  1. Yeah good comparison. He’s more mobile than Travis, that little bit quicker in movement and reaction. I couldn’t imagine Travis catching up and timing the recovery tackle like he did. I’d like to see a bit more of him over the rest of the season.
  2. Complete shit for brains Brereton you have to square that.
  3. Everyone: I’d like to see Wharton / Markanday come on now JDT: Travis and Edun come on lads
  4. What on earth was Wharton just booked for? It was our free kick.
  5. Haha and I was slagging Morton for not passing forward, think it was his long ball to Brereton. Chuffed it was Dackys shot even with the huge deflection. Ref booking Hedges for kicking the ball in the crowd after the goal. Mental that’s the same result as the bollock cruncher from Cardiff
  6. We need to get 3 points here. Home match against a bottom 5 team, we simply need to win if we have any hope of clinging onto a playoff spot. Wharton on for mystery man Morton who I’m yet to see a forward pass from. Plays a beautiful 10 yarder sideways under no pressure though. Chuck on Markanday for Gallagher too - can’t do much worse.
  7. Debatable for me. Hyam and Lenihan yes Szmodics and Rothwell no Brittain and Nyambe probably but tbc and fairly minimal (given we had to pay a fee and likely larger/similar contract I’d say not worth it) Add in the below par loans compared to Van Hecke and Khadra I’d say we are far from an improved squad, add in the shocking position we’ve got ourselves in with BBD we’re much weaker
  8. 😂😂😂 thank god you don’t work in any football recruitment department then
  9. Adam Wharton has played just 337 minutes since his MOTM performance against Blackpool, that’s across 18 league matches, so averaging 18 minutes a match. Criminal really, I don’t see the point of playing Morton ahead of him, and he offers us more than Buckley. EDIT: For what it’s worth, Morton has played over 1,500 minutes in the same time. A full 90 minutes for 14 of the 18 games, and started 17 of the 18.
  10. We’re 23rd in xG now. Our fall down the table is going to be horrible to watch. We are a horrendous football team.
  11. Agree 100%. Conceding within the 1st minute of the 2nd half is actually more infuriating than the petulant stupidity. Just highlights they’re not in a fight for promotion for me. Going through the motions.
  12. Cheers for the update on that, much appreciated
  13. What actually happened? As that’s a fairly big statement to make around Adam Wharton needing to grow up
  14. Not sure that’s how it works
  15. Yeah it’s harsh, but more importantly it was completely stupid. Not a chance it’s rescinded.
  16. Buckley giving away a penalty and a petulant red card within a week. Back to the reserves for the rest of the season little boy.
  17. There was something flashed up that had us 2nd in the league for passes in our own half but 21st (or there abouts) for passes in the opposition half all season. ’style of play’ - yawn
  18. Relegated teams and their parachute years performance 2016/17 Hull finished 18th, 13th, 24th (relegated to L1) Boro finished 5th, 7th, 17th Sunderland finished 24th (relegated to L1), 5th, 8th in league 1 2017/18 Swansea 10th, 6th, 4th (losing in playoffs) Stoke 16th, 15th, 14th WBA 4th, 2nd and promoted 2018/19 Cardiff 5th, 8th, 18th Fulham 4th and promoted Huddersfield 18th, 20th, 3rd (losing in playoffs) 2019/20 Bournemouth, Norwich, Watford all went up within 2 years 2020/21 Fulham promoted WBA 10th Sheff Utd 15th So in conclusion, over the last 5 years only 6 times a team that were relegated went up within their 3 years of their relegation (and 3 of those were in the same year which is probably where this narrative is coming from) Brighton, Brentford, Huddersfield, Wolves, Sheff Utd, Leeds, Forest, Cardiff, Fulham have all gone up in that period without parachute payments. Not sure about your clear facts
  19. This parachute payment nonsense is just a layer mash potato brain has added in now that it’s clear performances are dire to back up his all out opinion. I think there are 5 clubs in receipt of parachute payments (Burnley, Sheff Utd, Watford, Norwich, West Brom), with Huddersfield receiving their final payment too if we include them. Given our Cat 1 academy, stability in this league, not having to overhaul overpaid players (Stoke, Swansea etc.), owners putting money in to keep us afloat (see Derby/Coventry) and fairly level spending with non-pp clubs over the years (most of the league has a better net spend than us over ~4 years), we should accept nothing less than 7th place at a push, and certainly not seeing anyone like Sunderland, Coventry, Luton, Millwall, QPR, Boro, PNE finish above us by your rules. That gap is currently 4 points, so when it inevitably happens in the next few weeks I look forward to you humbly admitting that the football is terrible, a journey is not needed in this league, and your parachute payments spiel has absolutely no relation to why we performed so awful against Preston or Reading or Luton.
  20. West Brom winning 6 of their last 7 Boro winning 5 of their last 7 Half a season and a 6/7 point handicap, both those sides are finishing above us. We’re closer to 16th than 2nd (1 place above us) Theres no such thing as a transition in the Championship. It’s a league built on loanes. The playing field is about as level as it ever has been. Sunderland came up this season and are only 5 points behind us with a better GD.
  21. What are you even on about? Everyone who is sick of JDT and posting here are the same lot who had that opinion of Mowbray. It’s his defenders who were the Mowbray fans.
  22. I’d be amazed if we finish above them.
  23. I think it’s mainly because he’s gone with a more attacking and ball playing 11 than normal. There’s usually at least 1 if not 2 or 3 of Buckley, Dack, Hedges, Gallagher on the bench, whilst we usually have Travis and Szmodics starting or 3 CBs. Still no space for Adam Wharton on the bench again is interesting
  24. Not far off our strongest 11 in my opinion (bar Brittain for JRC and maybe A.Wharton) Fingers crossed they back it up. Well done to all who travelled despite EFL and Sky scheduling shambles.
