Arsenal 3 v 0 Rovers - Cup Semi Final
1864roverite replied to Nuclearsox's topic in Messageboard Gold
Has anyone seen the Freddie Lyungberg interview on SSN ? Seems like he has destined himself and his Arsenal team mates for a final at Cardiff ? Only the reporter added that he had better beat Blackburn before thinking that way. It seems, as is the norm with all of the experts, that Rovers are simply going to Cardiff to give the Arse a warm up match Please please please let this factor come back and bite them on their arses. Lawrenson, the notary in media pundits and the like have all signalled a Arsenal win, no-one it seems is opting for our little team. Havent yet seen the odds on a Rovers win but on the above basis I would imagine you can get a good price -

derby away play off semi final 2nd leg = there play off final wembley = there anfield=there worthy cup final=there relegation battle -there prmotion and preston=there every premierleague game at home since then=there semi final of the fa cup =there I have clocked so many games and spent so much money I dont know where to start. I have been lucky. On Friday its my wife's 40th birthday party and I have to be there, however after the bar closes at 1201am, it is off to a curry house and then onto a coahc for a slow trip to wales. I cannot groan, wy wife doesnt mind. After all when we won at cardiff she was in a hospital bed with a knee operation, she didnt mind me not being there. This is a once in a life time opportunity. spend spend spend after all you can always shoot the bailiffs when they come knocking ! -

nice read BB but lease consider giving Rovers players and the backroom staff a little bit of credit We know arse are good we know they have first class players but are they any better than united ? we know how fast they can break we know we will be outnumbered and we know shocks can happen 0-0 at full time is an excellent achievement 0-0 at extra time final whislte is a miracle Rovers are capable of scoring be it united, arsenal or whoever. At some time the little team is gonna upset the bigger team and it could just be a double this weekend. Got to remain optimistic although in reality Rovers are expected to be cannon fodder -

although I got 122 it was not bloody easy ! The young lad did me a favour with tickets for kids stand, apparently you couldnt have more than 2 adults for 1 child in that end ! Having got around that little obstacle I had to look at the best seating option for tha number. Eventually got a block booking in the North and Main stand. Quite nervy getting down to Ewood with best part of 5k in cash and then watching the member of staff having to count it out. I am sure there was a freebie amongst them ! -

I think that I have done my bit. In total I have purchased 122 tickets including my own, over 60 are non regulars and who are heading there for a good day out. We are scheduled to arrive Cardiff 0830ish so if any of you spot 3 coach loads of curried/aled up blues then it is us lot having a ball -

Norman Bell was an okay player in an average team. for me the list goes something like this tony diamond sean curry paul shepstone kaba diaware fatboy davis grabbi ward peacock ander andersson per pederson marcolin marshall burke jimmy quinn (how can someone so poor then move for big money on at least 3 occasions is beyond me) dick brown craig skinner -

Arsenal 3 v 0 Rovers - Cup Semi Final

The way this season is shaping and recent results in the Premiership and even the lower leagues, a shock is definately on the cards. I wonder what odds a Roves v Newcastle final ? I am like every level headed Rovers supporter who will deep down think that we are unlikely to win, however Rovers are a totally different proposition, both defensively and mentally. If Rovers can shut off supply to terry 'enry then we have a magnificent chance. Every Rovers supporter should get behind the team, be it in the ground, in the pub, down the town or in the living room. Those that miss it could miss the biggest shock since devon loch. IF and it is a bloody big IF we win and reach the final then those who wavered on going to the semi final might just live to regret it. Rover can expect 25000 tickets at most for the final. It makes sense, make the sacrifice, get out the credit cards and spend on a ticket -
Just got my hands on a limited edition of The Collection by The Style Council. Its simply a remastered copy of a series of songs that is a right good listen to. its a Paul Weller/Mick Talbot classic and as Barry would say "A right touch"

Something, apart from the in house bickering ! went unnoticed in the run up to the match. The atmosphere created by the club. We were treated to a louder than usual musical intro, cant think of the song but it was brilliant and then it was followed by the montage of Rovers goals and finished of with a rendition of Jeff Waynes War of the Worlds which is a piece of the most classical music ever. It really got me into the mode as I was half expecting a bit of a dull and drab match. Got to give it to the presenter of the music, he did his bit. Hope for something similar for the next home game.

Well, the day after the crunch game and we are sitting pretty. Yesterday left me with a tremendous smile on my face. Rovers win a 6 pointer, my horses selection come 1st,4th and 5th in the national,I peak at 66-1 for MGP and the correct scoreline,Fulham lose, and then the mighty manure, a team followed by a horde of my shift colleagues manage to lose handsomely to a down and out norwich outfit ! Oh what a night Back to our game, Rovers dominated for all but about 13 minutes. A solid line up with a twist of arrogance, speed and athletisism. The "new" 4-5-1 formula proved a winner. A players summary Brad - hardly called on but when required to did his job. Niell - superb game both in attack and defence Matteo - solid in defence, plenty of energy goig forward and set up the 3rd. Nelsen - immense. Todd - immense. Mokoena - fantastic in breaking up play, great passing and very much the type of player that we have been crying out for. Great pass for the opener. Flitty - good game until he got injured. Breaks opposition play up so well running in tandem with The Axe. Reid - good solid performance. Deserved his goal and he clearly showed he has pace in abundance. Nice to see him with a smile on his face. Thommo - enigma akin to the Emerton syndrome. Until he got the bang on the head he was doing okay, after that his passing let him down and if it were not for the performance of the defence we could easily have been punished. MGP - what can we say about the "hairdo" ? fantastic goal and high drive performance. Dickov - usual normal pesty self, gave his all and if you saw his closing down run in the 91st minute you will realise just how much effort he puts into the game. subs Emerton - deserved a goal, totally transformed under this regime. Tugay - nice touches but as someone mentioned, he does that when we are 3-0 up. Stead - plenty of effort and clearly is full of confidence despite his goal drought. Ref : for once Neil Barry didnt make a **** of himself at Ewood. Southampton - poor team, no teamwork, no effort and a shocking display from players on 25k a week (or more). Goodbye from the Premiership. Gripe of the day - that annoying 'arry and jim tune that they constantly ring out. So IMO Rovers fully deserved the win, it could and should have been more but who cares. We got 3 points, put serious daylight between us and them, pulled back some serious goal difference on fulham with the assistance of our neighbours from bolton and head off to cardiff on a high. it is very clear that the management have really got to grips with this squad. You can see it in the players, they work for each other, they obviously respect each other and it was great to see them giving the Rovers fans the ovation from the pitch. they obviously have a feeling for the shirt.

Arsenal 3 v 0 Rovers - Cup Semi Final
1864roverite replied to Nuclearsox's topic in Messageboard Gold
pure genius again. Heart rules the head for this one. Although the arse are allegedly going to beat us, I have to dream that in the 90th minute, MGP will fire a fantastic cross to the back post and the Kiwi will rise and bury the ball in the net taking the german keeper with him. It is a dream, but hey, we are BRFC, a team of thugs and upstarts from a darkened town somewhere up north. The FA Cup final traditionalist can quote the success of a little team called wimbledon many moons ago when they lifted the cup having beaten the highyl rated liverpool team. This is a similar situation, how nice it would be for a 1-0 Rovers win. Now then where's my coat, hat and crate o Bud, I am off to Cardiff -
you get your mail before 0800hrs !!! over here in Leyland we are lucky of the postie gets his arse around our road before 1pm
-
come on waggy where is your optimism this morning ? Rovers will be up for it, the players are up for it with the biggest game of their lives just around the corner. I dont really care if its a 99th minute winner off someones botty just as long as we win
-
a serious lack of ticket activity this morning. Whilst at the shop did not see 1 single person purchasing a ticket Rovers fans stand has failed to produce any sort of reaction from the footballing authorities and now it is time to accept that there is no way our game is going to be changed, be it kick off time or venue. The things a farce but as the arse have now sold out its up to Rovers supporters to try their utmost best to get to Cardiff and give our team some support. just imagine, we take 14000 fans, Arse have 40000PLUS and we manage to turn them over, how sad it will be to see a set of Rovers players celebrate the achievement of reaching an FA Cup final in front of such a low number of fans
-
It doesnt really matter if we sell 11k, 12k or 25k, Rovers in a semi final is a must see football match. There is every liklihood that you will never get the chance to so again. We all know the fa have doen us big style, we all know or knew that the ticket prices would be extreme and we all knew that travelling to cardiff was going to be nightmare to say the least. Those of us fans who are going have got to enjoy it and get behind our team. yes we are expected to lose as we are playing arsenal, the current champions who have recently completed the double over us. It still doesnt mean that a fairytale cant happen. FFS we went to Cardiff for the WCF versus the mighty cup team that is spurs and BEAT them, why cant we do the same here ? We have to hope and we have to dream that PAUL's prediction is right otherwise he gets the beer in for every one of the boards members

I have emailed the FA 12 times and although the message has been read on each occasion they have failed to respond. Every newspaper I have emaile dhave also failed to take onboard the decision to hold this match at Cardiff. It appears the FA have got their way, no protests, no answers that defy logic and its all their fault
-
its all sending the right message to the FA, they furked up big style and now have serious egg on their faces. a third full stadium in the semi final of the most prestigious competition in the whole wide world and it is ALL down to them muppets ??? not they are worse than that.
