  1. Oh god he’s going with Buckley right back again? Does he want potting?
  2. So many issues with this team but Lenihan and Johnson are the 2 clear ones screaming out. Darragh is a walking red card every time he plays, and as someone mentioned above Johnson doesn’t have the legs for 3 in midfield. It’s affects the other midfielders around him.
  3. Why on earth was Johnson marking Sarr. Do they work on set pieces? It’s comically bad.
  4. Plenty of space on the pitch, which would suit Dack, be nice to see 45 mins from him. Maybe it’s a stretch though. Gutted for Trybull, from what I saw against Stoke/Brentford (before being pulled by Mowbray), he’s far superior to Johnson, more tempo and pressure on the opposition. Rothwell had a good half and Nyambe solid too. Bell isn’t playing like Carlos but still an improvement on Douglas.
  5. We just need to give Armstrong 4 more chances and we’ll take the lead.
  6. Was this mentioned anywhere prior to purchase? Such a shocking offering. Can you even get Huddersfield comms? EDIT: Just checked and you can get Home commentary so I guess that’ll have to do.
  7. Well I’m glad for those changes. Johnson seems pretty undroppable though. Hope it’s Trybull holding and Johnson pushing on.
  8. This is the first match I'm debating whether to pay or not. I think I will wait and see the starting 11 and make a judgement then. If Gallagher is plonked on the wing again / he continues with Douglas then I think I'll give it a miss. Will it be the end of the Mowbray 'death spiral'? I'm not holding my breath. The away match to Huddersfield at the same time last season was in the middle of a poor run (3 points from 6 matches). Good away day, shocking performance, and the last time I was at a game with my Dad and Brother.
  9. This is 100% our best front 6. It’s just knowing the format it works best. I tend to agree, if it’s 433 that we’d be a little exposed with Dack in there. However I’d worry we’d lose the burst from Rothwell like we saw today if he’s deeper like this. Either way, these are the 6 I want to see when fully fit in the new year, and Johnson/Trybull for Travis until he’s back.
  10. We create plenty of chances, as shown by the amount of shots he actually requires to put the ball in the net. (12 non-penalty goals now from 90 shots - 7.5 shots per goal) see below for team shots in the league. We create plenty, he just isn’t much better than a championship striker. I do agree with other posts though, he isn’t the issue here or today. Far more pressing areas which Mowbray is getting wrong (although I’m usually first to call out Armstrong)
  11. - Worst I’ve seen Elliott play for us, first time though so no concerns here. - No more Douglas please, return him in January if we can. - Nice touches from Dack, if he starts CM then I imagine we lose our high press a little (feels like this has been gone for weeks mind you) - Great goal from Rothwell, he’s a mainstay in the middle now. - Holtby was brilliant in the first 5/10 weeks of the season but he’s really looked slow and average since then. Slows us down too much, perhaps should only start as our holding midfielder. E.g. did we need Johnson holding in this game? - Nothing to add about Mowbray that hasn’t already been said. I think those suggesting he can progress us to the next level need to open their eyes. This was our best chance for many years now and we’re sat mid-table half way through.
  12. This is dire. It’s been poor for a few weeks but we’ve truly hit a low point here. We’re not even playing good/entertaining football, has their keep even made a save? Bar the Armstrong pee-roller early on.
  13. The Sheff Wed left back hasn’t looked too shabby. Would be keeping an eye on him given their struggles if I was TM
  14. Holtby looked like one of our best players in the first 5/10 games, but since he’s been pretty average. Really frustrating, feels like he could play in the holding role but it’s a waste of one of the attacking central roles. Hope Brereton is fit enough as we need him in this game I think.
  15. I don’t think ifollow is available to chromecast (it wasn’t at the back end of last season anyway). I’ve just been using a hdmi from laptop to tv now.
  16. Dack and Brereton both back on the bench. Keep both fit and we won’t see much of Gallagher in 2021. Be nice to have a decent lead and see them both today.
  17. What a bizarre list of clubs. Why are we comparing to Luton, Wycombe, Coventry and Barnsley to a certain extent? They’ve spent majority of the time in L1 over the last 4 years. Wycombe comparison is laughable Regarding the others they’ve spent plenty of the last few years. Swansea just the £55m in the first year Mowbray was with us. Another £6m the year after. Of course they had to cut costs they were relegated 3 or so years ago. Cardiff £45m in 18/19 also been up and down so will inevitably cut some costs Preston are massively underfunded, and have been for a while. Their fans are always seething about it. If these clubs are making cuts it’s because of the ridiculous fees paid in previous years. We were all a bit worried about the £7m on Brereton and £5m wasted on Gallagher but Brereton is starting to look a bit better and we can cut our loses on SG and call that a loser but sell Armstrong for £15m (signed him for £1.5m?) if we were desperate. Where I stand is that yes he has had a nice budget since we came back up, but I also think he’s gained some assets which we haven’t sold (yet). Mainly Armstrong and Dack who both he signed for a couple of million would be £30m now (if Dack is the same player he was). We can’t hold it against him that he hasn’t had to sell players to make our net spend look nicer, that’s the owners doing as well. We CAN hold it against him though if he holds onto them AND also fails to progress us into the playoffs as a minimum. I think that’s fair now as at the end of the season we’ll have 2 years and 1.5 years out of our £12m investments.
  18. Great news and hopefully shows the commitment to other players that we’re still intent on progressing, leading to them signing too (Nyambe primarily)
  19. Anyone watching got any view on how Dack looked?
  20. Weird with Douglas isn’t it as he’s left footed. His first touch always seems to take him inside onto his right. I can only assume it’s as he knows he doesn’t have the pace to ever take it past the opposition so it’s always a negative first touch and a pass back to CB or CM
  21. Because despite the fact we’re cowards we’re still 5 points off top with Sheff Wed, Hudds and Birmingham next to play to take us to playing each team once. You can be cowards and still finish 6th. You can’t win the league though or get remotely close to that. Likewise, there’s a very small chance Mowbray addresses it in January (I doubt it) or Dack/Travis give us that bit more bite especially Travis when they’re back.
  22. I’m less deflated by this than some of the other performances recently. We deserved more from that than Rotherham, Millwall etc. Few things do stand out though: - Has to be the end for Gallagher, can only be a bit part sub for time wasting in the last 10 mins now, if even that. Surely when Dack and Brereton are back he doesn’t start (shouldn’t now either) - I’m usually a defender of Buckley but he isn’t there, too slow for our style with 3 midfielders. Needs a loan in January to a L1 team. - Mowbray has to take a lot / all of the blame for this, he didn’t need to change the whole midfield, no game until Saturday, they’ve been rotated a lot recently anyway so all fully fit. Only the Gallagher change was needed. It’s not over, 6th is to play for easily, but we need to put away these ‘easier’ games coming up. We’re cowards and have been for years, you see it when we concede, Lenihan always looks around at everyone when we concede and they all walk away heads down. No motivators. No Nelsons, Sambas, Hendrys, Battys, Savages. Same with the manager. Is Tony gonna give the defenders a bollocking like Big Sam or Hughes would in recent times? No chance, more likely to make a bizarre comment on one of our youngsters
  23. Not sure this is the game for Buckley, Chapman, Butterworth. 1 change was needed. Dolan/Davenport on for Gallagher. Week until our next match, didn’t need the full overhaul.
