  1. JHC is Scotty is worried then we should all be worried Scotty epitomises the typical Rovers stalwart and it concerns me that he is worried although deep down I understand that he will expect nothing more than a Rovers win, 8 pints and 2 pies PRE match followed by another gallon and a 14inch sausage butty back in the Waters Edge chin up Scotty lad
  2. Rovers need to play a tune that bounces around the stadium, gets the hairs on your neck standing and that will generate a lot of gusto as they walk on to the pitch. Paradise City, with its heavy guitar and deep drum/base support would fit the bill. It would certainly get the players up for it as long as it boomed around the stadium. There is no place for any modern crappy music ala bep's. Does anyone know the PA ? Get him put right !!
  3. out jansen short (retired) douglas gray matteo amoruso tugay (retired or free) bothroyd (put down ! back to italian football) yelldell guaranteed reserve team football - then fringe of 1st team garner barker stopforth peter fitzgerald retain flitcroft thompson gresko johannson IN bellamy sidwell huth (on loan for season) commons stuart taylor + seasoned forward on loan from europe its a big wish list but possible especially in light of the wages saved.
  4. what a total waste of time and effort rabbiting on about clarrots after all who really does give a damn ?
  5. we should just go out from the 1st minute and attack, an early goal will destroy their confidence as they are poor travellers, have injury problems and are on the verge of a real relegation battle in the championship. Go for the kill early on
  6. we've played chelsea twice already and lost
  7. a fantastic result for Rovers. its really funny, I simply do not get the fluttering negative vibes pre match like earlier on in the season. stead played remarkably well considering he was alone up front, took his goal magnificently and contributed well when holding the ball up. Midfielders of Thommo and Reid were immense whilst the destroying tactics of Flitcroft worked wonders. mGP played well but went quiet towards the end. The defence can be proud, how solid we look with NEJ at left back, Todd and Nelson were immense and Niell played very well against two difficult opponents. Mokoena was the only obvious weaklink and even he had a solid match. Cant find any negatives on todays viewing only positives, win the game in hand and we are 2 clear of BRUM, now wouldnt that be good. For the 5-600 Rovers fans travelling, you lucky so and so's. Yes after all the money we have spent recently its a really good time to take a long hard look at ourselves and to check the moths in the wallets ! Dont be so bloody narrowminded and stupid, we only took that many cause they were the only ones who could afford it
  8. At least there appears to be no more bothroyd in a blue and white Rovers shirt. He is back off to italy and lets hope he stays there cause he is not welcome at Rovers after all of those inept displays. so long ya big lummox
  9. thats a very courteous reply orig longsider, thank you. I dont know the result of any burnley v leicester matches this season but I am pretty sure of what I have seen on television, they do not appear to be as organised as bumley. I just cant see them winning at Ewood. so its off to cardiff = £210 for a two day stay for 3 !!!
  10. with all the excitement surrounding our cup match I completely forgot about adding my latest concert to the forum. On Monday evening went to The Opera House at Blackpool to see Paul Weller - he was absolutley superb. The Modfather rules supreme with a variety of songs from The Jam, The Style Council and his current music. If anyone gets the chance to see him take it, he is superb live. His new backing band completely complement Wellers soul style music, they play the old stuff far better and the "new" sound is a joy to behold. He takes the current stock of bands/singers to the cleaners. Has to go down as the best concert since The Jam live in Glasgow 1980
  11. I would take any sort of draw
  12. the day after the night before. I considered coming on here last night and gloating the hell out of our visitors but the excitement got the better of me Bumley turned up with 3/4 of their home crowd in tow, thing is they didnt really make any noise which IMO let their team down. Maybe that I didnt hear anything due to the party in the Blackburn End Lower. our neighbours began brightly and I was somewhat surprised by Rovers lack of enthusiasm in the first 20 minutes or so. Then we got lucky with Tugays deflection. Enter Hyde, a player who has failed to reach the standards that he could have (remember him scoring twice from perfect shots v Watford at Ewood a few years ago when they beat us 4-3?), he manages to score a goal totally out of nothing and quite clearly should have been closed down. So 1-1 at half time and game on. despite Rovers pressure and bumleys reluctance to attack there was to be no break through. A couple of substitutions, one I have not got the foggiest about made little difference until the speedster arrived. A quick break and BANG 2-1 MGP breaks the keepers fingers, the netting and the tiny hearts of the away supporters (Longsider see how kind I was then). So we have a 2-1 victory and a q'final tie at home to Leicester, a team that Rovers have had 1 or 2 battles with in recent years. A few pointers about last night. Thought the Rovers fans showed their true pride in the team last night, lets have more please. the Riverside. I stood in the BBEnd in amazement at seeing the side swelled to its limit, a chant or 3, and to see them remain in the ground until the final whistle made my night. Bothroyd ? the worst player ever to wear the shirt in my 35 and a half years at Ewood. A shocking display, a shocking signing and why oh why did he replace Gally ? Where was Stead ? Where was JJ ? Where was Jansen ? I would have anyone else in my team before that big lummox of a joke of a striker. Even Jimmy Quinn or Andy Kennedy would have done much better even playing today. Sack him off now and save the money. Forget Grabbi, Bothroyd is simply the worst ever Souness signing. Tugay/Savage. A good partnership but on too many occasions Tugay left the middle wide open and more than on one occasion committed himslef leaving the defence to pick up the bits and pieces. Nice to see Flitty back, could now see him in the starting 11 on Sunday. The defence played well, even without Todd. Niell needs to have a look at himself again and get back the form AsAP. Emerton. Why oh why would he not take the ball with him and take on the left back, even more so why didnt he bring his shooting boots ? He is so infuriating. Anyhow its back to reality and the bread and butter stuff. Nice to see Ozz and Den in the Waters edge, both looking fit as fiddles Now then, wheres my map that shows the route to Cardiff
  13. BB End NO3 will be rocking to the sound of the Ewood Beat all the muppets who constantly ring out "sit down sit down " can join in if they like after all its a special occasion, it could be the last time we ever witness bumley at Ewood again
  14. PMT ? the normal usual routine for match day !! (thats pre match tension) no work, only a little bit of running to the tip, a bit of shopping for new car speakers and then its off to the pub for an afternoon aperatif, a nice bar meal at the waters edge with lashings of cheap beer. desert consists of some serious sweet football against some carrot and blue outfit (cant recall the name) and a nice 2-0 home win. post meal its back to the lasher, celebratory drink and a lift in to work tomorrow ! come on you blue boys
  15. ozz its forecast snow !!
  16. suicide squad ? now that really makes you shyt your trolleys dont it I have never heard or seen written such a pile of crud from a lowlife mongle from o'er t'hills
  17. Have you not got the flu ???? after all, a cold damp night in East Lancs coupled with the fact that you will have lost your voice by 10pm may just convince your boss that you are ill !!
  18. Kamy thats shocking, however, why dont you try on the phone now. Clearly there are security issues but I do not think that you should have been treated that way, and in no way trying to defend the staff, surely you could have put a reasoned argument forward rather than leaving. I think you should have spoken to the ticket office supervisor and aired your views. Anyhow keep the faith
  19. thats perserverance Fife Rover hope its a good night for you
  20. its not that den I have to give the wife some notice as if they clash she will have to take her boyfriend instead of me (should Rovers get there of course !)
  21. morning longsider or ligat ! are you looking forward to Tuesday night ? I take it from your appearance on here again that you neither made the derby or preston matches, are you coming to Ewood Park, the real theatre of dreams ? We all can enjoy the banter but really everything you compare between our clubs is totally irrespective. Bumley are nowhere near as big as Rovers. Bumley do not have the bigger support than Rovers. Bumley do not have better players than Rovers. Bumley are not the best supported team away from the turd. Bumley are in a financial crisis when compared to BRFC. The assets of Bumley are nowhere near in comparison to those of their neighbours at Ewood. Your ground is not even half as good as most other grounds in the Championship and only Portsmouths is as bad as yours. I could go on but I cant really be bothered. it all counts on Tuesday, can bumley win ? well yes they can. Rovers have a history of persistently struggling against teams from the LOWER leagues, and Bumley are indeed from a lower league. My own view is that little Bumley can not beat Rovers on Tuesday. You on one hand have just had two difficult games away from home, 1 defeat and one loss. We on the other hand have had a training break over in Dubai. The result will certainly do a few things. it will stop you coming on here and giving us the shyts ! it will put you well and truly in your place ! it will confirm that bumley will have to wait a good few years more to earn a chance to beat Rovers as you will never win promotion ! it will ensure that all BRAGGING rights remain firmly at Ewood Park ! and finally Longsider, lets get this into reality, you are gonna lose, its just a question of how many. I cant see another 5-0 demolition but then again you just never know. bumley have found their level, a mediocre championship team who play on a mud heap, are followed by monkeys and morons and who survive only by selling their ground, their land and their prized player ! So long pal
