  1. Hedges and Gallagher for Brereton and Vale please
  2. Yep- some dodgy output/quality, perhaps a bit rusty, but he does look faster/stronger than what we’re used to seeing!
  3. Did you miss the replay? Pathetic from Thomas holding his face
  4. We’re looking worse and worse as the weeks progress.
  5. That was awful from Brereton, not sure how he is holding his place lately, especially considering he doesn’t want to hang around here.
  6. Perhaps a little unfair then given the time frames I agree. Regarding resources, didn’t we spend more in the summer than we have since Brereton was signed? He also has an extra years experience on a decent academy bunch (if he actually decided to use Adam Wharton for example) Agree that the ‘project’ stuff is just empty words, nevertheless frustrating that we just continuously have it rammed down our throats.
  7. Am I right in thinking Mowbray said the exact same thing (and rightly got slated) when we were 2nd / 3rd last season?…”I don’t look at the table” Also this continuous “we are building”, “it’s a project” etc. Are we safe to say JDT and Egg will have failed if we finish with fewer points / lower position to last season? Especially considering we were a 3rd place team in Feb last year, and finished 8th. Say a 12th place finish this year, with less points and worse GD is surely a failure, and no building is done with only a 6 month loan that a rival club are willing to give us.
  8. Absolutely baffling that you weren’t entertained when we 1) won promotion 2) won the league cup 3) finished 6th multiple times in the league and 4) played in multiple European competitions. That 25 years should be 15 years. We were entertaining in the 00s. From the Duff/Jansen/Dunn team to the Bentley, Bellamy, Santa Cruz, McCarthy team.
  9. Over 25k average in 2010 under Alladyce finishing 15th, about 4k up on finishing 6th under Hughes 2006 and 2007 Common factor was the ‘Fortress Ewood’ campaign with £199 season tickets. As you say about leadership - 10k-12k is only our ‘base level’ whilst we have our highest ever priced season tickets, have shambolic and embarrassing transfer windows, have uninterested owners, do nothing to improve it in community, local towns and local schools. But yeah, we should all be happy with that at little Blackburn Rovers.
  10. So much wrong with this but let’s start with: 1) Compare averages of other clubs to that era and all increase not remain flat. Live football and attendances were so different then. 2) What’s the town and suburb population like versus those years? Has it remained flat? (No is the answer) 3) Surely having the ‘Glory Support’ years gives us massive advantage now versus the 70s / 80s. We had a decent period of 20k home fans year on year which we could bounce off but instead have lost through the inept running of the club. 4) Away fans weren’t as big in those years so take those thousands off Honestly, i’m convinced you and mashed potato brain would fluff the pillows if you caught Greg/Waggot in bed with your missus
  11. Do I still need to say a big apology to Greg as many were blabbing about on here at 9pm last night?
  12. Surely O’Brien is the only one worth actual praise. Undav is a massive unknown, could be great but we’ve not a clue at this level. Belgium and German 3rd division isn’t much to shout about. Thomas has been given to us from a team competing with us, not sure that’s a mega coup that only lord Broughton could get for us. Will say I’m delighted with O’Brien though. Position we really needed to improve and he would do it. Would love to see him alongside Wharton.
  13. No, it was Jutkiewicz but it was a shot from the middle of the box and thankfully went straight at Kaminski. 90th minute or so. He had switched off. Dolan was around from memory. But you’re right there was also the header, perhaps a weakness in terms of positional sense from crosses (exactly why I don’t think he should be considered at RB for us)
  14. The Brum chance before their 2nd goal where the cross went to the back post and he was on the wrong side of his man, on his heels and far too slow to react offering a very easy opportunity, shows why he shouldn’t be considered as a full back. Wouldn’t be against giving him a run further forward though given our options are fairly bleak these days.
  15. No excuses at all, though I expect we will use it as one. Broughton doesn’t need to be sat in the Birmingham corporate. He and Waggot need to be in their office doing their job. Anyone we might be willing to sell shouldn’t be in the squad anyway.
  16. It’s just all so depressing isn’t it. - The pitch, just sums the club up at the moment, a complete shit heap and we’ve had no game on it for 25 odd days. - The January window, we have 1 loanee in from a club in this division who doesn’t want him anymore for a position which we probably have the most depth and strength (at least for the remainder of this season with Diaz, Hedges, Markanday and Dolan) - The on-pitch product. 7 points from last 8 league games and 10 from last 10. A loan from Liverpool who is treated as the 2nd coming from management, either contractually or mis-managed. Either way it held back youth development (Wharton when fit earlier in the season in particular) - Regression under the regime, nobody can tell me these players haven’t got worse this season (even from a low bar starting point): Gallagher, Travis, Kaminski, Wharton, Diaz - The asset management. Diaz joining the list of Nyambe, Lenihan and Rothwell in leaving for free making it £20m+ of assets getting no return….oh except this time we have to keep playing and paying him for the season! - On top of all that add in the commercial / community aspect of the club these days….most expensive tickets we’ve had, low attendances, stadium run down, losing fans in the catchment area, no presence in local towns or schools etc (from within the club anyway) I am still waiting for that moment of positivity that I can talk about for ‘balanced discussion’
  17. How many days of the transfer window are open? By my counting we need 2 x CM, 1 x ST, 1 x GK, 1 x LB minimum
  18. Comical defending. They should have scored the chance earlier too. Cannot believe JDT has left Morton on here.
  19. More Brereton than Diaz recently. Surprised he didn’t take it around the keeper.
  20. First time we’ve taken the lead since going behind all season I think isn’t it. Might even be the first time we drew level after conceding!
  21. When he first came through he often played further up if memory serves me right? Sometimes in midfield, and very occasionally wide right attack. In the old, regular Nyambe vs JRC debate, he was often praised for being far better going forward (this was prior to his long term injury)
  22. Wharton has created more G/A in about 1/5th the games this season as Morton. When he’s fit he should be instantly back in the side. Especially with Dacky playing so well, those two will link up brilliantly Pick out the hat who goes next to him so long as it isn’t Morton
  23. Kaminski needs dropping Khadra has shown more than we’ve got out of our attacking players for weeks (despite that being not much)
  24. It’s absolutely shocking. The club is an absolute mess from top to bottom.
  25. How the bollocks does that myth from Liverpool start every single week?!
