Birmingham - Away, Sat 2nd Jan

I can't believe Trav is fully fit. Has he even had an under 23 appearance? If he breaks down and is out for a few more months, Mowbray can get his coat and fuck right off. -

What the hell is that back 4? Worst i can remember in a long time. Ayala is looking like an abysmal piece of business right now. -

Bumped into a mate the other day who said he loved Rovers at the mo because we are always good value for a both teams to score or over 2.5 goals bet. I was less impressed mind you. -

Haven't seen any updates on the fitness of Nyambe or Ayala but if we start the game with a back 4 of Buckley--Lenihan--Johnson--Bell Its going to be a long afternoon. -

2020 has probably been the worst year for me both personally and professionally. I was all set for a promotion to a role I had been working towards for 2 years and then actually doing unofficially for about 10 months before the most senior bloke in the office advertised the role externally, interviewed a guy, offered him the job (which he accepted) cancelled my interview and just left me where I was. Of course, I'm still doing the same work, still unofficially, of course. And also I lost my dad earlier in the year, as well as 2 aunts. Covid has obviously impacted on daily life too and its basically been a massive drain. So, very much looking forward to waving goodbye to 2020. 2021 has to be better, right? Anyway, Happy New year to you all! -

Mowbrays Successor
davulsukur replied to Darwen Rover 007's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
When teams are playing badly, results aren't coming etc. You often see a team that looks divided, rifts between players. Won't be any different with us. I'd wager some players still by into Mowbrays style/tactics and some don't anymore. Probably the reason why some of the players were jogging around like they were playing in a testimonial last night. -

Nope but sums our owners up pretty well. Dreadful -
Mowbrays Successor

At a guess, I'd reckon Cheston was tasked with getting a new manager in and had Warnock lined up before HSH got into either Venkys or Sulhails ear and sold them the Coyle dream, probably by also coming in at a much cheaper cost but pointing to his previous promotion. Venkys then made one of the worst decisions of their time in charge and employed Coyle over Warnock. -
Mowbrays Successor

I appreciate that Mowbray has had greater resources (which he's wasted) than Cook and it obviously it needs to be taken into account. He might be an improvement on Mowbray but I don't think it would be enough to get us where we need to be. -
Mowbrays Successor

I see Cooks name being mentioned a lot. Not sure really. He got Wigan promoted from league one, when Mowbray took us up and then only had Wigan 18th the following season, even Mowbray managed to get us to 11th. Last season they were pretty dreadful until they hit that amazing run of form, even then they only managed 15 wins, which was 2 less than Mowbray with us. Even adding the 12 points back on they would have only made it to 59. I doubt he'd be much more of an improvement, if at all. -
Normally, when we hit what appears to be rock bottom under Mowbray, he pulls out an unexpected result and we end up going on an undefeated run. I don't think it will happen this time. I think things wil just continue to go south. I still don't think Venkys will sack him, we'll just have to hope he manages to get enough points to see us avoid a relegation battle and then it will be a "fresh start" in the summer. God I hate our owners.
-
I don't disagree. I was merely trying to point out that no matter how much people want Mowbray out, suggesting the likes of Ian Holloway is a terrible idea.
-
Mowbray needs to go but let's not get too carried away with just how much. Ian Holloway, for example, has been a busted flush for a good 8/9 years and we shouldn't be going anywhere near him as we will just be calling for his head in 6 months time. Mowbray needs to be replaced but it needs to be with a progressive appointment (on paper at least). Bilic or Pearson, absolutely. Good point on the coaching staff, they all need replacing too.
-
Don't do it to yourself. He's here for a while yet. 2 more years on his contract? He'll see that out, I have no doubts.
-
When I first read that tweet, I thought it was Sharpe questioning the soft underbelly. No, no, its the fucking manager! Unbelievable. It's literally your job to sort the soft underbelly, not question it.
-
Its unbelievably optimistic if anyone still believes we can make the playoffs. Likewise, sadly, its unbelievably optimistic to believe Mowbray will be sacked in the morning. He won't be going anywhere, probably not in the summer either.
-
He's also managed to find a way of nullifying our best player in Dack with this new set up.
-
Is that their centre half??

Didn't last anyway

Huddersfield. Hang your heads in shame.

Ayala off with injury. Good move to sub Nyambe off now. Clown.
