  1. Yep. Need a new manager. Until that happens talk of player recruitment is almost irrelevant.
  2. Yes. And that's if you accept that anything at all will ever be built on the existing Academy site if both planning applications go through and the other plot is sold for housing.
  3. Language Timothy! (One for the teenagers there)
  4. Waggott is probably the wrong person to e-mail in thiat respect. We could do with a genuine contact address for the owners.
  5. You couldn't make it up. He is of course trying to deflect any suggestion that he may have got it wrong in his handling of Chapman. However if you believe what he says at face value then that puts his achievement in attaining promotion from League with by far the biggest budget firmly in perspective! You really do wonder how him and Waggott have got so far in life. Thick as mince in some respects but extremely cunning and adept at convincing people they are the good guys and doing a decent job etc etc.
  6. To be fair, I wouldn't expect anyone, even Mowbray, to just walk from a job these days, there's way too much money at stake. He needs to be sacked by the owners and imo he has needed sacking for over two years. I have always given the owners the benefit of the doubt in terms of being well intentioned. The problem imo is that they place far too much trust in people who worm their way into their confidence and thereafter it's a case of "While the cat's away........" If I am right that they are well intentioned though, they have to act fairly imminently. Not even Waggott can put a positive spin on this one for his mate you wouldn't have thought.
  7. Feb 2019 for me. Otherwise couldn't agree more.
  8. On a serious result today's result shows why Mowbray must have no input whatsoever into the future direction of the Academy and/or training facilities. The players are playing like they know he's a dead man walking - and if he isn't, he bloody well ought to be!
  9. I know tempers are a bit frayed today because of the shitshows we are witnessing on (and off) the pitch but you seem to have a bit of a chip on your shoulder about that QEGS thread SG.
  10. Disagree completely. He's one of the worst managers we've ever had given the level of backing he's received. Imo. We missed out not getting the Cowleys in though for me.
  11. Anyone actually watching this? 61% possession, no shots according to the BBC as of a couple of minutes ago. Sounds pretty standard for us.
  12. Just to inform everyone that in response to suggestions on here an option to add your name in support of the letter has now been added. Our IT guru tells us the letter has been viewed c9k times so far and is gaining traction nicely, but we're a bit thin on numbers for signatures at the moment as the option to sign wasn't there when most people read it. If you like the letter but haven't signed, could I ask you to revisit it and add your name. http://www.protectjackwalkerslegacy.com Many Thanks Simon
  13. Got me for 10 seconds as well first thing this morning until I realised the date! If Carlsberg did threads..........
  14. Sort of the same, and it will be for me until the manager goes. We couldn't beat Coventry at home, can we see off the mighty Wycombe away?
  15. Apologies. Having read the article again he wasn't asked the question directly but was attempting to head it off at the pass before it was asked. "They seem to have a little more space than us on both sides" LOL. Yeah 55 acres as opposed to a proposed 19 acres! It would be quite comical were it not so serious.
  16. I suspect he knows exactly how big Finch Farm is. He had to be vague on the issue because he was asked a direct question on the size comparison between their site and our proposed new one.
  17. No problem, thanks for the feedback. I was surprised you'd seen it so quickly tbh. Good work!
  18. Oh, hi Chris, I would never have known it was you if you hadn't have said. Simon Leigh in case you hadn't noticed from the Brockhall thread!
  19. Thanks for everyone's comments. The key is to share the hell out of it so that as many people as possible are made aware of the issues then they can make their own mind up. Our technical guru informs us that there are options to add signatures in due course depending on the amount of traffic to the sites so we can do this if people require I think.
  20. We could easily have delayed slightly to get a few more signatures on, but felt that it was more important to try and get the issues out into the public domain ASAP. As regards any other fans Groups, with the greatest of respect their response thus far has been either non existent or neutral. I am unable for example to decipher what the Trust's official stance is on the issue either way. If any official groups want to comment on the letter either way they are more than welcome. We haven't tried Lancs Live yet no but I have no doubt we will. The letter has only been live online for a few hours.
  21. They're probably worried that if they fell out with Rovers they'd be left with nothing to print except stories about Granny baking a cake etc. I used to know someone who worked at the Telegraph years ago who said if they were struggling to fill column inches they'd stick in a story about a chip pan fire. In the long run though Messrs Waggott Mowbray and Venus aren't the Club and won't be there forever. The Blackburn Public would think of the paper far more favourably if they investigated these sort of things properly and impartially. It shouldn't be down to random fans to have to do their job for them.
  22. Would just like to add that we intended running this in the Lancashire Telegraph first as a paid for ad with a QR code linking to the letter but to date they don't seem inclined to run it. What a worthless rag it is. It was precisely because they weren't investigating this fully and impartially, or asking any of the right questions, that we felt the need to do this in the first place.
  23. You beat me to it. I sent this letter by e-mail to Lynsey Talbot at the Club today to be forwarded on to Mr. Waggott and hand delivered a hard copy to the ground where it was picked up by Security. The place looks desolate. Shuttered up more securely than Fort Knox.
  24. I left (6th form) in 1982 as well and remember Dave Skidmore quite well, same year I think. The other names ring a bell too.
