    Only minor update,

I have sent my emails and responses to the owners, who have acknowledged reciept,

Be interesting what their take is, but i suspect they will ask the questions which is the norm when reached out to

Good work Glen. I made my own plea to SWag a couple of months but didn't get even an acknowledgment or otherwise...

Really hope someone listens for a change!

  2. Kaminski is the better 'keeper hands down. He's also bigger and has much more a presence about him. I think there were a few occasions that Pears seemed to make bad decisions. The 1st goal conceded vs Norwich where he basically stood on his line is a prime example of this.

Kaminski HAS to be No.1. I'd be interested to see points per game with and without him between the sticks.

When is it the players usually know they’re playing? Instagram & them usually putting posts/stories before hand saying “game day” etc is usually the case that they’re starting (not always). Sorba Thomas has done it so I’d say it’s likely that he’s starting. Which I hope!

Hope so too. Played our best football all season when he's been in the side IMHO. Gives us an easy outlet to hit and his pace frightens defences

  4. I haven't read anything on the thread post game so apologies if anything I say has already been said:

Was as bad as it gets.

Reminded me of the Wigan game in January. Monday is going to be as hard as nails and Huddersfield will have a big crowd and be pumped. Dolan must start for his energy and obviously we will be without Thomas which makes it even more odd why he didn't start yesterday.

The only positive for me from yesterday is that it's obvious Adam Wharton must start on Monday. He was a cut above when he came on and his movement and vision started to make things happen.

Pears also out. He was awful for the opening goal opting to stay on his line and make it so easy for Gibbs to open his body and find the top corner.

2 years on the run that Pears has got us out the cup with his dodgy keeping.  Sorry, I want my keepers to perform when it counts. Pears is bog standard.

I think that's overly harsh. Don't forget Pears also made a very good one on one save in the same game. I ceratainly don't reflect on the QF and blame him for the defeat. The defending for their 2nd and 3rd goals are the issues not the goalkeeping.

  6. BBD was taken off injured after 50 mins last night but early reports suggest its just a knock. But with that in mind I would guess that the Chilean hitman may well sit this one out or at least start on the bench.

    Pears

    JRC Carter Hyam Pickering

            Travis Morton

    Thomas Szmodics Dolan

                Gallagher

No because the linesman is told to keep his flag down if it is close and let VAR handle it. Linemen simply don't flag in the Premier League now unless it is miles off. They rarely flag after the ball goes in unless it was fairly obvious.

Had VAR not been in operation, the linesman would have had to make a call and may have put his flag up.

Linesmen keep their flag down during "open play" whether its close or not. They then put it up if they think its offside when the game has come to a standstill and then let the VAR do his/her thing.

  8. Job done. To coin a Mowbrayism - we put the points in the bag and we move on.

Nervy, tense, edgey, flat. Everything I thought it might be. A tough scenario in a game you are supposed to win especially when you score so early and the game almost feels too 'easy'. After the equaliser I thought we would do what we have done so often in the past when we get a sucker punch and just find it almost impossible to get ourselves going again - but this side are now made of sterner stuff.

I was aghast at the Thomas change initially as I thought, as usual, he was proving a decent outlet. Understood the Dolan one as I thought BBD looked like he was holding his hamstrings, but Hedges came up trumps with a lovely finish just inside the corner (from my angle in the BBE I thought he had put it wide).

Special mentions for me for Travis, Gallagher and Szmodics. Travis looks rejuvenated and Gallagher is starting to look like the centre forward his physique will allow him to be. He's putting himself about and is winning aerial duals and flick-ons that are aimed towards him. Szmodics is a revelation and his energy and cute little runs are causing teams all sorts of issues. The way the team is playing I think we can put down to he and Thomas being in the side brining energy and verve. Hoping SS, and we, can maintain the energy on Sunday.

That's true but I assume BigUts will be using Merseyrail first which shouldn't have those sort of issues.

The state of the trains on Sunday are a big worry. I don't care about getting home but getting there on time is the most important thing 😄

You're correct that will be the first leg of my journey to Lime Street. Northern really are the bottom of the barrel and have been for a long time (I used to work for a travel company that dealt with nearly all of the TOCs).

I know a few neutrals that have got tickets for tonight's game. £10 a ticket for live championship football is an appealing prospect it seems. I think the club offering this promotion can only be seen as a positive and that's despite seeing a few opinions that have somehow turned it into a negative. Maybe 'The Halo Effect' could be at play there.

Same. I'm bringing 3 Everton fans with me 😁

  11. It isn't "must-win" but we absolutely have to win this game if we have any designs on finishing within the play-offs. There will indeed be further twists and turns but you can't always guarantee they'll drop in your favour.

The more we can do to mitigate them affecting us as the season draws to a close then it'll make our job a hell of a lot easier and a lot less stressful.
