I agree, he wasn’t good enough overall. He didn’t impose himself enough which was a shame.

Very poor would be 31apps and 0 goals. He did manage 7 goals and 3 assists from the wing. Not amazing but stats wise not very poor.

He contributed, the goals and assists show that but he wasn’t a particularly good player and playing at a higher level this season he would have struggled.

One of those two, the one from the sunshine, is a Venky drumbanger and always has been he was running around other clubs and media outlets on twitter last season trying to make out they were the best owners in the football league I kid you not.

    He's a loon.

If he's managed to put together a reasonable argument for that, then its almost commendable.

  3. I can't see it taking too much to push us over the edge with regards to FFP.

Perhaps the amount the owners were willing to back him with would breach FFP rules, so Mowbray would be putting himself in a win or bust situation.

Probably enough to break the rules but not enough to assemble a squad that could realistically get near promotion.

I don't really know, just speculating but i'm not sure why he would turn money down and put pressure on himself by having a weaker squad that fights relegation.

If true, he's probably looking at some middle ground, enough to buy young players, who can develop at the club (Davenport, Rothwell) and keep us in the league (without a relegation battle) but not enough where it's win or bust and loading the club with high earners.

Honestly if we don't see Maddison at 2.5 million, paid over two years, as a good deal then I really do worry.

Every signing is a risk but if you look at his stats from last season and the position he plays it's an absolute no Brainer in my eyes which is why it's so frustrating to see us apparently Turn down the oppuntinuty.

I also really can't understand why we are after players like Nmecha. Sometimes those loans pay off but normally they don't, and we don't have the quality or the numbers to afford to have players who need time to adapt or are at risk of not being able to contribute much.

    Because they are cheaper.

Didn't Byrne come here with an equally big reputation ? I seem to recall " The next Roy Keane " being mentioned.  Where they got that from I don't know, he's nothing like him in playing style even allowing for the gulf in class.

Just like "The Scottish Wayne Rooney"

    "The next Batistuta"

    "A Young Steve Gerrard"

    Etc.

Victor Anichebe. On a free from China, poor record in front of goal and some what probe to injury, I'd probably take him for a year give us a bit of presence

    Good lord no.

Injury prone and will want huge wages.

Like Glenn Johnson, the total opposite of what we need to be bringing to the club.

So Villa's impending crisis and disaster looks set to be avoided by the arrival of one of Africa's richest men and an American multi-millionaire.

I called it that nothing seriously bad would happen to Villa.

So far no financial disaster, no FFP sanctions, no embargo and apart from the likely sale of Grealish no major departures.

How do Villa get a mega rich owner and then when staring into the potential jaws of oblivion they get backing from not 1 but 2 billionaires?

And we get Venkys, f***ing Venkys!

    F**k football!
