Post See new posts Conversation Andy Bayes @AndyBayes Valérien Ismaël is to be the next head coach of Blackburn Rovers. The former Barnsley, West Brom and Watford boss is expected to take charge against Norwich on Saturday.
-
Yes, we need some Valerien steel.

I like that VI looks tough, like a manager should. I always felt that JE looked like he could be picked on at school.

"Rovers interviewed candidates last week before narrowing down their options to a shortlist of around six. Of those, there remain several names that have not been made public and have not even been linked in the betting markets."
-
Another timely reminder, if reports are accurate, that this is who we are. A zombie club, with few ambitions than keeping the show ticking over and planning for things to get worse.
-
Just a tease, with some element of truth - who expects us to been the top six. come the end of the season?
-
I fully expect us to drop down to 10th, and the sooner we do the less the stress will be for all of us.
-
We need to dust ourselves down.
-
I can only assume that we are in the negotiations phase, so is it one free John Bull, peas and gravy, or two, a week?
-
I'll put the word out with my MCR friends and associates to be on the lookout for the Wagg.

I have to say that I have no idea who I think the next manager should be. Duffer and the foreign coaches have no experience in this league and those who do have lost their jobs due to failure in past roles. I suspect that that the main criteria is that hey will need to be able to work with few resources in a chaotic environment. And not complain about it.

Excellent Ian. Not easy doing these interviews. -
The man in charge has great hair.

I know football management is a crazy business, but Edwards' team is bottom of the league and Wellens was sacked by several lower league clubs.
-
Maybe, but I thought his use of "we" was odd, not least as we sold him off as soon as we got promoted.
-
David Speedie @DavidSpeedie10 John should be ashamed of himself, we gave him a chance to shine and he’s turned around and left us when we needed him the most. Sadly loyalty is hard to find in the modern game and I hope the club can find someone who will finally lead us back to the premier league.
