  1. Colin working his magic at Hudds. Like Sam, another one not deemed good enough to manage BRFC
  2. Daft post, because one lead to the other
  3. Yes I know. It just grates to see them and others such as Bournemouth and Brentford and Brighton doing well when historic Lancashire town clubs such as Blackburn, Bolton and Blackpool continue to languish. Maybe it's a north-south thing Funnily enough, for some reason that I can't remember I had tickets for the 1988 League Cup final when Luton beat Arsenal at Wembley. The Stein brothers were playing for Luton. I was rooting for Luton that day because no one supports Arsenal
  4. All those would enhance the current team. Why Tony didn't play Giles in his correct position only he knows. Played 40 games for Boro this season. Good player. Khadra was inconsistent but could unlock defences - a type of player we've been lacking
  5. The nub of it really. Championship managers had us sussed out by the new year.
  6. Luton weren't "great" - and that's the point, you don't need to be wonderful to get in the playoffs, or even win automatic promotion. They're a bunch of solid, experienced performers who've been round the Championship block a few times, and they knew far too much for us the other night. Our defeat at their place was embarrassing
  7. Wages are often shared between clubs on loan deals and sometimes permanent deals. Given his struggles at Southampton, it might suit all parties
  8. I'm not sure why he's so valuable to Southampton when he's clearly failed there- 3 goals in 50 games for them Promoted Ipswich Town are eyeing him https://www.hampshirelive.news/sport/football/football-news/adam-armstrong-transfer-summer-saints-8348853
  9. Armstrong is going to be back in the Championship next season with Soton, he won't get a move to another PL club and Saints will probably looking to let him go as he's hardly set the world on fire there and restructure and rebuild after relegation - who wouldn't be averse to him coming back to Ewood?
  10. Hedges has about one good game in 5 - played well in the 2nd half against Preston (albeit his mess-up led to the late equaliser), gets a start last night and had a shocker. His finishing is poor too - he missed another sitter at Leicester. Squad player at best.
  11. With Luton it's not just the recruitment, it's the organisation and ethos behind the team - their pragmatism, not giving much away, not playing pretty passing but effective football, and have a manager (and the previous one who went to Soton) who can spot a team's weakness and who don't give anything away I hate writing this about what is really another small rubbish southern club
  12. A good manager is usually a lucky manager. You could also say we also used all our luck early in the season when we were playing badly but winning
  13. Preston away we were very unlucky to be fair. Coventry away you can add to that list, one of the worst I’ve seen
  14. Come on. As an example the “football” tonight was awful unless you enjoy watching endless passes in our defensive third. It’s excruciating to watch and so frustrating when the idea of the game is to score goals. The Luton keeper had very little to do tonight and he hasn’t been the first in many games recently ….. condemnation of our manager and his style of play
  15. It’s been an implosion of epic proportions. Five points out of 24 (?), barely believeable when we were so well placed. I’m bitterly disappointed. How people can say it’s been a successful season and they’ve enjoyed when it’s ended so badly is beyond me
  16. His game has matured at Luton. He showed glimpses of if at Rovers but needed a manager who believed in him. He was outstanding tonight
  17. Thanks for your input Excuse me if I disregard someone who thinks Dolan is the “most exciting player in the club” and anyone who says otherwise “doesn’t have a pulse”
  18. Strange reply Both managers messed it up in their own ways This season’s implosion feels more sickening though because we were so well placed just a few short weeks ago
  19. No, you’ve got it all wrong. Dolan is the “most exciting player in the club” and anyone who doesn’t think so “hasn’t got a pulse” It’s there, in black and white, in this thread, before kickoff
  20. Why were Luton poor? They played the game brilliantly. to their strengths, and should have won easily really
  21. Did he have his coat on? Maybe he was bitterly disappointed like the rest of us. I wouldn't shed a tear if he left though. This season in many ways has been more frustrating and ultimately disappointing than under Mowbray last year
  22. So the agony goes to the final game. Overall another pretty lame, spineless performance with too many players going missing Luton were tough and pragmatic and showed what is required of a top 6 team and probably should have won the match by 2 or 3 goals
  23. Have we tested their keeper this half? I thought we had a chance of the playoffs?
  24. Rovers could easily be 3 down here. And we still haven't tested their keeper this half.
  25. Make it 2-0. That's the way it's going
