  1. Baseless ? Mowbray himself has stated that is the case! If it’s not true why would he say it? The main name we were offered was from Man City and was a free of charge loan! The issues between Venus and TM kaiboshed that!
  2. It’s not illogical it’s absolutely spot on! Not only did he not spend cash he turned down the chance to loan 2 very good and upcoming PL strikers who were offered !
  3. Its got a second heavy defeat written all over it. 3-0 Blades
  4. and yet some on here thought we were walking the game before we played!
  5. Maybe the players that JDT wants are not just quite available due to any number of reasons and why would you think he isn't being backed if stories are true about offering a good few bob for players already mentioned within this thread?
  6. Abysmal lack of effort! Why Buckley is still on the park is a mystery. We have blown it tonight making poor choices wasting chances, poor passing and a totally disorganised unit!
  7. The problem is very clear we cannot breach midfield areas - vale is isolated and when he loses the ball it brings pressure, same with Dolan. SS needs a free reign to break the central area
  8. It wasn’t Pickering it was BBD losing his man! Rovers look tired and lethargic as I predicted!
  9. In some places you may read that but you will find the bid was no where near that figure because at the time, if it was Rovers would have sold him.
  10. you are missing the point surely! If a player doesn't sign the contract on offer and with both DL and RN, there was always hope they both would, and then having one at least indicating he was happy to sign but then declined, the club cant do anything more about it, players choice. Nyambe was kippered by his agent who thought the cash cow was coming his way, truth is it never did and never will for him. He declined, crawled back dithered more and then Rovers withdrew the offer, quite righty so in my view. The club cannot and should not offer wages way above what the club values them at. Players have become uses to huge windfalls of cash being on offer, that is now changing outside of the PL and if you cant get into a 25 man Pl squad then players like clubs themselves, will have to adopt accordingly. The days of huge wages are over in the football league. I see a wage ceiling of around 20k per week being a common thing, it just isnt sustainable let alone acceptable in these days.
  11. But they weren't so your value suggested is totally and completely irrelevant - neither DL or RB cost Rovers anything. I can assure you the Rothwell bid was far short of the £4.5m you suggest, try £2m up front with add ons to make it to £3m at the most.
  12. £10m for 3 out of contract players who are untested outside of the championship? Seriously ???
  13. I think it is pretty obvious WHY! after the game on Sunday the players wont just be the normal tired after a weekend game, they will be absolutely knackered after the heat sapping weather at Ewood, that is the reason why I would happily take a point! Whether they are the worst team, with a worse manager or not THEY still beat a Rovers team last season that should have wiped the floor with them, we didnt if you remember as we lost the game!
  14. They were even shitter last season and look what happened! How many times have we won there in the last 10 games ?
  15. The effect of the efforts v WBA cannot be underestimated and therefore I would be happy with a point, ecstatic with 3 and miffed if we lost ! We all know Rovers have been great since day 1 however it’s a big ask to bury the reading hoodoo following such a strength sapping game 3 days later
  16. Tough game on the back of yesterday added to Reading getting a kicking v Rotherham. I would take a point but 3 would be absolutely brilliant!
  17. there are not that many better teams then WBA in this league, we just happened to convert our chances and battle like hell.
  18. I can tell you he was well Spoken of at a wiggin pie shop 😅😅
  19. If we think we have a £20m striker in BBD they have Grant who is I believe a better all round player and probably valued at £25m, they have Diagana who again is quality and is another £25m plus player and then they have Robinson who can score from very little. Add that to a solid midfield spine with creativity and the value of Rovers taking 3 points from WBA is massive. Rovers showed mettle and bottle aplenty along with two sublime pieces of finishing !
  20. He ran his legs off for the time on tree pitch in 34 degs of heat the stadium was a sweltering sweat box - he is part of a squad that has just won 4 on the spin !
  21. It’s a very long time since I witnessed the WHOLE Rovers support stand and applaud those players as they crawled off the park having given their all and busted more than a gut for the shirt, for themselves, for each other and for the fans 👍. We have always known there is a togetherness within the squad but todays game more than ever it was on display and none more so than Ayala and Travis supported by a wonderful team effort ! Strikers scoring 2 excellent goals and the defence, as patched up as it is only conceding an outrageous deflected effort from a team that on paper look to be one of the best in the league. What a pity there wasn’t even more home fans in the ground to witness what is unfolding on that pitch and within this squad JDT and co appear to have instilled an even better ethic a solid spine and the tactical nouse for the players to go out work hard and win games! It’s a pleasure to see ! Every fan needs to spread the Rovers word be as one and get on Ewood something special is happening
