[Archived] Club Up For Sale?
Hughesy replied to Florida Rover's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Its simple really - Uncle Jack wrote his deed and in that he wanted the Future of HIS club to be safe. Im 100% sure that there will be a rule in there that states they have to give us x amount of pounds each year! Im sure they will probably never be able to get rid of that rule as that is what Uncle Jack wanted! Its his Money! As for Investment - Rovers have been open to this for over a year now. They have stated before that they would look at any interest for investment. -
Sunday - is a game we cannot lose. If we do then we are out of the race for 4th i think. I will also be gutted if we finish below West Ham, Bolton & Wigan as i feel we are a much better team than all 3.
-
From the way our season has gone, we must be looking for the last Uefa Place at the least. Im dreaming of that final Champs league place and a nice extra £15million that it would bring into the club to boost our team.

Yids Away – 1 point Villa @ home – 3 pts Boro @ home – 3 pts Sunderland Away – 3 pts Wigan @ Home – 3 pts Pompey Away – 3pts (Possible slip up here) Liverpool @ Home – 1pt Brum Away – 1pt Chelsea @ home – 1 pt Charlton Away – 0 pts Man City @ Home – 1pt Total - 20 extra pts = 63pts Now looking at what I predicted I think it’s a fair prediction. Pompey away we may struggle as theyw ill be fighting for the win, but iv also said 0 pts at Charlton, which we are capable of winning (like the league cup game)

How many places now go to Europe after Man United winning the league cup yesterday? Is it top 4 for Champs League (4th has to go in qualifiers?) Then next 2 for Uefa Cup? so now 1 extra place for Uefa after Man United's win? I think looking at the fixtures that both West Ham & Wigan will fade away from the 4th or 5th position. This weeks games will be vital and should make things a little clearer. Yids vs Rovers (Too close to call) Fulham v Arsenal (Fulham in form at home, Arsenal out of form away) Newcastle v Bolton (Newcastle much improved) Man United v Wigan (After yesterday i think Wigan's season will go into decline now) West Ham v Everton (Everton have improved but West Ham are good at home) Iv looked at the games and marked what i think and the final table looked like this: 4th - Blackburn - 63 5th - Arsenal - 62 (Goal Difference) 6th - Spuds - 62 7th - Bolton - 61 8th - West Ham - 58 9th - Wigan 56 Fingers crossed

Ljungberg out which is good. Is ee we havent had a score draw for 29 games now. Still dont think we will. 2-1 Bellamy 1st goal -
Happy enough with the designs. On the red shirt, is it going to have bits of grey, or is it black?

I agree with that 'Onepost'. I dont wish anything bad on players but i would love to see someone flatten him - Let the Axe have a go the next time we play them! -

11 vs 11 - Barcelona had control of the game and were by far the best team - Outclassed! 11 vs 10 - Outclassed totally! Lucky to get away with just a 2-1 defeat -

Hughesy replied to tucker's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Soft red card you could say, but he didnt go anywhere near the ball so maybe it was a fair dismissal. He went for the man, not the ball and he then pretended he was the one who had just been kicked -
Todd - Crap again i thought! Zurab should be playing instead of him. Gray - Doing a decent job but sometimes he needs to stop pushing too far forward and getting caught out. A half- fit Pedersen had to cover for him too much last night. Reid - 1st touch isnt ideal, however he doesnt shy away from a tackle and if he looses the ball then he always looks to try and win it back. Tugay - Some good passes last night but he also gave the ball away quite a few times. Pedersen - Half fit and it showed. Looked abit reserved like he didnt want his injury to flare up. Still it was his cross that we scored the 1st from. Peter - Considering he is only young - his ability at crossing the ball from the wing & corners is top drawer. He does drift in and out of the game, but he is a proper winger who looks to stay on the wing and likes to have a go at full backs. Bellamy - Unlucky not to get his hatrick. We look a different club when he plays Pongolle - Looked like he was willing to put the effort in for the club and in the 1st half he was one of our better players. Once he has worked with our players for a few weeks i can see him being very useful for us!

[Archived] Brett Emerton
Hughesy replied to nonaynevernomore's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Id rather have reid in the team that Emerton because Reid gets stuck in! I still think Emerton will have a big part to play at rovers, however i think he needs to put more effort in, when he actually gets his chance. We have seen glimpses of his talent but he isnt consistent enough. -
Gray is not good enough for England and there are too many players infront of him for that position.
-
The money they will be putting into them rather than us, would make it 'supporting'. We need to start attracting more from Preston, Blackpool areas etc. We really need a ticket office in blackburn town centre, like bolton have in their town centre

Will be interesting to see how many Sunderland bring on wednesday with our club paying the travel costs for coaches. Hopefully they wll bring alot and help Gav's bet along.

BIG club are struggling - hope they go down!

Its on in the pubs around here Des -
The are alot of people who are between Rovers & PNE - maybe we should target those?!? They dont really wana support PNE. I know a few people who have left rovers and gone supporting PNE because of the cost difference

[Archived] Academy - Young Guns
Hughesy replied to Philly Rover ®'s topic in Football Messageboard Archive
Id say the academy is well worth it! Just to name a few - Dunn - £5 million Duff - £17 million Damian Johnson Martin Taylor - £2 million Gally & Douglas - Currently on loan and im sure Championship clubs would pay money for them after this season. -

Taylor, Barker & Welch. There are a few others too who are on the edge like Peter, Johnson & Derbyshire -

Hughesy replied to yawnsie's topic in Football Messageboard Archive
According to LET Pedersen faces a late fitness test. If injured then i think we may find Bentley on the wing as it also says that Hughes is toying with the idea of playing Pongolle & Bellers from the start -
Why support the dingles or PNE when you can support the Rovers? Want real football then get to ewood... call on 08701 123456

I cannot believe that Rovers recieved £1.5 million compensation money for Souness and his monkey backroom team!! ha ha that makes me happy!
