  1. He looked exactly the same last pre season as well. If by some chance he's still here After the transfer window shuts he'll have to get his head down.
  2. 1) See 2) 2) Gone by Christmas 3) Buckley 4) If Mowbray is here all season bottom 3. If 1 and 2 we should be able to stop the rot and repeat last year's 15th. 5) WBA.
  3. They can object to Rovers selling the land for housing development without which the land per se is of relatively low value.
  4. What annoys me about that is that I can't figure out whether or not the Fans Forum views a sale as a positive thing. Constantly asking if there's any "updates" sort of implies they're hoping a sale will go ahead.
  5. Christ, here we go again, I didn't think they would have the brass neck to try again quite so soon. This is the one thing they shouldn't be allowed to get away with, players come and go and can be replaced. Once infrastructure is gone it's gone and the current incumbents at Ewood won't be here much longer anyhow due to their age if nothing else. If a progressive manager who was taking us places and a forward thinking CEO had a different vision for the Training facilities that might be a bit different. But this lot will just bugger off into the sunset leaving us with nothing. For me this was why it was so imperative they were all replaced at the end of last season before they had chance to revisit this scheme.
  6. Tell me lies tell me lies tell me sweet Waggott lies......
  7. Sounds like he means in terms of the type of personnel coming in.
  8. In the last "normal" season the figure was 8,500 though wasn't it?
  9. Yep, the usual "we had an offer in for him but were pipped at the post by someone offering more" sob story no doubt. How long's Park been here now? 2 weeks? Nice "work" if you can get it.
  10. Absolutely spot on. I'd still do that now and the one thing you could say is that we'd get more for Armstrong now than we would have done at the start of the window.
  11. Think it was said in the LT we were only contributing £2k p.w. to Trybull. Still 2k too much for me. The rest were presumably all more expensive.
  12. I was guesstimating a total of £20k p.w. for five players I.e. wage contribution of £4k per week on average. Might be on the low side. Whilst Elliott and THB were good we could easily end up with 5 like Douglas, Trybull or Branthwaite as well.
  13. Last Christmas he gave us some heart But the very next day (or month) he gave it away This year to save us from tears We should give it to someone better. (Can't stand Wham either) 🤣
  14. Would we be that much worse off? We wouldn't be forking out on 5 loan fees of say £500k and wouldn't be paying a contribution of say £20k p.w. towards said players wages. So £3.5m saved there. Plus if any of our own players come along well, we'd have options to balance the books in due course whereas if they're kept out of the team we'll never know and their value will never increase.
  15. I'm coming round to the view more and more that if the options are a) Sell Armstrong and bring in a few loans from Premier League Clubs or b) Keep Armstrong and have to use and develop our own youngsters I'd rather do the latter.
  16. My "targeted" ad the other day at the top of the page the other day was trying to sell me a Bentley. I wish! On chaddy, I was wondering where he'd gone, then remembered he mentioned he was away for the Leeds game. Must have been barred from coming on here whilst on holiday, Lol. Be killing the poor lad.
  17. Confident prediction by J*B. One in one out by the end of the week from someone within the Club. Looking like neither will happen unless we get a wiggle on.
  18. Yep, spot on there, it was obvious really by the end of the last two seasons that Mowbray couldn't go on piling players on top of more players without offloading anyone. A competent CEO would have picked this up ages ago and when he didn't the owners should have been engaged enough to intervene.
  19. Wouldn't have thought many League 1 fullbacks have gone for much higher sums than Pickering since though although I'm only guessing there so happy to be proved otherwise.
  20. Beautifully and concisely put. Bravo! I also ridiculed the "slow build" idea as soon as it became a thing describing it as a method by which Mowbray could excuse poor performance and keep himself in a job as long as possible. Then everyone would wake up a few years later realising we were in the same or a worse position than when we started.
  21. Disgraceful comment. Even more so when he concedes he doesn't even know whether he'll be able to reinvest any of the proceeds! Roughly translates as: "I'm going to cling onto this last 12 month's salary for all it's worth."
  22. 1st para: That's what Mowbray should be told in no uncertain terms imo. 2nd para: I'd read it more that the Coventrio were clearing the decks at the Academy to try and make the case that a facility the same size isn't needed and to have another crack at selling it. If that's the case they mustn't be allowed to get away with it.
  23. Possibly. Dack only cost £1m though and was a lot more experienced than Pickering so maybe a better comparison.
