v Huddersfield (a) 10/4/23 @ 12.30pm

Colin has got Huddersfield buzzing. My goodness what a good manager he still is even well into his 70s. Twice in the past decade we had the chance to hire him and we flunked it both times - poor decisions that made no sense and with his record possibly cost us promotion. Although Rovers have a history of pulling out unexpected victories it is difficult to see anything other than another defeat -

Glad to be away at the weekend and enjoying some Irish hospitality than having to endure today. To judge from the comments on here, and if we continue in this slump and looking at the remaining games we might not get another point this season. -

Fucking useless and so predictable. Sitting here in a beautiful restaurant in Dublin. Thanks for spoiling my day -
Bonkers post 1 Leicester and West Ham might not be PL clubs very soon 2 Both of them would be stark staring mad to appoint him anyway given his rubbish track record as a manager 3 West Ham fans despise him because he deserted them for Chelsea as a young player
-
Bournemouth, Southampton and West Ham would be the perfect trio to go down and replaced by 3 northern clubs. I think Leicester have had it though. They looked like a relegation side against us
-
I hope Reading go down - I've been 4 times and we've lost every time. Plus, Paul Ince is the manager, and we all remember his glorious reign at Ewood Disagree about parking at Reading though. There's some business units just a 5 minute walk from the ground which have free parking on match days - alot of Reading fans go there. And Reading is always a place where you can just turn up and pay. But I won't miss going there

It's not looking good for Adam Wharton He may be talented but if his attitude is all wrong and he doesn't apply himself then he won't have a career and ultimately Rovers will let him go. Maybe he doesn't like Tomasson and they don't get on. Scott Wharton's form has gone right off as well so maybe both brothers have problems with the manager. Who knows? Either way, his parents should be telling him to knuckle down and work hard; otherwise we could have another David Bradford on our hands, another talent who never filled his potential

I found myself sitting next to Edun's family at the Coventry away match and had a chat with his dad (nice chap). He said Edun's favourite position is left midfield and that's where he's played most of his career including for the England age groups. Sadly, it doesn't look like he has a future at Rovers. -
Potter to Leicester; would be a good for both. He was a poor appointment by Chelsea though
-
Leicester job up for grabs and there's a strong chance the West Ham and Chelsea jobs and maybe others will also be on offer at the end of the season too. I can't think who Leicester will get to keep them up in the short term but looking ahead it could be Potter to Leicester (middling club perfect for him); Rodgers to West Ham (he's a "name" and his teams play decent football which will keep the Cockneys happy; and Chelsea to spin the wheel and look abroad again
-
Garrett might develop into a decent player but he isn't going to get us over the promotion line at this stage of his career but someone like O'Brien who's been there and done it might have. That's the difference between staying down and going up.

Gallagher hasn't got the predator / striker's instinct to be in the right place at the right time. Aguero, Fowler, Gerd Muller had it at the top end of the game; the likes of Billy Sharpe lower down. Simon Garner was much the same. Some are born with it and it comes naturally and others get better at it by working at their game. Gallagher has none of the former and doesn't appear to do the latter -
Third / fourth division southern clubs. Hit the switch button .

Leicester looked relegation candidates when we played them in the FA Cup. Rodgers hadn't done his homework on us and how we play which indicates he's lazy or had already given up. No doubt he'll get another PL job eventually but his reputation is damaged because Leicester have some very decent players and if he had anything about him they wouldn't be struggling near the bottom Three southern teams, Southampton, Bournemouth and West Ham or Crystal Palace would be my picks to go down

They're only 4 points behind (??) and there's still plenty of points to play for. Norwich don't have to win it One thing we have to say though - losing it would be a big blow for us and swing momentum and confidence Norwich's way. A draw might suit both teams. -

Like our many defeats we were often over-run in midfield yesterday and shows a signing like O'Brien was badly needed. The failure to sign such a player and of course the lack of options up front could yet cost us a playoff place. Similar to last year, the lack of transfer business in January could be our undoing Norwich is important because we must not lose it. A win would be great but losing to the team to below us would be a big blow from which we might not recover. -

Great news I'm hearing on the grapevine that Rovers owners Venkys are close to a deal to sell the club. Talks have been ongoing for several months and an agreement was finalised this week with an announcement scheduled for Monday morning. The deal includes all the debt and the chicken farming conglomerate will cut all ties with the club after more than 12 tumultuous years. The possible bad news The buyers for Rovers are Butterball, one of America’s most iconic brands and best known for its turkeys and turkey products, which it sells around the world. Butterball is headquartered in the Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina area. Butterball, led by CEO Kerry Doughty who has connections in the area Lancashire going back to the 1850s, are said to keen to follow other US corporate investors into the English football market and see Rovers as the ideal club to further their ambitions. So there it is. That's all I know and while many Rovers fans will be greatly relieved to see the departure of the Indian owners there will be some trepidation at the prospect of another unknown foreign buyer taking over. I would say however that the information comes from a reliable sauce

Ayala will probably be put out to grass in the summer. Fine player but I don’t think we need him in the squad now. Shame about Brereton - he’s been coming back into form recently and I’d prefer him over Dolan. I’m feeling optimistic about tomorrow - usually a bad sign -

You are joking? The lad hit a brilliant strike into the top corner. In fact, there's not many goalkeepers in the world who would have stopped it It would be incredibly harsh on Pears if he were dropped. Has he made a mistake? I can think of one maybe since he came in but he's done little wrong otherwise, whereas Kaminski has cost us quite a few goals this season and looked lacking in confidence before he went out of the side Dependent on form the rule is you play your best XI but I'd say it's a toss-up between Pears and Kaminski as to which is the better of the two. Pears certainly is better at playing the ball around at the back - which is a key part of our game -

Staggering. I remember a defeat at Reading (we always lose there when I go) and he was all over the place - he made John Filan look world class. I couldn't understand how he had made it in the professional game. -
I remember the old stand burning down. Most of the Lancashire town clubs rallied round with offers of help including Rovers but the so-called "big" clubs in Manchester and Liverpool said nothing.
-
Yes, agree. And what a good replacement he would have been for Shearer compared to the likes of Blake and Ward
-
You don't win 62 England caps and play about 150 games and scoring 40 goals for Liverpool by being "shit"
