  1. It's decent 11 players on a pitch with a good manager and a supportive board Burnley have shown how it's done There's no reason why the likes of Sheff Wed, Preston, Bolton and Rovers etc have languished for years while former tinpot clubs have come to the fore
  2. Sheff United are not wonderful but they usually find a way to win. West Brom have been the better team tonight. I think Sheff will struggle next season without spending some serious money. There's a lack of quality in their team.
  3. Luton weren't special when I went to Kenilworth Road but they're tough and pragmatic and they get the job done and win matches. Morris is a big lump up front and you wonder how he became a professional footballer but he scores goals and is a type of player we've lacked since Danny Graham finished. Our only hope is if we somehow manage to score first and hang on grimly by defending properly to the final whistle. If Luton score first we can forget it and might as well go home. On another note if Luton, bleeding, bloody naff Luton Town, reach the Premier League I might officially go mad and need locking up in padded cell. There's enough rubbish southern fourth division clubs in the top flight without another
  4. Coventry's handball equaliser, Preston's ridiculous equaliser and now tonight. Events in the past 3 games, bloody hell has someone at Ewood crossed on the stairs or put new shoes on a table? The team has obvious shortcomings but we have had no luck whatsoever
  5. Don't deserve this and it hurts ..... probable end of our playoff hopes and them winning the Championship
  6. Not bad but no goal threat. Burnley won't mind a point but it's no good for us Change required second half
  7. Dolan out his depth not for the first time
  8. Pound for pound he hasn't been a bad signing. When he's good, he's very good, as in the second half against Preston, but sometimes he disappears and looks awkward and crab-like on the ball. Playing irregularly can;t help him though, and neither can not having a settled position, and he certainly needs to improve his finishing - he missed another sitter in the Leicester cup tie. He looks happiest and most effective on the right wing - I'd certainly play him there instead of Thomas
  9. They were pretty ordinary when I saw us lose at Kenilworth Road, but they know how to win matches
  10. Morton's been playing well recently. Yes, he's a bit lightweight and parts of his game aren't up to scratch yet but he's young and inexperienced and in a year or two when he's filled out and become stronger there is potentially a very good player in there. I can't see him being a Liverpool regular and if we had the chance to sign him at the right price I think we should take it.
  11. Has Tony finally found a cure for nosebleed, a chronic condition of his that afflicted him throughout his tenure at Ewood and caused significant distress for thousands of supporters?
  12. Sunderland 2-1 Tony loves us really
  13. For the first half of the season I had serious doubts about Tomasson. Despite our elevated league position some of the performances, particularly away from home, were some of the worst I've seen. The playing around at the back drove me mad But I have to say in recent months the players have adapted to his methods and although results have fallen away, we've been playing some excellent football at times. Leicester in the cup was one of the most enjoyable experiences in years. Tomasson has made mistakes with some of the teams he's picked and his tactics and substitutions but overall, I think it's fair to say he's done a good job with a very limited squad in terms of numbers and quality. Some players clearly aren't good enough and should have been replaced but he has had to make the best of it We could miss out on the playoffs now - which would be a huge disappointment after being in the top 6 for most of the season - but I hope he stays and is given some decent money to spend in the summer
  14. It would be horrible to lose Adam Wharton so soon in his career.. Phil Jones all over again. Wharton IMO isn't as far ahead in his development as Jones at this stage and would benefit from another season at least with Rovers. If we somehow win promotion this year it will be another incentive for him stay. If he does move, from a playing point of view IMO he should avoid a "big" club where he is likely at first to spend alot of time sitting on the bench. But in the end money will talk.
  15. Sometimes, after all the debate about tactics, substitutions, team formation, game management, the manager etc etc, this is what it boils down to. Better players would not have conceded that last minute Preston goal. A better player than Hedges would not have attempted a pathetic chip into the the keeper's arms and conceded possession and better players would have closed out the game and against Coventry It's the small errors that cost you, such as Brereton standing offside near the halfway line that led to Coventry's last attack. Better players do not make these kind of mistakes Tomasson has made mistakes too but has done well with a limited squad that has had little recent investment. Ultimately, we need better quality players
  16. Souness loved blaming "lady Luck" and you have to say we haven't had the rub of the green in recent weeks. Let's hope our luck turns on Tuesday but the players do need to concentrate better when we're under pressure. The catalogue or errors that led to Preston's goal should never have happened, and it's not the first time this season we've been caught out.
  17. Sir Les Patterson, the “face of Australian culture”, probably didn’t go down well with the notoriously sensitive natives 😁😁. An original performer and always watchable over many years.
  18. Better than last year yes and Mowbray’s ridiculous implosion but it will still be incredibly disappointing if we miss out on the playoffs having been in the top 6 for most of the season. Just a bit better late game concentration in the past 2 games and we would be 4 points better off now. It’s so frustrating and it could be made worse and the season effectively ended by the biggest insult of all with Burnley winning the title at Ewood on Tuesday
  19. That's how you lose out on promotion......
  20. Tomasson's changes strike again....... 4 points surrendered in 2 games
  21. Big Red Bus ...... here we go. If it's working why change it?
