Bolton just didn't want to know and if we had played with more intensity could have had five. Good to see Brereton score and he could have had a hat trick with a little more care. Travis and Rodwell ran the game and Rothwell continued to excite the crowd albeit running a little blind at times. Really good to see two hungry young players come on as Buckley and Butterworth looked to get on the ball, played quickly and looked for give and go's.
-
Villa 1-0 up against Millwall and looking for a tenth straight win, incredible form. If Millwall lose and Rotherham beat Big Club they will be level on points with two to play.
-
At any normal club that would be the case. Mowbray was due to go out in November last year but didn't go and no reason was given. Significantly we didn't spend much. I'm probably stating the obvious to a lot of supporters but whilst they are here we will never be a normal club.
-
Mowbray having to go to India to meet them implies (to me anyway) that he doesn't know what his budget will be. His comments are worrying.
