  1. Can only reiterate my comments after the Bristol City game. If he can't motivate the players for a limited period during a series of must win games at the end of a relegation dog fight, how on earth is he going to be able to lead any sort of assault on League one over a full season? Got a decent reaction when he came in as you would have hoped. Once that wore off extremely disappointing, six points from seven games. Even worse than the bare results is the approach. If we were playing particularly well and being a bit unlucky thats one thing but I don't understand why we're parking the bus and trying to nick a point here and there when we needed wins.
  2. The players have had the wrong mentality for years. I always used to complain they never turned up at Ewood until half time and trailing or level at best under Bowyer.
  3. Will Tomlinson be the next youngster to depart Ewood without pulling on a senior shirt in anger because he hasn't been given a chance? It beggars belief for me he can't get a game whilst apparently the useless Lowe seems undroppable.
  4. If I did that, Wolves would beat us by one knackering up both us and the bet. I'll steer well clear of that one!
  5. We have 15 points from twelve games under Mowbray which at first glance looks very respectable. Unfortunately however ten of those fifteen points came from his first 6 games and the last 6 games have only yielded 5 points which isn't that dissimilar to Coyle who only managed 9 points from his last 12 games in charge. I don't see there being much for us in the last 3 games if I'm being honest but if there is we need to get back to whatever we were doing in Mowbrays first 6 games.
  6. I could see that all ending in tears long term but he's the sort of manager who can probably get a bit of a reaction over 3 games. Plus, they do still have a bit in the Bank. Us v Forest now I think.
  7. Reminiscent of Chris Brown here. No goals v one red card. God knows what possesses people to sign players like that.
  8. How quickly things change. With 13 minutes to go today we were dead and buried. Now although we could still go down its very much all to play for. With everyone apart from Brum displaying a certain amount of spirit I can see there being a number of twists and turns before we're done. I could quite easily see a side on the last day thinking they're safe with 20 mins to go, a couole of quick goals later and bang they're gone. Hope we end up on the right side of it.
  9. 1st useful thing he's ever done for us!
  10. Glad to hear it Parson. I've thought for a long time that Tomlinson must surely be an improvement on Lowe and frankly I can't see how Raya could be any worse than Steele.
  11. Hope everyone going thoroughly enjoys it and regardless of ability witnesses a team giving their all for the shirt.
  12. It does seem odd that he's made such incredibly perceptive comments and basically hit the nail squarely on the head when presumably he can hardly have seen us play. I presume he knew he was getting the job before the Man Ure game. You wonder if his comments are based solely on what he saw during that 90 minutes or on the basis of some input from Lowe and Dunn because based solely on that game I'd be sat there rubbing my hands thinking everything was hunky dory.
  13. Each to their own but I think its known I tegard that view as absolutely and utter nonsense. If you want to believe that to justify your non attendance or something like that fair enough but it's exactly the same Club it's been since 1875. We've just got poor owners. One day they'll l be gone and if we're still in existence we'll still be exactly the same Club then as well.
  14. I do think thats incredibly harsh Stuart you say you're sick of giving people chances but unlike Coyle there are no obvious issues with his appointment per se.. Surely also the alternative to viving him a chance was sticking with Coyle until the end of the season. As Im convinced Coyle would have taken us down Id far rather give Mowbray a chance in comparison. You also ask what the players must be thinking. I'd imagine they're thinking "Thank God we've got rid of Coyle and his antiquated training methods, poor preparation and lack of tactical nous". If Mowbray gets them on the training ground and it is quickly apparent he has some idea how to set up a team to defend and to win a match, the players' ears will quickly prick up and they'll start to take notice regardless of whether he is a massive name or not Finally isn't it premature to be slagging him off for not having the right character or for not doing the things you want to see like dropping Lowe? He may very well have some of those characteristics or do many of the things you want!
  15. No -one else seems to have mentioned this but might it not be a long term positive that Dunny is here learning the ropes under Mowbray? Right. Off to buy a new packet of straws.
  16. Was thinking that he would have been particularly pleased with Coyle's departure. Don't know if he's any use or not but it appears Coyle wouldn't have considered him either way out of pettiness.
  17. Thought according to you it doesn't matter who the manager is Gav. If that's the case why then does it not matter who the manager is but it does matter who his agent is? Lol.
  18. He probably wouldn't have come for any less? At least on only an 18 month deal he is probably committed to the job for the full term of the contract and is not here for a quick pay day with one eye on the exit door before he even gets here like Lambert.
  19. This. Disappointed at this stage but the new team might be able to come up with one or two tweaks and ideas that will keep us up this season. Memo to Tony: Might be an idea to bring a load of planks, some nails and a hammer and board our goal up.
  20. Note tonight that Dean Rittenberg has been released by mutual consent. Haven't followed his career closely but he seems to have been been at the Club an awfully long time to never get a chance and be dumped. Do we need to be a lot more proactive in giving the youngsters a chance, and if they're not good enough having had that chance, cutting them adrift?
  21. Bristol City 2-1 down v Sheffield Wednesday. Could be 9 straight defeats for them.
  22. It's not as though being done over by agents is exclusive to the last 6 years though. It's as if we never signed the likes of Dahlin, Ward, Dailly, Peacock, Grabbi Amoruso Ferguson etc.
  23. It might have been better if John "Dracula" Butcher had never seen the light of day but that's a different story. Lol.
