  1. We can't keep waiting until we're "ready" for the PL. If the chance is there, you have to go for it and see what happens. Yes, it will be tough and we'll struggle but top-class sport is hard. A West Brom-supporting friend prefers to be at the top of the Championship instead of labouring in the PL basement because he likes seeing his team win more often Is that what it's really all about?
  2. The worst ever: England v West Germany, World Cup 1970. 2-0 up and lost 3-2. Absolutely harrowing. Still hurts now. For Rovers, there's been so many overs the years and today was as bad as any
  3. Look at some of our (excellent) crosses today. Even an average finisher would have been on the end of at least 2 of them. Gallagher just doesn't have that ability. He's been playing quite well of late by his standards but the bottom line if we are going to get anywhere is that he needs to be replaced
  4. A Wembley FA Cup appearance (even if it was a semi-final) for the famous blue and white halves is something I'd love to see in my few remaining years and to get so close is hard to take. While not quite reaching the heights of the Leicester tie Rovers put in a excellent performance and the players can hold their heads high. Lady luck did not smile on us today. This time next year, we'll be at Wembley, Rodney. Let's hope so. The sands of time are running out
  5. Not worried about going out of the cup. Piss poor post
  6. The subs have insetted us we look disorganised
  7. Aynsley Pears and Sammie Szmodics Don’t call them Shirley
  8. Five years is too long for the club and the player. Nothing is permanent in football and both need more flexibility. Three years maximum. He’s still not my favourite player to be honest and there’s still a lot of weaknesses in his game. If we do somehow get back in the Premier league he’d be one of the ones you’d be looking to replace
  9. Yes, agree. Borthwick's looking like Berg or Appleton at the moment Anyway, back to another debacle: Stoke v Rovers
  10. Hi Pep Hope you enjoyed England "thrashing" France as per your prediction Please stick your area of expertise, which is ?
  11. It was like Stoke v Rovers; one team pulling their tripe out, the other going through the motions. France were brilliant but England rugby is in disarray - again. Shaun Edwards has had a huge influence on the French defence, like he did for years with Wales. England had talks with Edwards last year but they came to nothing. A shame. Borthwick is looking a poor appointment so far
  12. Without getting into the politics, it's good to see outside the hierarchy (silence as always) the game of football and current and ex-players rally around Lineker Solidarity. As Ian Wright said
  13. So bleeding obvious - I was bellowing at the screen for Tomasson to change it even then. Huge gaps in the middle, we were far too open and not pressing and defending as a team like we did to perfection at Leicester Really - after the improvement over the past month of so where did that performance come from? I suppose you have to hand it to Neil for spotting our weaknesses but there was no excuse for the apathetic demeanour of the players. We looked better as always with Brittain at right back and later with the extra man in midfield but the match was lost by then Tomasson has to get his head round this because Championship managers would have been watching tonight and making notes.
  14. Neil did his homework on us and set up his side accordingly. Did Tomasson do the same with Stoke? It didn't look like it.
  15. So a canny manager, knowing he's coming up against another canny operator, should do the unexpected and change a winning team. Tough on those playing well, but that's football. The best managers - Guardiola etc, - do it all the time. If Tomasson had switched us about it might have thrown Neil's game plan. But then again, if the players aren't up for it (like Rovers tonight) nothing makes much of a difference
  16. 4-1 Stoke would have been a more true reflection of the game but it just goes to show with those 2 late goals that we might have stolen a point if we hadn't given away that pathetic 3rd goal. Tomasson should show that to his players and ask how one man can go past 4 players from out on the touchline without a tackle going in. Rovers continue to frustrate. I thought "performances" like that were consigned to the past
  17. Those 2 goals masked the 85 minutes of dross that went before. We got precisely what we deserved - nothing
  18. We've started playing when it's too late
  19. This performance is as bad as Burnley, Reading, Coventry, Rotherham and a few others Awful, and embarrassing The past few weeks have obviously been an aberration
  20. That Stoke player went past 4 Rovers players Pathetic
  21. One of those games when you wondered why the players bothered turning up Another miss Should be 3 or 4 to Stoke
