  1. That’s pathetic. When Clitheroe played brigg town in the fa vase which is a cup for teams not even in the football pyramid the attendance was 8-9,000. Today was to get in the football league and by the sounds of it there was less on today.
  2. Pakistan got about 40 closer than thought they would. The Rose bowl is a joke. 701 runs in Hampshire’s last home game. 734 today.
  3. I’ve watched both those clubs vs Clitheroe in the unibond. Standard 100-200 fans for the division. Even picking up few bandwagon fans and Wembley day trippers that attendance could have been embarrassingly low.
  4. Also in a 70,000 seater stadium the respective allocations are 16,613. So just the 35,000 men in grey suits with no particular allegiance to either side.
  5. Quite something from Buttler. Can he play tomorrow as well. Today has answered the question of what sort of pitch Lancashire can expect tomorrow at the rose bowl. Considering Hampshire rarely score under 300 at home I don’t think anyone will be falling of their chair in surprise that it’s very much a batsman’s wicket. Hopefully the boundaries (particularly the short one) will stay out for Parkinson as at Edgbaston, Lords and anywhere there’s a short boundary he’s completely ineffective.
  6. Birmighum YES Villa yes wolves yes wba/Walsall no opinion on them
  7. Last year the Austrian training camp was the last week in June so if it’s the same again and with the season starting on August the 3rd that leaves room for one more weekend fixture (July 20th) and midweek fixtures. So either way looks like it will be slim pickins for pre-season.
  8. Wrong crest and wrong name for this competition. ?‍♂️. T20 really is infecting everything.
  9. That was tough watching in the end. Panikshire will always turn up at some point but thankfully we rode out the storm after some pretty ordinary bowling in the middle overs. Nice to see England’s most successful bowler throwing himself around for lancs. Takes some commitment at 36. Poor lbw decision, Scott think it was, but having given a shocking wide ball before, reckon that swung his thinking a bit. Some Lancashire type cricket by their number 10 who hit a ball that would have been wide by a mile and got run out off it. But all’s well that ends well. Will be interesting to see what the pitch is like today for England vs Pakistan as no doubt will be the same one on Sunday. So if it’s an absolute road Onions might go for plenty in which case might have to rethink with Gleeson or somebody. Anyway roll on Sunday....
  10. Some dreary, albeit local, fixtures there. Hope there will be a couple of interesting additions along the way. I do enjoy an odd ball pre season away day so as played barrow 2 seasons ago and the others in league one not really feeling these. Thought Barrow would be a rare ground to tick off the list. Nope back again. Even a Salford or Chorley would be a bit different whilst keeping the non league local theme going.
  11. No result at Headingley means Lancs progress to the quarters on games won. First time for nearly 10 years got to the knockouts.
  12. Couldn’t pay me to watch a ODI cricket match involving India or Pakistan. Just a constant drone of hooters that bare no resemblance to the game.
  13. I work with a bloke who supports Chorley he was saying in his opinion the club doesn’t want to get promoted as they don’t want to go professional. Plus the players will be out of pocket as they wing earn much more plus would have to give up their 9-5 jobs Not sure how accurate that is but makes you think considering they’ve lost the last 3 play off finals and fairly meekly surrendered a solid lead this season.
  14. Remembering all this is really opening old wounds. And why the Venkys can never be forgiven.
  15. You’re right actually. Thinking back for all I can’t ever say kean had support there wasn’t enough people who cared enough to protest. To think what might have been if several thousand got involved but wasn’t to be. Instead we’re were derided by Kean as the 1%.
  16. Yeah think you’re right. I’ve always wanted to go to ibrox couldn’t remember the game but it was a game wanted to go to but couldn’t go so assumed was rovers pre season. This summer I've got a wedding on the 20th of July so for anyone thinking of going get that weekend booked. If it’s on its bound to be then.
  17. I don’t buy this the poor old venkys were duped, learned their lessons routine. Yes there were some charlatans (Anderson/kean/shaw/Agnew/shebby/etc) taking advantage. But through it all the one group of people who unequivocally want what’s best for the club, namely us the fans, were ignored. Had they listened once from kean in 2011 to Owen coyle in 2017 2 relegations could have been prevented. They didn’t and they weren’t For me to even consider not hating them they need to 1 admit their mistakes and 2 apologise for their mistakes publicly. Will they-No. Do they feel they need to-probably not. The reality is who are we the peasants to our regal owners. The cruelest of ironies is its through their incompetence that we need their chicken money to stay afloat. The venkys can keep paying the bills but their continued absence from Ewood is a very welcome one.
  18. With 20,000 empty seats I’d just say anyone under 18 gets in free. Try and lock down future support. Gate receipts are almost irrelevant to running a club 10,000 season tickets at £300 is 3 million it’s a drop in the bucket. Might just about pay the wages of one player for all our contributions through the turnstile over the season. The revenue come from tv, sponsors and sadly presumably the bank of India. Hell let everyone in free for a season we probably deserve it.
  19. Didn’t we play at ibrox in a pre season one year? We defo played them in Australia but sure played north of the boarder as well.
  20. Qualification for the RLC knockout stages is in Lancashire’s hands after notts vs Durham was abandoned. Just need to beat Warwickshire tomorrow otherwise relying on results elsewhere
  21. Unfortunately it’s the law of unintended consequences. The powers that be devise a fun shorter format to generate more interest in the sport. But it’s success could (will) end up destroying proper cricket. The t20 blast already has pride of place in peak summer months. On top of that each counties top players abandon the start of the English domestic season in favour of the IPL. Impossible to get the genie back in the bottle now. For what it’s worth I’ll happy watch Lancs in the t20 up and down the country remembering always it is the equivalent of gobbling down a Big Mac and chips while the fine dining of CC/test cricket gets continually undermined by the ECB in favour of the cheap and nasty.
  22. Not a bad knock but he’s just the latest to sell his soul to subcontinent McCricket. He’s by and large been warming the bench while Lancashire’s season is in full swing.
  23. Of all the people involved in football the only person I can think of who stood up to the corruption and criminality was Mike Newell. Look what happened to him a pariah. Never to be seen of again.
  24. I’ve no doubt we are Noblot just a few years behind them. When our regal owners get bored with their baby we will be left with £150 million oak debt and no way to pay it. So at that point it’s administration and the creditors will try to sell us as a going concern. If there’s no buyers wound up cease to exist. Its a genuine concern of mine. Trapped between the devil and the deep blue sea.
