Jon Dahl Tomasson - Sweden coach
jim mk2 replied to Tom's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
Slot staying so that leaves the PSV job. Eindhoven won’t have the same emotional pull for Tomasson as Feyenoord but the risk is still there. Poor old Spuds. No one wants to manage them. -

Ultimately, for Tomasson, I would imagine family will come first and if the chance arises for him to return home, or much nearer to it, he will take it. That's assuming the story of his wife opening a tea and cake shop in Whalley was someone having a bit of fun. -

Rovers, like any other club, should always have some idea on who the next manager will be. Managers come and go all the time and are only a bad run of results away from the sack - the Ewood hierarchy should be discussing now who comes next, even in the unlikely event that Tomasson decides to stay -

Do you really think Wayne Rooney writes that ? -
Souness had well and truly lost the plot by the end of his time at Ewood and should have been sacked before he eventually jumped ship, saving Williams making a hard decision Good manager for us though and gave us some great times... the promotion year, the Uefa Cup run with those 2 unforgettable ties with Celtic and the fantastic day out in Cardiff when we upset the Spurs luvvies In an interview with the LET (??) not that long ago it's clear that he loved his time at Ewood and has a genuine affection for the club. Great football man too - love listening to him on TV and the wireless

Too many games we either rolled over or didn't look interested or gave away soft goals. It happened over and again. Then there were the points lost or thrown away through lack of nous and game management. The likes of Sheff Utd and Luton looked like they'd run through a brick wall to get the job done. Our lot rarely did.
-
One point is all it needs ..... and it was Rovers who missed out again. Their players weren't much better than ours (if at all) but they had a hunger and desire and sheer guts to get the job done that we clearly did not It's been said many times. We have too many nice lads

The 2 clubs no one wanted.

Good post. Sums up the frustration felt by many when we see clubs that were out of the Football Leaguer and/or on the brink of extinction a few short years ago get within reach of the promised land while we continue to languish under one continuing "project" after another and an Ewood management clearly lacking any vision or dynamism or basic ability to drive the club forward Burnley and Sheff U are good team but overall the Championship has been weak this season and we could'should have been in the top 6 at least. A huge opportuinity missed
-
Coventry ahead, the 2 teams I didn't want in the final in prospect.
-
Did you go to Kenilworth Road phil?, because I did - and we were never at the races from the first minute to the last They won easily without really trying
-
Looton bleeding Town. Looton FFS. At Wembley. In the Championship play-off final. Meanwhile, we're supposed to savour our best season in years, because it's "progress" *Bangs head against wall*

Come on Luton, come on Sunderland What a dilemma, don't want either to win Come on Boro
-
He's out for the summer - see my previous post
-
Archer out for the summer - no surprise there - and Anderson has a groin problem. Crawley is a walking wicket, Bairstow will fail with the bat and drop crucial catches and missed stumpings, England will be about 30-3 as usual we will lose the first Test as per normal All good so far
-
Leicester’s implosion isn’t a surprise. The warning signs for them were when we won so easily at their place in the cup. Rovers played well that night but I was shocked at his poor Leicester were - and they were around mid table at the time. I wish I’d backed my hunch by putting some money on them going down - sometimes these things are so obvious
-
They’re southern. You don’t “love” southern clubs. I’d rather Burnley upset the “establishment” than the likes of Brighton or Brentford
-
I’m frustrated and saddened and very annoyed that Rovers also used to be a well run club that regularly gave the so called bigger clubs a punch on the nose but not in my worst nightmares would I ever love Brighton

Middlesbrough v Sunderland final is the ideal with Boro giving Tony’s Mackems a good stuffing. Coventry or Luton - no thanks.

End of season report
jim mk2 replied to Proudtobeblue&white's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
B minus The promised land of the playoffs looked virtually certain but results fell away when it really mattered and in the end we weren't good enough - again We've been out of the Premier League for 10 years plus and never once made the top 6 - meanwhile Sunderland come up from League One and make it at the first attempt. That is a huge and continuing indictment of the club. The FA Cup defeat was harrowing and should not have happened It was a strange season - we played badly and were largely awful to watch for many months yet results were very good. Then the football improved as the players finally seemed to embrace Tomasson's methods but results got progressively worse. Some players have progressed nicely while others have seemingly gone backwards. Rovers have to get it right this summer with good quality Championship standard performers or better identified early and signed early - no more last minute rejects from PL clubs please. And Tomasson has to show he's learnt from this season's huge disappointment -
Anyone but Luton please Coventry and Sunderland would hurt too, the former because their fans don't like us for some reason and the latter because of Mowbray Boro it is then, the least worst option

v Millwall (a) - Monday 8th May
jim mk2 replied to arbitro's topic in Blackburn Rovers Fans Messageboard
My feelings too I was out all day yesterday and missed all the fun and games and only looked at the scores when I got home Woo hoo, we won, and came from behind too, and I'm sure the fans at Millwall enjoyed it, but in the end so bleeding what? It was our first win in 8, the playoffs chance well and truly botched after a dreadful run, and another promising season wasted and come to naught And Mowbray in the playoffs and Preston effectively scuppering us twice added to the feelings of frustration and disappointment
