  1. If any of them sign new deals maybe.
  2. So according to you we pay the wages out of our own income and then have a separate £20m loss? Where do you think that £20m p.a. disappears to if not on players wages?
  3. I thought someone posted a table on here without Venky's input which tended to suggest that once their £20 m p.a. contribution was taken into account we were actually about 4th in terms of overall finance. Happy to be proved wrong if that's incorrect.
  4. Funny how when Brereton wasn't doing so well he was apparently a player foisted on an unwilling manager by the owners............ And we netted around £10m for Armstrong so if the others walk for nothing £50m is a bit optimistic to say the least! Gallagher good business? Reel 'em in Gav!
  5. Have to say that whilst I may disagree with the views of those who come on and make out that everything is OK after a win they are perfectly entitled to have that point of view. I think in general the mods are far too quick to to complain about or remove posts they don't like in recent times.
  6. It's unbelievable. I think some people assume players play for nothing. How much do people think Mulgrew and Evans were on? How much do people think Gallagher and Ayala are on?
  7. By the end of the season roughly £100 m of the owners money on top of whatever income the Club has generated off it's own batt!
  8. Given the backing he's had, I think it would have been impossible for virtually anyone else not to!
  9. I'm afraid that's where we differ. Given the backing he's had I think he's done an appalling job overall.
  10. Like I say I don't think either will happen unless we're in imminent danger of going down. Would that be my personal choice? No but there you are. By the end of the season Mowbray will most likely have burnt his way through roughly £100 m of Venky's money to not even finish in the play offs once. If people think that's an acceptable return, and seemingly some on here think it is, I despair.
  11. As Mandy Rice Davies famously said "He would say that wouldn't he?"
  12. Why, who else pre Mowbray and Waggott has walked for nothing? The only one I can think of was King and he was a bit of an odd case as he was absolute garbage until a few months before his contract was up.
  13. Absolutely. Despite my hatred of Mowbray, I hope we get in the play offs, he takes us up, and proves me completely wrong. Do I think it will happen? Not a chance.
  14. Absolute rubbish. Do you think Venky's fell out with Mulgrew and decided to pay him the thick end of £2m over 2 years to play for Fleetwood? Or decided to pay £5m for Sam Gallagher? Do you think Venky's chose to offer contract extensions to the likes of Evans Bennett and Graham? And temporary contract extensions to the likes of Smallwood and Hart. And a "we feel sorry for you" deal for Ben Gladwin? Do you think Venky's made a conscious decision to let the contracts of the likes of Nyambe, Rothwell, Lenihan, Kaminsky and Brereton run down potentially allowing them to walk away for nothing? Or do you think they trusted Mowbray and Waggott to manage the overall budget over the last few seasons properly and prioritise our better players accordingly? Do you believe the reason that no-one appears to be willing to re-sign is purely financial or at least partly to do with the fact that we currently have a lame duck management team that would never ever take us anywhere if allowed to remain in situ?
  15. Well if you only go to the game for the day out and don't mind whether we win, lose or draw all power to your elbow. I'd like to think most supporters are far more selective than that. Maybe not.
  16. Don't think he'll go this season unless we're in imminent danger of going down. SHOULD he be sacked tomorrow? Hell yeah.
  17. Back in John Williams' day there were c80k people on the Club's database. Obviously not all of them will attend at any given time and some will have passed on but I believe the number is a lot higher again now.
  18. Because there's no hope of progression until Waggott, Mowbray, Venus leave. This is just another wasted season assuming they are all allowed to see their contracts out and at the end of it we look likely to lose our best players if the status quo is maintained until then.
  19. Yet as things stand it's likely to happen.
  20. Critchley doing extremely well at Blackpool on a relative shoestring. A few on here have been touting him as a suitable replacement for Mowbray for a while.
  21. Ideally we need to keep all of the soon to be out of contract players and bin off the Coventrio Lowe and Benson. That's the only hope we have of seeing any success.
  22. By far the best article Crooke has produced and even amongst a number of good points, by far his most pertinent one is why any of the soon to be out of contract players would wish to commit to a Club that merely looks to be trying to get to through this season.
  23. Thought you were claiming that people were alleging the flight would have cost in the region of half a mill. Apologies if that wasn't the case. The cost isn't really the issue here for me, it's yet another example of Mowbray wasting the owners' money like water. If BB had started the game and won us the three points then I would have said an outlay of £85k could have been justified. However he was brought back to essentially sit on the bench so whatever money the flight cost was completely wasted Even if the per capita cost of the flight was "only" 10-15k. In just the same way we've spewed countless sums away over the last few years on new contracts for players who simply weren't up to it, for our previously highest paid player to play for someone else in League 1, on temporary contract extensions for players who had never figured in the first place, on a contract extension for a lad whilst he recuperated from injury who was never going to play for us again and on a new deal for a player who was clearly on the decline due to age and predictably barely featured. And the cry is always the same "It doesn't matter, they won't be on much". Is it any wonder that after years of such gross mismanagement we can't afford to offer our better players acceptable deals?
  24. What's the point you're trying to make other than being your usual contrary self? Never seen anyone allege it cost any more than a total of £85 k to fly BB back, and you yourself have noted it costs "from" 60 k Euros to fly over the Atlantic so the figures would roughly tally up. As to whether it was worth whatever we paid then I'd say it would have been worth it had he started and made a significant contribution to us winning the game. I think only Mowbray though could agree to or request that BBD be flown back specially at a cost of up to £85k then leave him sat on the bench for 87 mins!
