  1. Sanderson played all last season in a team that went down. Nothing we can do about it now, if he gets time on the pitch he'll have the full support of those in attendance as always.
  2. They might have been well intentioned but done even worse. Lot of big Clubs in League 1. I can't believe anyone would put the title win behind what happened subsequently. That's something we have over 85 other Clubs currently and that probably won't have changed much by the time we go to our graves.
  3. Leave things how they were 100%. The Walkers didn't want us and you can't second guess how alternative owners would have done.
  4. I'm amazed some people seem happy about Sanderson and maybe Forshaw coming in, If we're not signing people at least as good as or better than what we've already got for the sake of a couple of warm bodies in the building I'd rather have used youngsters in the event of cover being needed and save the money to go towards the priority positions. To think some people weren't happy with the prospect of Schlupp. Bottom of the barrel well and truly scraped with the cover signings - can't wait for the stellar striker and winger signings that will be hot on their heels. Lol.
  5. Cue a load more BS about them "having to pay twice" when sending money over etc etc when it gets adjourned again.
  6. Ah yes. You're the chap. Usual script "Everything going to plan, nothing to worry about, judge it at the end of the window". Blah blah. Do you not think it's telling that we've found a cheap Baker replacement inside a day or so whereas the priority positions we've known about for months remain unfilled? And will probably remain so, at least with any quality. Could do with unleaded now to tell us what's really going on.
  7. No point trying to argue with someone who thinks £18m for Adam Wharton was good business and a player already on the books (Travis) and Cantwell are adequate replacement for a player of his calibre. Very weird bunch on the LT site. There was actually someone else arguing on there this morning that we were a "development" Club and they didn't want us spending any money in the transfer window in case it put the Club at risk. No real fan would say that. Either not a Rovers supporter or a Club plant.
  8. Don't know anything about Forshaw but given a side anchored to the bottom of the table are willing to let him go, this doesn't exactly scream the "quality" that the Club and Eustace were banging on about in advance of the transfer window.
  9. I don't think people were very enthusiastic at the time. You could see him deteriorating almost before your eyes towards the latter end of his first spell. Should never have been given a second deal.
  10. I have a customer who is a massive Liverpool fan and who knows Fowler really well and he speaks very highly of him. Really nice and genuine guy who would do anything for you apparently. However he was obviously going through the motions in the knockings of his career when he was here. My customer recounted a tale of how he'd been on a night out at the time with Fowler in Liverpool on a Sunday night. About 2a.m. the following morning they're stood there with 2 beers and Robbie says "I'd better leave that, I've got training later on."
  11. Shame, that'll be his one major scoop of the window.
  12. Transfer window, what transfer window?
  13. Moves expected at Goodison this afternoon for talks over a deal for "at least 2 years" according to Sky. He might keep them up, anyone should keep them up really, but I can only see it ending in tears after that. They usually say never go back and it's a very unambitious appointment for me. Maybe Dyche had gone stale there but otherwise I can't see that much difference between him and Moyes.
  14. Do you have the same view on Kent then? (FWIW I'd take Shelvey but wouldn't touch Kent for the reasons you mention)
  15. I don't think the side is set up specifically to protect Batth. Eustace is a pragmatic manager and would probably set up the same way no matter who the CB's were.
  16. The poster first mentioned it in passing a few months ago but no-one picked up on it at the time.
  17. We need to win this one badly to get some momentum going imo. Plus in the past when we've rested players we haven't looked the better for it on their return, the team have usually looked like they've never seen each other before and we rarely play well or get the win the following game.
  18. Kitching maybe isn't a great example (an uninspiring potential signing we hadnt heard about rather than a great one) but I agree on your general point.
  19. Well if the names linked so far are "too good" for us it might be Eustace tipping us off that that the Club aren't matching his ambition. We don't know what tone the comment was said in either. I suppose he could have said it in a sarcastic manner. We won't know until the end of the window I guess, but early signs are very unencouraging both in terms of actual activity and names linked. The only hope is that the Club have been keeping their cards close to their chest and they surprise us with some great signings that haven't been mentioned anywhere so far.
  20. Has Eustace said that? Very disappointing if so. He shouldn't be saying that even if we we were being tentatively linked with some genuine superstars on loan etc. I'd go the other way, I'm not excited by anyone we've been linked to yet.
  21. Don't bother reading the thread then if it offends you! To be fair if you'd been patient and taken the "wait and see" approach every other January under this regime they'd virtually all still qualify as a disaster. The only decent signing I can recall in January off the top of my head was Armstrong - and to be fair he was a stonker. There's a lot of points to play for in January. A good or bad month could make all the difference. Same every month I guess although at least in January you have the opportunity to try and do something about it.
  22. I rather think he'd have better offers. At the top level though think his lustre might just be wearing off a bit. Bit like Mourinho.
  23. Hopefully they'll go for Gregg Broughton.
