  1. You obviously didn't see Ronaldo swearing at officials several times during this world cup, as for a stamp, it didn't look much like that to me. I think some of the Ronaldo bashing is over the top, but then so is calling Rooney a thuggish chav.
  2. The French and North African divide is very strong. France are quite happy for what non-French would see as foreigners playing for them, they don't even see it that way. Really though the list of real Frenchman in the past few years is quite short, especially if you look for white Frenchman.
  3. Online translator there neekoy?
  4. He is very talented, he jus sometimes showboats too much and he still has to improve his final ball, no doubting the talent there though.
  5. Can always count on you neekoy to use this to bash the English. If Ribery has been a find of this tournament then you obviously like players who miss sitters.
  6. I think it was pretty average, not one for the ages that is for sure.
  7. I think it means one who raises pigs, or it might be a pigsticker, not sure how the translation would work.
  8. He's Algerian really though. Even tried out for the Algerian under 17's but didn't make the side.
  9. No player would ever do that.
  10. Come on now, Cole's was in the corner, keeper could have saved it but would have been a very good save. If you are a Portuguese supporter you can't be happy and if Friedel lets one like that in next year I won't care how much you can say the ball moved. Has nothing to do with who struck it, he has a terrific strike, as he showed later, he hit it the first well, but down the middle should be saved. I have German friends and all I hear is all their talk about the pig boy, so I have a lot of respect for him, just would expect more from an international keeper.
  11. Straight down the middle, keeper should still save it.
  12. First one wasn't a belter, it was crap keeping.
  13. 3-1
  14. Unprofessional. I would have expected better.
  15. 26 goals in 86 games for France, 101 in 306 in Ligue 1 and 34 in 146 for Arsenal, not bad as an option for 4th choice striker, especially when you consider that many of those appearances, especially for country and Arsenal were as substitute.
  16. It isn't though. Sky only pays that money to the leagues because it boosts their subscription to have premiership football, so it is because of the fans that Sky are willing to stump up that much cash and it is the subscription fees that are used. American, great minds think alike...sometimes.
  17. Most of them are from French colonies in Africa, Malouda is from French Guiana.
  18. Not going to agree with that I'm afraid. Firstly, the fans are always key to sports and finances. Secondly, the trickle down effect from rich to poor when looking at it even on an individual sense is usually so small it isn't even worth looking at. David Dunn's contribution to the local economy (unless you are thinking of things like morale) is minimal; the contribution of the local population to David Dunn's finances is huge.
  19. To be fair to the guy he looked great at Everton and never really got his chance at Arsenal. Since then he seems to have lost the plot and that combined with injuries has seriously damaged his career. He certainly has talent, hopefully he'll start finding the back of the net when we call upon him. As has been mentioned, both Hughes and Eddie N. have worked with him before so they must have seen something.
  20. I don't think France will be positive in this one. They have yet to put in a positive performance and I think they will stick to the defensive 4-5-1 and hope to get a goal somehow. They know their limitations and won't try and push it now that it is the big time.
  21. David Dunn will never sort his fitness out, end of, forget about it.
  22. I do agree, the only problem with this is the odd player that does need 2/3 minutes of treatment and has to sit out for 10 minutes.
  23. I've seen him for Southampton, in no way could what I have seen be described as crap. He may well not have been up to international level, not many are at his age, but he isn't crap.
  24. That was Shearer and I agree that Portugal suffered last night becae of the reputation that they have built for themselves in the games against the Netherlands and England.
  25. England only let in goals once during this tournament, so not really fair to say we can't defend and can't defend leads. As for not having world class forwards, Rooney can be easily taken out of the game? Oh, if it is that easy then I won't be worried about him when we play United next season. If you can accept the fact that Portugal looked odds on to score once (Figo missing a sitter) then you don't have much legs. I will also promise you that the French weren't very happy with that second half and were all very, very nervous. They thought Portugal would score.
