I like them generally, but I'm sure the Rovers TV lads are gonna be in their annoying PR mode today, crowing about what a great transfer window we've had, and how it was inevitable that Wharton would be off to greater things.

We'll if it's the choice between resigning on the spot and forgoing your severance pay, or going through one last match, saying goodbye to the fans and getting your money, it seems like an easy choice.

'Dunc' or whoever else, these incomings feel completely irrelevant to me. Forcing out Wharton is such a ridiculous, boneheaded decision, this feels like as low a point as since the Kean era. What are we if we can't keep our star talent who loves the club, and clearly wants to continue to play for the club? Instead we push him out, for less money then we would get in six months! And what happens to the money? Poof, it's gone! Sucked up into that black hole. They're really testing us. If I had any sort of free will in this matter, I would be gone. But, like all of us on here, we can't switch it off, we're Rovers fans till we die. I guess that's the only positive side. We'll be here be long after their gone. Whenever they end up crawling away one day, we'll be here, because it's our club, not theirs.

Just ridiculous to be selling him now days before the end of the window. We'll spend a few million in the next few days, and then the rest of the money will never be seen of again. Even more when you think he's almost certainly only gonna get more valuable from now till the summer, and we'd have a fair chance of getting a bidding war going then as well.

Jesus, how low our standards have fallen. "It's fine selling our best academy product in a generation, as long as we can keep 20% of the transfer to reinvest into the squad."
