  1. Here here. You can see Foden being the next Glen Hoddle under Southgate. One of the best players we've ever produced but frequently left out of the team on principle for some weird and unknown reason known only to the manager.
  2. Even if that sale led to the loss of Cat 1 status due to lack of space?
  3. Good idea den. Anyone fancy that? Hopefully there will be one or two other initiatives up and running by the end of next week as well!
  4. Rhetorical question Chaddy. Not aimed at yourself. What does "one" have to do not to pass this initial vetting stage. I.e. the Club.
  5. What do you have to do to fail the initial environmental assessment? Propose to dump ten tons of highly radioactive sewage into the local water supply every day? At least 450 local residents appear to be on a war footing. Go on lads and lasses! "Uncle Jack's corduroy army!"
  6. "Garlic bread, it's the future!" "I've tasted it!"
  7. I'll start! "Under one roof" (Which will probably result in loss of Cat 1 status) ermmmm....................
  8. I noticed that when the article was first published - one man's 'jam" is another man's bribe. Says it all when an attempt has to be made to pay off the villagers to accept it and the application can't be left to stand or fall purely on its merits. So basically almost everyone could receive some benefit from this tawdry scheme, developers, planners, PR agencies, local residents and anyone else in between. Everyone that is apart from the Club who would lose a substantial part of their infrastructure which we then can't fall back on in future if really needed when we no longer have multi billionaire owners. And for the present, said owners seemingly face having to shell out yet again to fund (at the very best) facilities similar to what we have now, only far less of them and which could end up putting paid to Cat 1 status for good. Sounds like much of our transfer business over the last ten years, everyone gets a piece of action along the way and the Club end up getting shafted.
  9. Thanks for sharing. "Proven track record of..........bringing defensive rigour to teams" Where did it all go wrong? Do I take it then that the reason why you wrote to Senior in the first place was out of concern to ask why on earth we had appointed Mowbray?
  10. I'd certainly have made the effort to attend Court if my licence was at risk and if I was on his money would have employed a high powered brief to try and avoid disqualification. Still, I suppose he can comfortably afford a chauffeur and his recovery from the latest injury is more pressing. You'd also have to say you'd have thought the authorities would have better things to do than ban people from driving at 68 in a 60 mph zone on a motorway regardless of his previous driving record. All the best to him in his recovery. When it rains it pours I guess.
  11. Finished one point and three points above us the last two seasons though with way less financial latitude so if he's a dud, what does that make our guy?
  12. Disagree. Think Rhodes was way way more consistent than Garner. Garner was probably better on a going day but catch him in on away day when he didn't really fancy it and he might as well not haallve been there. Think Garner was better than Armstrong but the similarity between all of them is that they are or were the best players we have or had at the time. The problem wasn't or isn't with any of them, it's that most of the rest of the team wasn't or isn't up to their standard in their respective positions!
  13. I agree, personally I'd take him over Mowbray tomorrow to get the latter out of the door but I wouldn't be completely ecstatic about the appointment. Still, even if he was another Don Mackay, who got us to several play offs and failed that would still be a massive leap forwards from where we are now.
  14. Thanks. When is the next stage in the planning process does anyone know?
  15. Not unless you particularly want to.🙂 Can you share the gist of what he said? If the reply was intended to be in confidence, no problem.
  16. Should this thread not be pinned whilst the proposals are still live?
  17. Not sure but whilst the owners were a ittle slow in sacking Bowyer it's nothing like the current situation with Waggott and Mowbray for me. If Mowbray was being judged purely on performance and results he'd have gone in Feb 19 imo.
  18. What did he say? That he was cheap?
  19. It was alleged by that Crook dude from Lancs Live in twitter correspondence I think. Something along the lines of "owners understood to be unhappy by recent results but not known if they're ready to make a change yet etc" I.e. doing a Nixon and hedging his bets so he can't be wrong either way no matter what happens.
  20. Very honest reply. Thanks.
  21. Completely agree - and it's happening again now as far as I can see, but is that not almost the definition of "naivety"?
  22. Christ. 22 points from 23 games. One win in 12 is it? Wouldn't like to see us when things were going badly!
