  1. Always said that Mowbray was a good 'un!
  2. Will be ignored or loaned out as soon as the serious action starts and we have bought another four or five loanees in then.
  3. Slightly harsh, has signs of ability, just umpteen years past his sell by date. Think he's well behind Evans and Bennett in the crapness stakes. No way whatsoever he should have been offered a new deal though.
  4. Ah, our old mate Dan - Mowbray's chief apologist, no surprise there. I don't really understand why stick aimed specifically at Mowbray should affect the confidence of the team, surely they are able to differentiate between stick aimed at them personally and that aimed at the manager?
  5. An ally in the dressing room for Tone now Bennett and Downing have gone possibly. Won't be much use in that respect if he's always out injured though.
  6. Not saying his absence today is a sign he's off per se, but even if there were a move in the offing he'd have to get fit for the new season somewhere wouldn't he?
  7. Not an excuse for not at least being able to get a set out for the team's use imo. Covid and Brexit haven't suddenly sprung up out of nowhere since the kit deal was signed. If you can't deliver, don't sign the deal. What next, no kits on general sale until Christmas "because of Covid"?
  8. You've got to love Chaddy and his sense of unfailing optimism! 🙂👍
  9. The 2 X1's today don't exactly bode well for the season do they? Although funnily enough even if that's what we were left with I could get behind those players a lot easier than the likes of Bennett/Evans/Ayala/Downing and another batch of loanees from other Clubs.
  10. If that actually is the view from his house he doesn't need to close the curtains, he can't see it for the trees! Not much happening on the pitch then?
  11. Perhaps it's a Macron thing then. Not good enough either way and doesn't bode well for the relationship.
  12. Thought someone would fire back with that. The situation with the owners and and the Coventrio is somewhat different. Until such time as someone with massive pockets is prepared to take on the huge financial burden that is currently Blackburn Rovers, or we get promoted, we don't have much alternative. Mowbray, Waggott and Venus could be gone in an instant if the owners decided that was what they wanted. Anyhow hope you enjoy your day in Fleetwood and that the 90 mins watching the team in the Bolton/Preston kit doesn't detract from that too much!
  13. You could just about put up with the new kits not being ready to be put on general sale by the opening game but for there not to be at least a set available for the first team is an absolute joke. Wonder if there's any other Club in the football League in that embarrassing position.
  14. No offence, but why does he get a clean slate and a free pass from you this season? It's not like last season (and Brockhall) never happened is it?
  15. True in general but imo you're talking rubbish about Ayala's injury woes being unforeseeable, If he's that good why didn't Warnock want to keep him? Plus speak to any fans of the Club's he's been at previously and he seems to have a reputation for going AWOL around Christmas every season.
  16. I used to think that "a tipping point" was imminent at the end of every wasted season. Now, from anecdotal tales I've heard about Venky's wealth I believe they COULD prop us up like this indefinitely IF they wanted. However just because they could do this, doesn't mean they will, or won't tire of it all of a sudden one day. For me the ideal scenario would be to combine their financial clout with the leadership of a top class manager and some proper footballing and business acumen and local knowledge off the pitch. The offers of help and support are out there, I hope the owners take the olive branch and combine forces before the situation on and off the pitch deteriorates still further.
  17. Would rather see Lenihan and Wharton together anyway if Wharton returns from injury as good as he was last season.
  18. He will be if no-one puts a realistic offer in!
  19. Calm down dear. Either way it's not in our overall interests to sell imo with such a penal sell on clause.
  20. No guarantee whatsoever we'd finish as "high" as 15th without him though. Far more likely we'd be in a relegation battle.
  21. Has Mowbray been spotted yet then this pre-season? Is he up in Scotland with the squad?
  22. Not my money but absolutely. If we accepted a bid of £10m what would that be clear to us? 60% of any profit over £1.75m according to the LT so 60% of £8.25m I.e. £6.3m. Not worth it. The only way I would contemplate a sale is if we were getting at least £10m clear which would require a bid of c £20m AND we had targeted someone within our budget to replace him on a PERMANENT basis. The notion that AA should be replaced by someone coming in on loan for a year is absolutely ludicrous and is something else Waggott and Mowbray shouldn't be allowed to get away with if they're here that long. (like Brockhall)
