  1. Great point, a lot of talk about ‘if we had a decent striker we win that’ or that ‘we’re just missing a number 9’. As you say, we’re creating barely anything. What 2 or 3 decent chances against the worst team in the league at home? A top 6 creates at least double that.
  2. What I’ve taken away from that shocking 2 hours (remembering we’re at home to bottom of the league) - Interesting that the comms mentioned we’re 24th (rock bottom) in xG, it’s starting to become well known how truly bad we are. - I wouldn’t play Diaz again all season. Thomas, Hedges, Dolan to rotate on the wing. - JRC has to keep his place in some form when Brittain is fit - Adam Wharton should be straight back in when fit we haven’t solved CM despite Travis performing well. You thought Buckley was bad….up steps Tyler Morton with as poor a cameo as you’ll get. - Whatever they’re being coached, it’s shocking. I’m sure I read we have a set pieces coach too, but our throw ins just get lobbed down the line to nobody….then that free-kick, wow! We also looked dodgy on every defensive corner. We look worse and worse each game and the football quality is as bad as I can ever remember. This lot aren’t up to the job I’m afraid. 24th in xG….keep going at this rate and that’ll be reality next season. Shite pitch and facilities, a January window more embarrassing than any we’ve ever had, CEO from a TV sitcom, extremely boring football and completely uninterested owners. The joys of Rovers!
  3. JRC our best player to be fair, starting to think I’d give him a run at #9 😂 would be a vast improvement on anything we’ve got!
  4. Yeah - think he meant 2nd half stats that they quoted
  5. WHAT ARE THEY COACHING THEM?
  6. Our shocking pitch doing some damage.
  7. Diaz touched the ball this half? That bloke isn’t playing for Chile again.
  8. Thomas looks an improvement on what we had, both physically, but also as a proper winger. Would like to see himself and Hedges wide. Would have been nice alongside an O’Brien / Wharton midfield
  9. Much better when utilised as a box to box midfielder, going forward with the ball.
  10. Honestly what are they coaching these guys? That throw-in looped down the line giving ourselves no chance, it’s pathetic. Shocking from the players and coaching alike.
  11. Hedges and Gallagher for Brereton and Vale please
  12. Yep- some dodgy output/quality, perhaps a bit rusty, but he does look faster/stronger than what we’re used to seeing!
  13. Did you miss the replay? Pathetic from Thomas holding his face
  14. We’re looking worse and worse as the weeks progress.
  15. That was awful from Brereton, not sure how he is holding his place lately, especially considering he doesn’t want to hang around here.
  16. Perhaps a little unfair then given the time frames I agree. Regarding resources, didn’t we spend more in the summer than we have since Brereton was signed? He also has an extra years experience on a decent academy bunch (if he actually decided to use Adam Wharton for example) Agree that the ‘project’ stuff is just empty words, nevertheless frustrating that we just continuously have it rammed down our throats.
  17. Am I right in thinking Mowbray said the exact same thing (and rightly got slated) when we were 2nd / 3rd last season?…”I don’t look at the table” Also this continuous “we are building”, “it’s a project” etc. Are we safe to say JDT and Egg will have failed if we finish with fewer points / lower position to last season? Especially considering we were a 3rd place team in Feb last year, and finished 8th. Say a 12th place finish this year, with less points and worse GD is surely a failure, and no building is done with only a 6 month loan that a rival club are willing to give us.
  18. Absolutely baffling that you weren’t entertained when we 1) won promotion 2) won the league cup 3) finished 6th multiple times in the league and 4) played in multiple European competitions. That 25 years should be 15 years. We were entertaining in the 00s. From the Duff/Jansen/Dunn team to the Bentley, Bellamy, Santa Cruz, McCarthy team.
  19. Over 25k average in 2010 under Alladyce finishing 15th, about 4k up on finishing 6th under Hughes 2006 and 2007 Common factor was the ‘Fortress Ewood’ campaign with £199 season tickets. As you say about leadership - 10k-12k is only our ‘base level’ whilst we have our highest ever priced season tickets, have shambolic and embarrassing transfer windows, have uninterested owners, do nothing to improve it in community, local towns and local schools. But yeah, we should all be happy with that at little Blackburn Rovers.
  20. So much wrong with this but let’s start with: 1) Compare averages of other clubs to that era and all increase not remain flat. Live football and attendances were so different then. 2) What’s the town and suburb population like versus those years? Has it remained flat? (No is the answer) 3) Surely having the ‘Glory Support’ years gives us massive advantage now versus the 70s / 80s. We had a decent period of 20k home fans year on year which we could bounce off but instead have lost through the inept running of the club. 4) Away fans weren’t as big in those years so take those thousands off Honestly, i’m convinced you and mashed potato brain would fluff the pillows if you caught Greg/Waggot in bed with your missus
  21. Do I still need to say a big apology to Greg as many were blabbing about on here at 9pm last night?
  22. Surely O’Brien is the only one worth actual praise. Undav is a massive unknown, could be great but we’ve not a clue at this level. Belgium and German 3rd division isn’t much to shout about. Thomas has been given to us from a team competing with us, not sure that’s a mega coup that only lord Broughton could get for us. Will say I’m delighted with O’Brien though. Position we really needed to improve and he would do it. Would love to see him alongside Wharton.
  23. No, it was Jutkiewicz but it was a shot from the middle of the box and thankfully went straight at Kaminski. 90th minute or so. He had switched off. Dolan was around from memory. But you’re right there was also the header, perhaps a weakness in terms of positional sense from crosses (exactly why I don’t think he should be considered at RB for us)
  24. The Brum chance before their 2nd goal where the cross went to the back post and he was on the wrong side of his man, on his heels and far too slow to react offering a very easy opportunity, shows why he shouldn’t be considered as a full back. Wouldn’t be against giving him a run further forward though given our options are fairly bleak these days.
  25. No excuses at all, though I expect we will use it as one. Broughton doesn’t need to be sat in the Birmingham corporate. He and Waggot need to be in their office doing their job. Anyone we might be willing to sell shouldn’t be in the squad anyway.
