  1. Why don't we let him play until we all tell him he's rubbish. No one thought Johnson would set the Premiership alight, now look at him. No one thought that Crouch would cause anyone trouble, look what he did. Even look what Dickov did in relation to our other strikers last season. Now I'm not saying he's going to bang in 20 goals or that I want him to be in our first choice pairing, but it is quite possible that he'll provide decent cover and get 5/6 goals this season that could get us 6/9 more points. Now considering we paid nothing for him I don't think that is bad business.
  2. My greatest fear that has resulted from the terrorist attacks of this morning are that this will simply be more fuel to the fire of the gun-slinging war on terror brigade. The last thing we needed at this point as everything was beginning to turn against them was more fear, anger and hatred that can simply help them to gain support. What happened today was horrific, unjustified and barbaric. Sadly, I fear that the response of the world may well be to simply continue policies that will ensure that others will die, not only in the wars we decide to fight but because of future incidents of this sort. Before I anger anyone I'm not saying to give into the terrorists, nothing of the sort. I just wish we could pursue a hardline policy that didn't include invading another country, I don't know whether the current political leaders are actually capable of doing such a thing. I feel horrible for all of those who have been affected by the events of today and am glad to say that I'm not one of them. I hope that in the coming months they will be able to work through any injuries, phobias and the grieving process. I also hope that in response to their tragedy, and also what is a tragedy as a nation and a world, we take actions that do them justice, that can actually prevent this from happening again rather than simply pointing a finger and blowing things up whever it happens to land.
  3. Yes there is quite a lot of Paris 2012 stuff here, but to be honest with you I think they'll probably still get rid of most of it at a good price. That sort of stuff will only be bought by tourists who will still like the fact that they are buying a t-shirt from the Paris bid. There aren't tons of the things, I actually rarely see them, but that picture is quite amusing.
  4. Good news, though it was win-win for me by the end of that. Should be a good games.
  5. Well not long to go until we'll all know who's getting the games. Such a big fix and a waste of money really the process should be changed but that's modern day sport for you, even when it's for an "amateur" games. Hoping London will get it, despite my present location, though I'm sure both could put on a great show, just have a feeling Paris will get it in the end though.
  6. Downloaded the Demo and it won't play...that was a rather big waste of a couple of hours!
  7. Well we aren't particularly good at one day internationals. I didn't expect much from them to be honest, no doubting that you have far more class and experience in that field and I think given our recent performances in South Africa this summer has been surprisingly good. However, in tests we are certainly deserving of our ranking and will give you lot a run for your money in the Ashes.
  8. Neekoy is making the same mistake.
  9. They've sorted it out now.
  10. There's no doubt Australia put in a good performance yesterday. Though England's batting was sadly lacking they did do well with the Bowling, except in the early stages and I think we are in desperate need of that extra quality bowler to open the bowling with Gough.
  11. Neekoy you over arrogant b*****d. It really annoys me how earlier on you were complianing about us and here you go again. A right d******d. And just wondering, if you can "still dig deep when you need to" where was this against England in the 20/20? Or against England and Bangladesh in the first two one day games? You played well, we played badly, simple as. Just don't be such a hypocrite.
  12. Alright. Let's just wait and see.
  13. It works both ways doesn't it? We win a couple matches and everyone thinks Australia won't take a wicket let alone win a match, now we lose a game and suddenly it's Australia have hit form and oh no we don't stand a chance. The one day series and the ashes will be close contests and will be won by whichever side turns up on the day and gets that little bit of luck at the right times. Let's just hope that it's england.
  14. Australia bowled well today and England basically didn't show up for the run chase. Well earned victory.
  15. There's a link to it, it is in French but quite straight forward. http://www.fnac.com/Shelf/article.asp?PRID...103&NID=1586981
  16. Alright I'm stuck now between the Toshiba Qosmio G20-109 and the Sony Viao VGN-A4173. The Sony is about 200 euros cheaper but as my uncle works for sony there is a chance I would get it for less than that. Now the Toshiba looks to have better specs but then I'm not all that great with computers. Is it so much better to be worth the extra 200 or no?
  17. Well now that will be impressive. They will be good in the tests, I'm sure, in my book they are still favourites, as they probably still are for the natwest series as they are proven quality. Having said that Warne is not what he used to be and Lee is good on his day but goes for a lot of runs. They are simply getting old, but this isn't a transitional period.
  18. I notice not so many Australians are coming on here anymore!
  19. I actually don't think he should be. In a run chase like that he's good to come in with 100-150 runs to get so that he is able to get himself in and then push the run rate up, I'm not sure if I'd like to see him in earlier as he might well not be in a position where they are close enough to the finish line for him to really start to take risks and accelerate. Of course sometimes it will work, but during the middle part of the innings I still think it would be better to have players like Collingwood pushing the ball around, keeping the rate at a nice 4 an over and chipping away at the total before the real charge starts. They did that well I thought, the problem was when they quite quickly lost a couple of wickets and things looked a bit desperate, luckily Pietersen turned on the magic and the Aussies week has gone from bad to worse to horrible.
  20. No please, start celebrating now It makes the joy of a 5-0 whitewash by the Aussies so much more enjoyable 323941[/snapback] Wait weren't you the one making the huge deal out of us losing in the Six Nations to some of the better sides in international rugby. Yet when you lose to a team who have only one 9 times in 107 matches (with some of those victories coming against a much depleted Zimbabwe) you want us to act as if "oh well, doesn't matter, it was just a loss we can take it we are still the best". I'm sure you Australians will give us a masterclass this summer, one in hypocrisy and backpeddling.
  21. Quality post there Grooby, should probably just save time and give you a Grooby now.
  22. Where are those players at the start of the game?
  23. Been following since '94 so twelve seasons down now, hopefully many, many more to come. Amazing seeing some of the numbers being mentioned. Sadly within those twelve seasons I've yet to live close to enough to hold a season ticket, or to even make it to matches on a regular basis. Hopefully next year with me being in London I'll be able to make it to more.
  24. Will anyone want to start another game sometime?
