Have to say I think it's a nonsense charging £15 for a ticket. With the trains out between Manchester & Stockport I was thinking off missing this one and this may well make my mind up. How can a 3rd division (or whatever they call it) club charge that when Preston are charging £10.

Fair enough I assumed you were referring to the Sun apology. I'll leave it at that then. -
The Sun - And Its Pile Of **** Apology.
Manchester Blue replied to SkemLad's topic in Messageboard Gold
But that's the whole point the Sun have come out with a very half-hearted apology 15 years to late and only because of the Rooney situation. Even in the 'apology' they can't resist turning it into another slanging match with the Mirror. So you see your comment of 'a sincere apology means nothing to a Scouser' is not only offensive but comlpetely untrue. The only regret the Sun has for what it did is the millions they have lost on Merseyside as a result of the boycott. The apology isn't worth the paper it is written on. Also the boycott is only a minor part of the campaign. The fact that the families still haven't recieved any justice and that cover-ups and disgraces have still gone unpunished means these people can never truly rest. As one of the many books on the subject that can be read is called 'No last rights'. That is what they are fighting for and if you haven't the time or inclination to take any interest then just don't read let alone post on the thread. -

Waggy once you've clicked on book online at the top you should get a page with 'book online in £' in a big blue circle click on that and it opens up a new window. On there is a button to click for online booking where you then put in your details. -
The Sun - And Its Pile Of **** Apology.
Manchester Blue replied to SkemLad's topic in Messageboard Gold
Sorry but that is rubbish. Roversactive came on moaning about the length of the 'essay's and then said if I went onto a Liverpool site posting stuff it would be unwelcome. That shows a lack of understanding of what the subject is about beyond belief. Then said 'a sincere apology means nothing to a Liverpool fan'. Now I can apprecaite people having different points of view but this issue is not about Liverpool or Blackburn it's more important than that. If someone wasn't around or can't when it happened or can't be bothered reading then please don't bother but stop posting nonsense. The argument of whether it's cloggin up the messageboard is for the mods & admin if you don' want to read then please stop doing so. -

Manchester Blue replied to SkemLad's topic in Messageboard Gold
Roversactive came onto the thread asking Skemlad to stop posting despite the fact that many people have appreciated and supported the posts he has made. Like Ricky says it's quite clear from the thread what it's about so if you don't want to read then don't. To suggest that because this is a Blackburn website it shouldn't be on is nonsense. This incident should concern us all because it could have been any club that was affected. It is not their boycott it is many other like minded souls that were appalled at the disgrace that was carried out by that rag. -

Or the Police opened a gate they should never have done and too many people flooded into a pen that was already hopelessly overcrowded. -
If it's decent footy books then Cascasrino's 'Full Time' takes some beating. So different from the usual biography and really interesting.

You're acting a little precious aren't you? My post was in response to a couple of the previous posts (namely Manchester Blue's & Tris's) who instantly dismissed the news about Flitcroft as nothing to be remotely concerned about. I didn't agree. Is that OK with you? You point out the part of my post where I instantly dismissed the story as nothing to be concerned about. I clearly stated I was unsurprised by the news as it was typical Souness. I am not overly concerned as it happens because unlike you I don't think Flitcroft carries much influence in the dressing room anymore. If that makes a 'Souness lover' then so be it but I think that's pretty daft really. -

Not surprising at all and i'm surprised that so many people are surprised by it. Seriously though it's another demonstration of how ruthless Souness is and for me as long as the team does well then it's all that matters. It must be remembered that rumour has it that Flitcroft had become unpopular in the dressing room and as such the decision may not upset the other players all that much. Football is a ruthless business, not just at Blackburn but at many other clubs. They are like kids really and the amount of players, managers etc that don't talk let alone get on would amaze people, or should that be surprise them. -

Agree with much of what you say Phil. However I can't agree that the vast majority know exactly what they are reading. Sadly I would say a fair majority of Sun readers often believe much of what is written in the press which is why it's so worrying at times. Incidentally Skem Lad another couple of great posts. I remember watching the 'drama' that was on ITV years ago starring Christopher Eccleston, it was impossible to watch that and not have tears in your eyes. I believe the programme was made with the assistance of some of the affected, apologies if i'm wrong, and certainly was moving. The payouts to certain police officers considering the actions of them and their colleagues on the day is nothing short of a disgrace. -
[Archived] Season Ticket Sales?
Manchester Blue replied to Mike Graham's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
The season ticket renewal deadline was earlier then that it was this year. Before June even. Season tickets were being sent out before Dunn was sold let alone Duff. Dunn being sold was accepted by many as no bad thing due to his attitude and form. Many Birmingham fans would argue that it has not improved. Duff was widely expected to leave the year before. He didn't but attendances were still up despite us finshing 10th. Oh that's right we won a cup, them things that Souness comes out and says he doesn't want to win, only in the Revidge daily post though as ive never seen them. Bolton may be twice the size of Blackburn but it is also in Greater Manchester and has a lot more problems than we do in attracting fans that for a long time only wanted to watch Man U and Man City. -

Great posts Tris & Colin. I do fine it disturbing that people can make snidey comments or sly digs really. Like Colin said just imagine if it was our fans, which it could easily have been. How would we feel if that rag had behaved like that? Would 15 years have eased the pain? I don't think so. -

Err....hello? I'm here you know! Apart from my dozens of posts making that point then yes Scotty is more or less alone.... Be fair. A hell of a lot of the posters on here realise the problems Rovers face due to their location. O.K. both of you then. Be fair, I did say "more or less" alone. It's still not an accurate point however many you add Revidge. Scotty's post is very good and the points it makes are accurate but to suggest he is alone in 'understanding' the challenges is frankly nonsense and quite insulting. Of course Blackburn is a small town and I have argued many times with opposition fans about our crowds being decent in comparison. The fact is though you just want to concentrate on your own part of the argument whhich is size of town. I've never said the club should be dragging in thousands more I just want to know why our crowds are dropping even when we have done well. You argue selling our best player(s) even though that was after the event. You then argue cup games and I rightly point out that Bolton have a far worse attitude to cup games than us changing the full team at times. What happens? The fans just don't turn up, but they are back for the sell-out league games the next week. Why's that then or will you just argue a different point again. I could finish by saying only Tris truly understands the situation, but a) it's not true, B ) it's insulting and degrades the many good points raised by people I don't necessarily agree with like Scotty, Alan, FLB & Paul and you even. -

Ha ha ha...read it all now. What year is blackburn the capital of culture, and what else are you famous for? Just bitter lad...oooohhh, taste that lemon. Skem lad not all in fact hardly any of us agree with Jim's view on this. Sadly he is a bitter ex-hack himself so not really in a position to comment. Keep up the fight. -

Incidentally whilst we're on about Mike Bassett, sorry I mean Big Fat Sam. Who has played almost a full team of reserves in the cup games. Who as similarly said comments like 'priority is to stay up'. Who's summer signings consist of Bridges (no goals in 3 years), Ferdinand playing his last season for 5th year running and some Tunisian nobody. Whilst he does a good job of getting the best out of 'certain' players he has as many flaws as our own manager if not more. They are team full of old freebies. Yet he is praised as being a legend yet our own manager brings in a few freebies and get's slated, that's loyalty for you. We'll see how good they do this year with another revamped team, less Sky money than us again as I predicted and dissatisfaction from the fans if things don't start well. -

Because if people don't like the negative approach to everything, including cup games, they wont exactly bust a gut to get down to Ewood, will they? Doesn't stop Boloton fans though does it they just skip the cup games, including the semi-final incidentally. -

The argument about the cups is a funny one because Souness has said nothing different than Allardyce, if anything we have taken the cups far more seriously than they do. What happens there is people don't go to the cup games. Now forgive me if I'm wrong but aren't cup matches excluded from you season ticket and as such what effect should they have. Every time we have this debate people come back with the 'great support for a town our size' argument. It is one that cannot and has not been disputed by myself or anyone else. What I want to know is why our crowds go down when every other clubs are going up. Size of town can't be it because they were there before, quality of product, well Spurs, Everton and a few others Bolton included have been pretty poor but haven't suffered. Another one I love is the matches being moved mean people can't travel. Hang on I thought all our fans were from Blackburn & Darwen so why should that matter. I'm a season ticket holder and have never lived in Blackburn. Anyway i'm sure we can keep going over it and over it but at the end of the day the facts are that we finshed 6th and our crowds went down by 2000, before Duff left. How can you possibly argue that success and good football will bring them back, on what grounds can you base that. -

I for one would never suggest Rovers fans are the worst in the world yet we seem to be suffering at a time when no other Premiership club seems to be. I may well be clinging onto beliefs but 'ill-informed', I don't think so. As Ste says season ticket sales were well down before Duff left so were all those fans Psychic. Last year cost was the reason argued, this time it's poor results, oh and the players not behaving. Next year no doubt it'll be the pies being too cold and the poor quality of the programmes. We do ok but I was agreeing with Ossydave that the club have done all they can and the fans will either renew or not bother. Not a lot seems to change that. -

Me & Scotty are on the Seacat Saturday to Sunday as well so may well bump into you. Should be a good laugh anyway. -
If only..... JFH is going to Qatar to play alongside the De Boer's seems he really is only interested in the dollar so wouldn't have been all that good a signing. p.s Skysports report says he denys this now so who knows what to believe as they had him quoted this morning confirming it.

I will when you name me another Premiership club which has seen it's crowds dwindle despite qualifying for Europe twice, finishing top ten twice and wopn a trophy in the last 3 years -
