  1. Tony talks about league one as if we were there for decades. The dizzy heights of this championship league. We’re not worthy we’re not worthy.
  2. With Tony there’s every chance.
  3. Unbelievable. Few lads a work we’re telling me this. (Weren’t even Preston fans). When he gets sacked there is at least a job in theatre playing Henry V before agincourt. We might get beat, they might be better, but we’ll turn up. We are at Preston not Barcelona ffs. Every time see an interview with him now I think of that green mile scene. Dead man walking. Dead man walking. We’ve got a dead man. Dead man coming through.
  4. Genuinely I think being the manager of rovers is one of the best gigs going. You have a fan base that won’t really turn on you (odd grumble walking away from the ground). Owners that don’t know enough or care enough to drive high standards. But if they like you and/or your wife they’ll back you in the transfer market. You can decide for yourself what constitutes success. You have the ability to hire and/or promote your superiors. But you will have to fly to India once a year to sell them a dream you’re incapable of delivering and possible might have to bamboozle them with reasons you failed to deliver precious self set targets.
  5. Could it be a shot on target. Only took 88 mins?
  6. Preston, sheff wed, Leeds then the international break. I pray there’s a new manager in before Barnsley.
  7. They’ve lost 4/5. Anyone surprised making us look like a pub team
  8. Haha. I’ve never thought of the Venkys owning us as like a gym membership to them but I think it’s probably quite accurate. Start off with good intentions, know the money is coming out but it’s too insignificant to cancel. They might even get the odd bank statement and wonder what a Brereton is and why they’ve spent £7 million on it. I genuinely believe the only reason they haven’t pulled the plug on us is they’re too lazy to be bothered and the money they pump in isn’t significant enough to lose any sleep over.
  9. You’ll also hear it’s a tight division there’s at least 10 teams who could challenge for the top 6. We’ll be right up there if we put together back to back wins, well 3 wins, well 4 wins, well 5 wins... Then if we’re lucky enough to succumb to mid table mediocrity you’ll hear this was a transitional season cementing our championship status again. All the while qpr have transformed fortunes and past us over a summer. Preston are competing with no budget.
  10. Has Mike Philips really just said that was one of Wales' best ever wins?? They were shite against 14 men
  11. Wales can count themselves lucky. If it wasn't for that card they wouldn't have edged in front. You couldn't get a more French performance than this. Some brilliance, some terrible decisions, some basic errors. Wales have been nowhere near as good today. But if it was against england, they'd be out of the traps like greyhounds. Really galls me.
  12. I think there’s an international break after Leeds and before Barnsley. Could be the time to pull the trigger. Particularly if only pick up a couple of points in next 4 games.
  13. This is the most chilling continuing legacy of the Venkys. Just like bowyer when we can see a guys done all he can there is the terror of what they’ll do. For a Chris Hughton Id definitely roll the dice. But could easily be some bloke they met at a party the weekend before who claims to be the next big thing in Indian football.
  14. Ps. Anyone else notice the big rovers flag behind the posts! I’d rather be there than at ewood that’s for sure.
  15. All too easy in the end for England. 9 wins from last 10 vs Australia. They're lacking leaders. They've only got Hooper and pocock really who can provide leadership. Sinkler had a barnstorming half in the face of childish attempts to wind him up. I often criticise referees vs England but fair dos to that Frenchman. The TMO guy: “I’m happy with both passes. That is not clearly forward play on.“ “Non. For me a clear forward pass”. In other words pipe down dick head it was clearly forward. Not that would have impacted on the result. Only caught a bit of New Zealand vs Ireland before the debacle at ewood but they look a class above. Will take a Herculean effort to compete with them.
  16. Not every win is in spite of the manager and not every defeat is because of the manager but today was down to Tony. 4-5-1 at home to Huddersfield Bennett playing at all Bennett at left back (lead directly to the first) Taking our best player off for the donkey 9 mins later taking Downing off for Evans the only player able to utilise said donkey. Then there’s bigger picture errors like Walton who was quite pathetic.
  17. Agreed. But we have the Venkys. It’s the rock vs hard place that is Blackburn Rovers when managers start to fail.
  18. All our goals are self inflicted. Still can’t get over Walton. Pathetic keeping.
  19. We’ve got a plethora of problems that I’ve lost faith in Tony being able to fix. But one less important but easy fix is bloody goal music.
  20. Haven’t come from behind to draw I don’t think so won’t hold my breath.
  21. Never a pen but why give the ref a decision to make
  22. Why did dick wad grab his leg. Lost this game.
