  1. Sounds like he and Windy just want to sort out their severance packages?
  2. I don't think that's the reason, as far as I know the Riverside in it's current form isn't strong enough to support all the personnel and equipment. To rectify the problem would cost a certain amount and in the past it's not been deemed a sufficiently high priority. I'd be all for it personally.
  3. If you want to go that badly there's nothing really stopping you is there? People who don't go, criticising other people that don't go, get on my nerves.
  4. This has to be like those sketches on the Fast Show where the woman is talking and none of the blokes are listening to her.....................................
  5. Steady on BBDU we've just seen 90 minutes of scintillating football that's all! What do you want people queueing outside Ewood at 9a.m. this morning for the Everton game on December the 3rd? We've seen several seasons of unentertaining home performances under Souness and to a lesser degree, Hughes. We've also had to put up with with several seasons of Williams and Souness going on about survival being the priority, and Souness intimating that Cup competitions are unimportant. The message has been put right since Hughes took over and results have definitely improved since the Newcastle game but from an entertainment point of view I would suggest that of the games at home this season only the Spurs and Charlton games were particularly good performances. If we carry on in the same vein gates should improve, if not there's a problem, but even if that proves to be the case we just have to get on with it and thank our lucky stars that gate receipts currently form such a proportionately small percentage of our revenue. I'm not sure that for the club to openly criticise the blackburn Public is the right way to go . In fact it could be tantamount to commercial suicide.
  6. Money. I think I read the FA were on a nice little earner for staging the game there as opposed to here. As for the game itself, utterly pointless, needlessly disrupting the season yet again as it threatens to get into full swing.
  7. All week it's been "Fergie out" tonight the radio phone ins have been full of ManUre fans who suddenly think they're the dogs wotsits again. Although Mourinho seems to have been afflicted by a bit of RFW like sour grapes recently give me him Terry, Lampard and Duff over RFW, Ferdinand, Keane, Van Horseface and their insufferable support anyday. Although out of the three I'd sooner see Arsenal win it. And out of the four Wigan
  8. Very good performance from Friedel today, he did what he is paid to do and made three important saves. Two were the sort you would expect him to make, the third with his legs at 3-1 was'nt that category and was vital as anything might have happened had the score got to 3-2. Much much better from Brad. Hopefully he can keep that up. Possibly he himself hasn't been happy with his contribution in recent weeks.
  9. Looks like someone's had a few too many tonight.
  10. Anyone still worried about this game after today?
  11. Superb performance, best under Hughes by a long way and I'm struggling to remember a better one before that. Disappointing crowd but by and large we've played some rubbish this season but still got the results. If the performances were anywhere near that standard every week I'm sure we'd see a marked increase in attendances.
  12. Whilst still one of the better jobs in football the ManU job is nowhere near as attractive as it was 5 years ago. The Glazer family and their soon to dwindle travelling support from London no doubt still expect to win the title every year. Then look at Saturday's team sheet Van Der Saar O'Shea Silvestre Ferdinand Bardsley Fletcher Scholes Park Rooney Smith (in midfield) Van Nistlerooy They've got huge problems. As the departing Roy Keane has apparently so eloquently pointed out on MUTV.
  13. Like him or loathe him Sullivan is usually not too far wide of the mark with his comments. His criticism of Dwight Yorke was bang on the money. And whilst the link above doesn't work for me, if they're the same comments as in this morning's papers, it's about how Heskey, Forssell and Pandiani cost them 12 million, are costing 90k p.w. in wages, and have contributed 3 goals betyween them. Probably exactly what the average bluenose is thinking. Although Bruce probably wishes Sullivan was less outspoken. What a shame.
  14. I was thinking that midweek. We had a visit to Chelsea coming up and it flashed up on the radio he 'd scored the opening goal away at a particularly exotic location. Livingstone I think it was
  15. Fair comment but the crucial difference there is that the managers of Man Ure Arsenal and latterly Chelski are unlikely to ever want to leave voluntarily.
  16. That's a bit worrying. When he joined it seemed right to err on the side of caution lest we end up in a Souness type situation whereby he was virtually unsackable due to being on such a lucrative contract. Now the deal doesn't seem to offer us muich protection. Should be a priority of our new streamlined executive board to offer him an improved deal.
  17. Souness is rapidly starting to lead an extremely charmed life. Headhunted shortly before likely dismissal at Ewood it seems the fact that the Newcastle Board were prepared to lash out 17m on Owen (who'd score goals anywhere) will save him again just in the nick of time. With a squad like that his next task will be to prove his many doubters wrong and deliver some success.
  18. You're right , I do apologise for my earlier post. You've always been like that. (Only joking) Off topic I really do wish you all the best on BRISA. I do think though that there's a slight conflict of interest in membership of the Fans Forum and committee membership of BRISA ( not being so presumptuous as to assume I'd be elected of course) Having been on the forum first I feel a bit of loyalty towards that so I will decline your kind invitation at this stage. I will no doubt enrol as a member to give you a bit of financial support though.
  19. Heck, I was replying to your original post calling me the "anti Brad poster!". I don't expect him to ever get back to the level he was at three years ago but I do expect him to be solid and unspectacular. I don't want him to be gifting the opposition a goal every away game because that undoes the good work of the rest of the team. I'd readily agree that on anything approaching normal form he is one of the top keepers in the League but i don't think it's unreasonable to call into question his recent performances.
  20. Which position is that?
  21. Likewise me with you. You've disappeared so far up your own backside recently you only seem to consider your own point of view as worthy of discussion. I'd hate to think this inflated sense of your self importance coincides with your election to the BRISA committee. Either way I hope you'll be a little more receptive to other points of view in that capacity.
  22. A lot of people used to say the same about Cole. I suspect and hope that their apparent dissatisfaction is actually down to being such a perfectionist rather than being unhappy at the club. Both hate losing and both expect the same high standards from their team mates that they expect from themselves. Hughes and Sir Bobby Robson have said the same in interviews recently. Bellamy has visibly berated colleagues when a pass hasn't been played exactly where he wants it in the last two games. On the other hand he's scored two and created three so hopefully he'll be reasonably happy with life. Personally I wish we had another nine moaning minnies like Cole and Bellamy.
  23. What this thread shows is that many posters consider Friedel to be beyond criticism. Unlike possibly EIT and USA I don't believe Friedel's decline in form is permanent but I do feel he is performing poorly at the moment. He's no different to any other player, if he's not currently producing the goods the manager should consider resting him. Interestingly, not one person seems to consider Enckleman worthy of a chance. Why are we paying him if that is the case?
  24. We all know Brad 's not the keeper he was two or three seasons ago but even so the decline in his performances this season has been alarming. In the last three away games he has gifted the opposition the softest of goals almost costing us two points at ManUre, costing us 2 points at Anfield and potentially costing us 2 points yesterday. A good keeper is supposed to save you ten points a season not give them away. At home he's had relatively little to do but has not inspired confidence, seemingly being racked by indecision as to whether to come off his line. Is this an irreversible decline due to his age or is it a temporary blip in form? Could an element of complacency have crept in having secured a new long term deal? Whichever way, whilst I'm not a huge fan I think it's time to give our other international keeper a run out for a couple of games in an attempt to give Brad a much needed kick up the behind. Otherwise what's the point of paying relatively top dollar to have him on the books?
